- The Occult Tarot by Travis McHenry. Images - the almost cartoonish depictions. I think by saying all their names, I might have made them stir! Much better than the Daemon Tarot, which I compare.

the one thing i caught my attention on this deck is Valak.. that's why i ordered it online.. i am also a huge fan of The Movie The Nun and Conjuring 2.. i love anything dark arts related..

Great review and interesting cards. I love the detail of the illustrations and how they match the Medieval or later styles. Though I would find them difficult to read for myself or others :) The book may be necessary to have to read the cards correctly as well.
It pisses me off to see Chinese illegally copying, printing then selling this and the other decks on legit internationally available stores (for the same price or 50% less) then the legit stores accepting such deals! Artists always had a hard time making money then copyright and ideas thieves come in to make it even more difficult for them. Even if I, a reader report a copyright infringement, eBay or Amazon don't care because I'm not the copyright owner. It's a problem of many artists who created their decks and we can't even help them.
The difficulty in reading these is an issue and to be honest, I think they would scare some people if you did a reading with them. I've been burned several times by import knockoffs. Anything from Russia or China isn't the real thing. eBay is awful about taking them down. Amazon is too!
Great video and super insightful, as usual. I've always thought of this deck as an "oracle" deck, not a Tarot deck, but now I'm not even sure I can call it that, because I'm not sure how I would read with it! Maybe the Warrens could have used it to help identify a haunting or two ;).
Maybe! I do love me some Warrens. None came for a visit after I spoke their names. Though it seems some of those poor demons are just misunderstood. I want a familiar now…lol. ;)
Quite a pretty deck, but indeed not really functional as a tarot deck. I personally find "Goetia. Tarot in Darkness" released byLo Scarabeo a much more workable deck.
The spelling in some of the cards isn't necessarily wrong. Many demons have multiple spellings of their name. I know at least 3 version of Astaroth name. The author probably picked the version of the name he connected with the most.
Some other symbols on the cards do make me raise a eyebrow to why their there. I mean, why is the Sumerian cuneiform symbol too indicate a 'god' on the Azazel card. It doesn't make much sense to me to have that there. It's just so random and out of place.
Yes, there are lots of spellings - some more phonetic than others. Yes, I am still awaiting the Goetia deck - I got the Kickstarter one and it should be here in Oct. The mass market one came out this year and waiting for my copies is a struggle. I'm a fan of the artist's work. I did notice just random things on cards just to fill in missing spaces. Not a usable deck, but interesting. Thank you for checking out the video!
@@tarotoculus @Tarot Oculus I got the mass market edition of Goetia. I didn't know about the Kickstarter until it was already over for months. I do love the deck. I'm using it all the time. I hope yours will arrive soon!
