My whole room I’m re organizing and ranger folding all my stay home cloths and not the go out cloths and headed to military school on July 18 and I’ll come back and comment how it went
Thank you so much. I'm leaving for Arizona from Chicago and I can only take 1suit case of clothes and I want to take as much as possible. This is very helpful . Now I'm good to go . Thank you for your service as well.
I'm not sure this packing style minimizes spare, vs. laying shirts folded one over the other. Rolling traps more air inside the short, and cylindrical shapes don't fit neatly in a boxy suitcase. They also leave space between themselves rolls - much like the space between AA batteries if you throw a bunch of them in a ziplock bag. Imagine you could unroll those batteries like flat sheets of paper and stack them - no space left.
I shall be travelling to South Africa from Toronto, Canada soon. Your videos on "Ranger Rolling" clothing have been most informative for packing my luggage. Thanks ever so much!
thank you so much for the ranger roll videos. ....I've been practicing for a kayak camping trip and this is going to help conserve so much space in my dry sack. Brilliant!
Well...I'm going skiing this week, and by watching your videos it has come to the fact that I don't need same big bag as before. Hell, even my wardrobe was a complete mess until now! Thank you for sharing :)
Man I love rolling shirts , pants , socks and all I love the most is seeing alot of rolled up shirt !!! Thanks for making this Video and glad you're serving ! Kudos to you !
I am a 91B Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic, i took all the classes and passed the exams from the Future Soilder website. And i was packing and i use the Ranger roll technique to familiarise myself with it and it save me tons of space on my backpack, thank you for the videos By the way. Since when are you serving and can you please share your experience so far in the ARMY, example what error did you committed that looking back you would want someone to warn you about.
You're welcome. Ranger rolling has helped me a lot, too. Plus, it was the standard for setting up the locker when I went to basic three years ago. Joined as 11X and regretted that choice many, many times... It cost me dearly. Don't get me wrong, it can be fun and all, but I sure wish I did more research and chose a different job. Speaking of which, it's always a good idea to research your future MOS so you know what you're getting into. GoArmy videos won't cut it haha. Anything else?
I'm use to be in the army myself but never come across how to roll up like this. This is really good stuff. Now i can pack my luggage neatly when ever i go for overseas and i can also create more spaces for my wardrobe. Thanks alot. Salute you! One more thing, can you show me how to ranger roll a coverall? Coz it's really long and thick. I'm having a hard time each time i fold it to put in my wardrobe or luggage for overseas work. Thanks again for all those videos on how to ranger roll.
really good videos. i worked along, but mine sure dont look this good. im 63, have been a homemaker all my life and never could i make folding clothes this interesting. thanks!
Take a closer look at my original video about short sleeve shirts, as well as the one for underwear. Hopefully, those will help you out. The Ranger-roll technique is pretty simple, actually: fold up one side, fold the piece of clothing in third, roll it up, and wrap around. That's it. The Army has taught me a lot, but also took a big toll on my health. And, it really left me out in the cold when it came to me fighting for my own freedom from my abusive wife... but that's a whole different story.
Thank you for supporting my channel. What are you having trouble with? Yes, Ranger-rolling works with most types of clothing (except bulky winter clothes), as you can see from my other videos. I just don't have much of civilian clothes. And yes, I am in the Army, serving on active duty.
Thank you. I travel a lot, and my Army friend accused me of packing like the Potato Heads from Toy Story. Haha he is right, but I think your way will improve my style and give me more space.
Congrats! What is your MOS? The main advice I can give you is learn what you can before you ship off: Army Values, General Orders, Soldier's Creed, and other stuff from FutureSoldiers website. When a higher-up is talking to you, just say "Yes/No/Roger, (Drill) Sergeant/Sir" unless they ask a question. Follow the guy in front of you and do what you're supposed to do. I could go on and on with tips, so don't be afraid to ask.
Won't that stretch out the bottom of the shirt? That looked like it had to be pulled quite a bit to come up over the rest of the shirt roll at the end.
I don't know if Uncle Sam would let you do that... I certainly didn't have that option when I signed my contract three years ago. Maybe things have changed. Anyway... computers (or many other tech jobs) are a good choice and will help you out in the future. Don't do infantry or any other combat arms, though. At least not until you've got a taste for what the Army is like. Every MOS "trains for war" so you'll get that, don't worry. Anyway, I could go on, so if you have more questions let me know.
It depends... I haven't noticed any significant damage to any clothes that I've rolled over time. Cotton will stretch out a bit, but if you don't roll too tight that shouldn't be an issue. Non-elastic polyester will just wrinkle, and elastic one shouldn't get damaged at all. P.S. Try at your own risk. I'm not responsible for any damage :)
Does this stretch the shirt out? I've been trying this and it feels like the end portion that you fold around the body of it will get stretched out...?
Good luck buddy! Get ready to learn how to sh*t, shower & shave in 60 seconds, how to hold a full bladder for hours, how to sleep anywhere at any time and in any position, how to stay hungry 24/7, and how to sit around all day just to have an hour or so of actual training... oh yes, "area beautification" and "there's always room for one more" - let me know what you think about those, too. See you on the other side!
hey how is it going i'm planning on joining the Army and was thinking of doing 4 years 2 in Infantry B and 2 years in computers i was thinking of splitting the contracts into 2 years each but was wondering if this would not be such a bad move since i'm getting the best of both worlds in terms of training for war and learning a trade
Yes, although it will be super thick. There's a comment on one of my vids about that. Just make sure to leave plenty of slack to wrap around the roll. ;)
Yea no this did not help either his video is facing the wrong way or idk cuz I’ve tried both ways and once I get to the end mine doesn’t unfolds form the bottom all sorts of wrong ways
Ok......... so i did it to one shirt but didn’t work properly then next shirt doesn’t work at all watched the video like a billion times but doesn’t work, and it was the exact same shirt!!!!!!!! This is dumb it doesn’t work
the time it took to fold the bottom of shirt I had four done, by time he was finished I had seven done,,, I get it has to be slow to show people , but that was slow !
*Proceeds to ranger roll everything in the house*
Rachelle Arthur I did
Couldn’t believe I haven’t thought about ranger rolling anything right now. Just like a halberd, it’s super damn easy and effective af.
I done it

