Hi! I don't know if you'll see this but this video reminded me how you were asking for opinions regarding the pads project. I think each has its pros and cons. Re-usable is great because it could be used more than once without going to a landfill however there's the added work of having to wash and dry them between uses, so you'd have to have more than one, especially with a heavier flow. I personally as a younger child would probably be happier and more comfortable with disposable. BUT I wanted to put another option out there that I haven't heard you mentioned and that's menstrual cups, like Diva and Luna. It's more expensive upfront but it's something they could have for several years and can be quickly cleaned on the go and at the end of the cycle just boil in water - no joke! Just my suggestion :)
