I am an Aussie. I love Jim.
Proud to hear this funny, but true stance on this every time it pops up on my feed. Comedians are super witty and intelligent, makes sense that Jim is nailing every point and using FACTS to make those points. Australia has been a better place since John Howard took control of our gun policy, he is a fuckin legend 👏🏼

To be fair it's a logical decision well for most
More of what's causing the problem or less
Out of the 200+countries in the world
      ONLY ONE
      Said
I know how to stop shootings
      GIVE EVERYONE A GUN
THE NRA OF THE USA ARE EVEN WORSE
      TOO many school shootings
      Give the teachers guns
I don't think they remember school like Jim CORRECTLY points out

Enjoyed your reaction. Freedumb is another good one by Jim, also 'Airplane Etiquette', but his absolute best is 'Taking A MD Sufferer To A Brothel'.

I put this comment in Part 1, worth repeating in Part 2:
Jim is a funny guy, but he does exaggerate a bit, firearms have never been banned in Australia.
I’ll go into more details below, but here’s some USA stats from last year:
    * There were approx 640 mass shootings in the USA in 2023.
    * There were 40,000+ firearm related death in the USA in 2023.
    * In the USA there are MORE firearms than people!
Being an Aussie, guess which country I’m going to be safer in? And it ain’t Merica!!
Back to Jim, firearms are not banned in Australia, actually there are more registered firearms here today compared to back in 1996.
    But.....
Since 1996 we have introduced stricter licensing and registration.
Today any Australian can apply for a firearm licence (except for those with a criminal record or a history of mental illness), but you have to have a ‘valid’ reason, such as: sport shooter, hunting, collector, farmer, pest control, etc.
Licensing is also strict regarding the ‘type’ of firearm, eg, semi-auto rifles are restricted to people such as professional pest controllers, you can’t have ‘any’ firearm you want, it has to match the type of licence you have.
The average idiot in the suburbs can’t own a semi-auto firearm, or any firearm, without a valid reason, for obvious reasons!
Self defence is not a valid reason in Australia, we don’t live in fear.
Yes we do have firearms in Australia, but linked to sensible rules and laws, unlike Merica.
    Cheers,

He is not trying to change anything. Do you think Australians give a shit whether things change in the USA? A country on the other side of the planet? He is doing a comedy routine on observations. If things change or not, not his problem.

And maybe he does want change, maybe he doesn’t, no one here can know that. But you thinking people don’t just care about people, that they don’t care about things that don’t affect them directly- that says more about you than it does about anyone else. You should examine that. Setting aside that it DOES affect him lol

You mentioned you had a gun safe with a thumb print and bracelet (I think it was). One question does it also have a silver barrel lock with a short key (in case it looses power). If it does you may as well keep it in a plastic container. Have a look on line for any of the locksmiths who open them in seconds. Any one in your house who knows how to use your a computer can open it and people who brake into houses defiantly do.

    • @7thsealord888
      @7thsealord888 2 місяці тому +1

A huge part of the problem, imo.
Private gun ownership in the USA involves huge amounts of $$$, more than the entire defense budgets of most other countries in the world. Meaning US companies making drug cartel levels of money. Naturally, they safeguard their profits - by paying off politicians and the media, promoting fear and paranoia at every turn, and waving the American flag at anyone who talks about control or registration.

  • @kevingood4644

A point to be made in the people vs the government... Is that most of the soldiers, pilots and technicians in the military. Will defect and refuse to attack their own citizens...
So it's not like the government can utilise the full might of the american military...
But, they can maintain enough loyal controlers of drones and yhe highest end equipment and weapons that the people stand little chance.

    • @capatheist
      @capatheist Місяць тому

The decider will be how much weaponry and equipment can the defecting soldiers commandeer for the resistance
