    1. Why didn't you model two purlin that runs like in real field?
    2. Why did you break a both top chord and bottom chord at joint if it is single element in real field?

      Thanks for your query dai,
      As i said we can model that purlin but there won’t be significant variation in result as i have done it previously.
      Secondly the basic idea of FEM is to subdivide member as possible it is. To generate accurate results for certain analyses, frames must be explicitly subdivided, or assigned automatic meshing, where the object is handled as a single member, but meshed into multiple segments for analysis purposes.

      1. Its okay to do like that
      2. For this case ;I think we can model as a single element as in field .But it may fail in slenderness ratio.For that we can overwrites the effective length parameter

    For default load combination, do we have to ignore the load combination with negative Wind load (-WL)? Wind is supposed to produce uplift on the truss, but negative WL signifies downward force hence will be added to dead + live load.

      We apply with direction of wind load and that will counter with the sign of load in load combination.

    While designing Truss can we consider bottom cord and inclined rafter as a single link. What happen if we do so?

      You have to consider effective length ratio.

    At 6:13 you have already created struts, but again while creating inclined members you are joining the struct members again. Pls explain.

    How can we make the support as pin joint? Practically they will fix the support. Either they will weld in the base plate or they will anchor.

      And Why K4 is not considered in this design. K4 is also explained in the code. When we consideted Ka, Kd and Kc?

      In case if fully fixity is not achived, then rotation will be allowed in the joint which leada to failure. So just to be in the safe side design member with hinged support.

      Obviously we can do. It is more easy in etabs. But you can’t assign uniform load to frame from area load.

    I thin you have not consider value of A for calculation of F....U have neglected value of A as I can see your calculation is F=(Cpe-cpi)xAxPd but in your sheet i dont see value of A.
