Army Gear: TA-50 Load Lifter Attachment (NSN 7241)

- Ever wondered what that mysterious "load lifter" item is on your CIF record? THIS IS IT! :) Wonder no more. Hopefully, this helps, although you probably ended up here after hours of looking at your clothing record and going through your gear to find this "nugget." :)
If you need help locating it, load lifters are normally found attached to the shoulder strap assembly at the top of the ruck. Older designs might not have them at all.

Sweet mother of mike! Thanks for posting this. I knew it had to be part of the ruck but I could have driven myself crazy looking for this. Never, Take. It. Down. I'm sure you've saved thousands of man-hours of anguish and made the world a better place.
Hahaha I totally concur!!
You're the definition of "not all heroes wear capes"
Sincere Thanks!!!!...this thing is on my clothing record and it was absolutely driving me nuts digging through 18 years worth of TA50 trying to identify what this is. This is one of the items the Army wants back upon retiring/ETS. Its so small I cant believe they care about getting this back.
Thank you, buddy. Been a great help.
YESSSSSSSS! It did not take me long to find out what it was thanks to your video!
Thanks so much I was looking through all my TA 50 looking at NSNs and I thought I lost it or something lol. Whew! :)
FREAKIN THANKS!!!!!! YOU'RE AWESOME!
Thank you for this.
Good info. Thanks man
thanks for the video. I would've been searching for it for forever.
Lol no problem. Glad you were able to find it! You're the first to comment in four months haha
They allow to adjust the tension on shoulder straps, so that you can move the weight closer to your body (or loosen up, if needed). Newer designs of shoulder strap assemblies have special straps at the top that go through load lifters. The figure-8 ring at the top hooks onto the slots in the ruck frame.
My point exactly. That's why I made this video :) I had to go almost all the way up to the 1SG to identify this mysterious piece of TA-50
someone had warned me about this, but thanks for having this video to remind me
You're welcome :)
It's is attached to the top of the shoulder straps webbing strap (1 inch strap on outside of shoulder pads) and attaches to the very top of the frame. The green metal piece is on the back side and prevents the 1 inch strap from conning off the frame
Thank you!
Thanks, I knew it had to be something stupid
Thank you Soldier! Turning that crap in tomorrow and had NO IDEA what the heck it was.
+Alvin Wallace Been there, done that - that's why I made the video! :) Glad it helped, though.
Do more.. for the entire list.. people may need instructions like this
I would if it weren't so time-consuming
Does anyone have a full NSN for these? My CIF issues rucks completely dismantled and tells you "don't lose any of this". 3 years later trying to clear...
Ah thank you so much, I hate the supply system
you saved my pillow from getting a serious ass whooping
Is it attached to the ruck or a separate element? Not sure if I'm looking at the right piece...
Disregard.... found it. Stupid thing in essence is PART of the rucksack. Dumb ass CIF
Where on the rucksack are they found?
Top at the straps to frame.
love how they give it some advanced BS name when all it is....is a strap holder. I can't tell you how long I looked at my CIF record wondering what the hell these were.
Now show us how to ranger roll it
i probably already lost that piece
That's what I thought the first time I had to do full OCIE inventory! :) I later figured I should make a video for fellow soldiers in the same predicament
Thanks, I knew it had to be something stupid
