You are so brave. I would never have the guts to take apart a granny square blanket. But you did, and the sweater looks great!
I kept thinking I hope it wasn't handmade because how depressing to do all that work and have it end up in a thrift store for $5!
    I think too much 🙄

Christmastree advice (also goes for wishing others happy new year): You can leave it up until Three Kings Day (6th of january). That's the official last day of appropriately giving new years resolutions as well as having your christmas tree out, it marks the end of that celebratory period. But it's 2022, nothing's conventional so do whatever you please!

We take down our Christmas tree around 6th of January, but on the other hand, we put it up really early (1st of advent) and we use a real tree, so it usually is super crunchy by January anyway and you kind of dont want to look at it at that point anymore ;) but dont worry, with Christmas lights, we had them on one year until Easter and just by February somebody had the brilliant idea to take them off the electricity at least so that tthey wouldnt light up at least.

Hello Jenna Phipps's, My name is Elsa R. I am 61 years old Single Young Old Women. From out in California. I have Adult Daughter. That gave me a Granddaughter that's now am Adult. I saw this video of yours & liked it very much. Then I thought of 2 suggestions for you. How about using some of the Granny Square Blanket & make a Skirt into it. To have with your sweater. And How about making a little sweater just like your's for Benson & using the Granny Squares, too. But, using just a little bit of them. You probably have more of the blanket, too. Humm. Just a suggestion for you. I knit & crochet, too. OK, I'll talk to you another time. Have a Great Day. Give Benson a Hug, too. Sincerely, Elsa R. (Before the movie, "Frozen" came out). Ha, Ha. Bye.

In Czechia we usually take down the chrismas tree on the 6th January, which is known as "The holiday of the three wise men", you know, those guys who went to give presents to baby jesus? At that day there are usually people working for a charity walking outside dressed like the three wise men and raising money for good causes.

For the sweather: maybe it would be cool to have a three square length all over and use the edge of the blanket as the end of the sweater:)
For the leftover: use them as coasters for hot pans! That's very oldskool!

So cool! If you buy more afghans for future projects, keep in mind that sometimes granny squares are joined ‘as you go’, which is fast and easy for construction, but makes for a more complicated deconstruction. My late mom made a granny square afghan that is beautiful. It’s blue, but I don’t use it because it doesn’t go with our decor. But it *is* a color I would wear, so you’ve got me thinking!

What if you separate the 2 center front squares at the neckline, just undo the seam that connects them about halfway down and then bind them off in your navy blue thread? Think of like a henley neckline without buttons. your neckline would have a little more interest and would fit over your head easier.

I got a thrifted granny square blanket that I want to turn into a sweater and it led me here, even though I was looking for more of a sewing tutorial, so I'm Def gonna take some ideas from here and some from other videos. No one will have the exact blanket so no one will do the exact sweater, but we get ideas from each other. I absolutely love how yours came out. I wanted more of a cardigan but now I'm debating because the collar is so so cute on yours. Great job and thank you for sharing

I’m from New Zealand and here we say “waam bam thank you ma’am” it just hurts my soul when you say “waam bam turkey chicken” it sounds so wrong 😑

I don't know if anyone's confirmed but French for sleeves is indeed "manche(s)" with an s for plural

I use fiskars school scissors to give pilled and fuzzy knits a haircut. I can control them a bit better than sewing scissors. I always have them on hand in my notions bag. I stab myself with the fancier knitting scissors.🤣

My family tradition is to take down the tree on New Years day after I get the pork and saurkraut in the Crock Pot and the Football games are on.Im usually very hungover while I do this.