+armygringo thank you sir you helped me start making my room army style! ☺☺☺
@armygringo I find shirts that are thicker hard and can't figure it out but the others are really simple

Thanks for this series of Ranger rolling clothes. Saved me at least 15% in the suitcase.
My two day travel pack which was already light since I am a man turned into a two day travel bag thanks to this. Big like !

All these videos are great thanks I fit so many more items in my saddle bags. Every Biker should watch these!
Many thanks again! The long-sleeved stuff always was a challenge and the various ways I tried didn't work very well. Great job!
Did you find that this stretches out the bottom of your shirts (the part that folds over the whole thing at the end)?
@@corrinnajordan2749 A bit perhaps, but OK for T-shirts,. I don't do it for my "good" shirts as it also creases them.
Man, all of my clothes are smaller than yours, and you still get them to be tighter in the end!
Sawyer Hines Lol practice makes perfect, I guess :)
Thanks .. I forgot all that and this .. been some 30 years.. thanks for leading the way
That was awesome !!!! Can't wait to use these techniques next time I go on holiday!!!!!
Thanks for the props! :) Make sure to share with friends and fam, too. ;)

On an army base, but you have to be in the military first plus you get them free in basic anyway.
does it mess up your clothes?
I'm travelling tomorrow and this could really help out ( + I'm joining the military next year)
THanks man !

Lots of wrinkles, vs. a few long wrinkles if you fold.
This will be great for packing for traveling. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Thank you so much sir

Love from india ☺😊😊
I love your videos, great trip for backpacker also. Thanks!

can you make a video for how to roll long sleeve shirt with hood
He has done with hooded jacket too

Thank you this was very helpful normally it won't work but this did thanks I like And subscribe and turned on my bell notifications

Can this work for combat shirts?
It may be tight but is Very Wrinkled when you unroll it.
+Kizski “kep” Crowley It's a PT shirt, not a button-down. You're going to sweat in it, so wrinkles shouldn't matter.
ima stick to my “throw it wherever” technique

Is there a way to ranger roll a hooded sweatshirt?
Yes, although it will be super thick. There's a comment on one of my vids about that. Just make sure to leave plenty of slack to wrap around the roll. ;)
wont that stretch the shirt?
Yea no this did not help either his video is facing the wrong way or idk cuz I’ve tried both ways and once I get to the end mine doesn’t unfolds form the bottom all sorts of wrong ways

Yes, but so will folding them any other way, ya know?

Nice hack. I have actually a question also- can we do the same thing with hoodies or there's something different?
