So I took circus classes with my family as a child, and there are so many things in this deck that are circusy. The Emperor, to me, looks like a strong base for acrobatics. The Wheel of Fortune is clearly a Cyr Wheel. The Star is Chinese Pole (not a stripper pole!). The Hanged Man is an aerialist. The Five of Swords! Stilts! The Eight of Coins is a balance act (rarer than many other circus acts, but I have seen a few at Cirque du Soleil shows, and they are always very impressive). Plus also just the whole vibe of this deck really /feels/ circusy.
There are some circusy cards for sure
Ooo might work great with the TarotAt The End Of The World
I understand where people are coming from describing this deck as "cold". For me, I describe decks in suits - and the Fountain Tarot to me is a also swords deck as you said. It's clear, clean, to the point, not very emotional or maybe even a little distant. I also think because there are a lot of pointy and clear shapes (triangles, lines and stuff) makes it less "soft" and more masculine (at least to me). Also, the swords suits is in my opinion on of the best!
I also recieved a career reading from you with this deck, and it was wonderful! ❤
I love this deck a lot and it's definitely on of my favourites!
It's very airy and I love it that way.
Interesting! What decks would you recommend for a lover of the Wands suit?
@@zoewhite8072 So Wands are about creativity and passion. So for me, wands-y decks are more abstract, fire your imagination and/or your intuition. I personally struggle a bit in that aspect. But from the decks I personally own, I'd argue that maybe the Devas of Creation (and probably all decks from Cilla Conway) the Prisma/Cosma Vision or maybe even something like the Tarot of the Curious Creatures fit that description.
Most decks are a mix of everything tho, so it's hard to pin down.
It's been on my list for quite some time, maybe it's time I get it. As a half-Gemini, half-Aquarius its "cool airiness" feels just right for me.
This deck always is blunt with clarity for me . Cuts through fog and confusion. Like saying here is your answer no nonsense.
This deck is very airy but also so very much about *light.* in terms of fountain... I picture this massive crystal fountain that doesn't even have water, but is actually just somehow a fountain of light... the light spectum being separated or fractured or divided by the fountain.. I can't quite find the right words.... almost like Picasso.. whatever that art stle of his only with light instead. Idk it's like light and perspective.
Like... in the song "drops of jupiter"... "did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day...."
I love this deck and I shouldn’t as I tend not to like minimalist, postmodern art. But to me - a Gemini - this is the perfect Gemini deck. I find it very comforting. It is new to my collection so Ilook forward to working with it more.
This is the weird deck that in theory I should love, and indeed I do love the packaging, the gilding, the backs, the color palette, the art style, the "coldness" etc, but I just don't like the actual pictures on the cards
I'll venture a guess and say that when other people refer to this deck as "cold" they, like me, are talking about physical coldness and not so much as emotional coldness precisely because it looks very clean, as if a breeze is permanently blowing in the cards while the sun is still relatively low in the sky and you would just like to have an extra layer
thanks for reminding me how beautiful this deck is. I haven't used it in a long time but it will never leave my collection.
I have always overlooked this deck for some reason, but a recent video of yours where you confess to confusing the titles of Fountain and Spacious tarots made me think to look for a review of this one. I’m so glad I did as I’m really trying to look for mass market decks wherever possible ( not always successfully!). Not my usual style of deck (, although admittedly my collection is quite eclectic as it grows ) but I really do like this as a different and refreshing interpretation. It seems to transcend space and time..I thought I could detect an hour glass at times within the designs. I could taste melon as I watched ( like one of those mid - course icy palate cleansers ) so am keen to find out how it feels when I can physically handle the cards. Thankyou as always for your thoughtful walkthrough...( posted April 2024)
I struggled to connect with it, and then I trimmed the borders and it opened up and become more warm and welcoming. Very poetic and gorgeous!
For me... it feels like a prism (moreso than what I think of when I hear fountain). Very much like we are looking at something through prisms or shards of glass... very... crystal-y... (as in clear quartz). Even the backs is so... mosaic, broken glass, prism... it feel like that literal splitting of light for me.
Lovely way of explaining the cards. Really makes the deck alive
The death card in this deck always gives me Artex vibes from the never ending story in the swamp of sadness
just picked up this deck from a 2nd hand store if they were used very little they are like brand new.... I get a beachy or a ocean vibe from them I love working with them..
I love the Fountain Tarot because I always see something different in the cards - very intuitive read
Amazing deck. One of my favourites! It also really reminds me of the Dream Vision tarot. Not the colours, but the overall style with its lines and shapes.
I was thinking the same thing! Itching to get home and use them together now
@@Julia-el3lu Let me know how the combination works for you!
It was a Joy to watch this video! Love your dive into this deck. Thank you!❤️
I rehomed my fountain tarot and now I regret it! Love the artwork and the Light in it. It's on my christmas list. 😉
I never thought I was into minimalism in the slightest but what's odd is that this deck doesn't FEEL minimalist to me. Nor do some other decks that are described this way (wild unknown). Linestriders definitely feels minimalistic. But I feel so weird whenever someone calls this deck minimalistic cuz it feel like it has plenty. Doesn't seem anymore minimal than rws...
I want this deck simply for the stripper pole star card 😂 when y’all mentioned that on 3FR, I immediately put it on my wishlist
I really love this deck and also feel like I haven’t come across anything that could replace it.
There is really nothing like it
The nine of coin’s imagery (now that you’ve pointed out the coins in the background) reminds of growth- this person has been investing their ‘wealth’. Before, 9 of coins felt like a card in the present, but now I see it as a look at past actions
What an amazing walk through ❤
I purchased this deck last year and mine is packaged exactly the same. I love the art, but this deck feels too masculine for me, I feel like it's a "guys deck". I don't use it and am considering passing it along. Thank you for your perspective on it!
I should go back and re-visit my fountain tarot. I haven't used it for long time as I got it when I first started with my tarot journey. I was too new to tarot and found it hard to read.
Ok so, 7 of coins… did you see Gordon Ramsay too??? I love your deep dives, your analysis always helps me see something more in the cards.
I've really tried hard to like this deck for years, but I just can't...I love some cards and find countless others uninspired...I don't have the heart to buy it.
Excellent review. I love this deck. Thank you.
I kinda hated the back until I looked at them for a while
At first, the imagery didn't catch my attention until I heard your interpretation of how the cards are trying to communicate the meaning. Now I do feel I can connect with this deck🤍 Thank you so much for this review!
Lion dragon = griffin?
If this had been made today, it'd be called liminal imo
Hmm... it does feel like it's between... like between shards of light..
