- After the final putt dropped at last year's Charles Schwab Challenge, Gil Hanse and his team moved in to complete a full historic renovation. One of the main goals was to restore the natural look and feel of the greens which had grown tired over the years.
A special thanks to Brian Laurent / The Superintendent Network for the before video and in-progress construction footage.
Also a special thanks to Rich McIntosh and Colonial Country Club for the historic club imagery.

Thank you for a fine report. Historical golf recreations are fascinating and far, far less boring than modern courses that often look very artificial and not at all related to the surrounding terrain.
The modern golf course has too many bunkers. The greens r too elevated. What should be the penalty for missing a green by 10 feet? In my mind the penalty should be u r not on the green, u should have a reasonable chance to chip and putt for par
