- HD Footage of Hurricane Irene as she made landfall in Morehead City, NC and Atlantic Beach. Winds inside the eye wall over 100 Mph! Storm surge and flooding in Atlantic Beach. Video inside the calm of the eye and damage from the storm.
DID ANYONE WATCH THIS MORE THAN ONCE? I like it so much that I've seen it at least 10 times!!! Thumbs up if you agree.
Thanks for the Video coverage. I've been in this area many times to the beach.
Amazing footage. I used to live up there. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for an eye on the storm. Extraordinary video. Thanks for sharing.
Excellent footage, thanks!
I really find this awesome. I rarely see this kind of hurricane wind force footage with actual measurements.
One thing I like is that mall these natural weather events are documented like crazy by not only the media.. but by everyone that is living through it. With pictures, videos and hell, even text messages in the form of those on Twitter.
@Iamkcs2c
From what I could tell, it was NOT a person. It was some sort of unidentified object. We ruled out that it was a boat.
Irene went right over where I live in new York
There was so much wind and rain!!
Great Video!! Thank You!!!! My sister and husbands house could be seen from the bridge shots . We could see that the roof and the boat were in place. My other sister enjoys feeding the ducks so we glad to see them as well. You have set many minds at ease.Your a great team. Thank You! P.S. Do you have other footage of Atlantic Beach from this weekend?
Wow....thanks for getting this coverage of our community under seige!
That sailboat is still grounded out there, too.
@StmChser Ahh thx - I was watching at too low res - at 1080 things are a lot clearer
I like this video. The guys sounds like a sailor.
@tunalik If sustained winds are 74 mph or greater. Storm surge wasn't a major factor in Morehead City because it was hit with the western eye wall which would be the weaker side of a northern moving storm.
Wow....thanks for getting this coverage of our community under siege!
My hometown! The good thing is, everyone will recover from this disaster. MHC is tough!
it was a cat 1 cuz it was a small storm for damage it was just cuz all rain cuz it came to north Carolina and just sat for 3 days strait and just rain with 110 mph where i live in emerald isle nc and it was just a lot of rain....
Speek poorly often dont you. Bad and incomprehensible english.
Fred Thompson coming back to this 5 years later, I’m glad I learned how to form a proper sentence😂
aren't the wind speeds a little faster than they really are since you're on a bridge gauging them?
The wind was so strong it rang my door bell a lot of times that night XD
Should had answered.
I was in that.
I've been in this cat 3 storm.. I was 10 days old when it tout ch hdown
I live in eastern NC, and i still have appliances that were damaged by the storm, and some even lost their homes.
My mother is retiring and moving to Morehead City. What does a category 5 hurricane look like? How high does the storm surge get because she can't swim. Hurricanes never get that bad here in Massachusetts.
+Beans1111111111 Category 5 is about triple the wind speed of this footage. What i am talking about is Category 5 landfall, I am pretty sure US never had one before.
yes we have Hurricane Hazel 191953 0r 54
Juanita Baca Nope. The only Cat 5s that made landfall are Laborday 1935 and Camille
Andrew in 1992 was an F5. It was upgraded years after it struck.
FreezeNGraham It didn't upgrade after years. It was an Cat 5, but it weakened before landfall to a Cat 4
Was that a person in the water at 11:03? What happened to him?
why did you decide to take a drive in a hurricane?
I have family that lives between morehead and beaufort My brother lives on Stacy island
Birds and ducks are smart
im right in the eye of huricane SANDY
why didn't your car blow away?!?!? With that wind!
What exactly is rated has a hurricane here? the surge was small, the storm is weak..You guys got some flood damage but I don't even see broken windows
@m333tt Yeah a hurricane is a serious storm even at cat 1. I just don't understand how Irene got so much coverage when the media pretty much down played Ike that hit Galveston. That storm swallowed entire neighborhoods. Bolivar Peninsula before and after photos are scary too look at and know people stayed.
wow 😥
I wonder what would happen the northeast sector of America if a category 5 hurricane was to hit...
The Yankees would flip shit but in all seriousness some of the structurally weak skyscrapers could collapse and there would be thousands of deaths.
A category 1 hurricane shut down the NY subway system for a week so can't even imagine what a category 5 would do. The problem is that the waters are usually not warm enough in the Northeast for a category 5 hurricane. Probably cat 3 max.
@@Flyingwithdale It's possible but extremely unlikely.
HOLY FUCK!
Wow that’s bad
Nit wit
the poor pigeons. FREE BATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or an ALIEN o_O
