James...as a veteran of 3 Caminos and countless youtube videos...this was brilliant! The idea of starting your video in your hometown is amazing. Clearly I must visit Bury St. Edmunds! I started calculating the same here in San Francisco, where I have been singing in the choir at Mission Dolores since 1998...averaging perhaps 40 or so Sunday Masses a year...that is a lot. My prayers go with you on this journey! And since my first Camino was when I was 64 and my last at age 70, I have no doubt you will make it. I will look forward to your next videos! Buen Camino!
Thank you very much, I was starting to think my videos were not being watched!! :) I hope you can see where I was coming from with the comparisons between our own St Edmund, with St James. It felt like a natural progression to do the Camino with the first stamp in my pilgrims passport being from the Cathedral in Bury St Edmunds. My friend's daughter completed the Camino last Wednesday 12th June. Have a good time! I liked your video very much! I love the statue of St Edmund and have it as ascreen saver on my phone!
Aww thank you very much. I began actually walking on 19th June and finished on 21st July. It was tough, I must admit, but boy, did I get so much from it. If you like this video, you might also like my other channel, We Love Bury St Edmunds - www.youtube.com/@welovebse
Following your adventure...done similar years ago across France/Portugal border. Interested if times have changed The Basque language was spoken then and they wanted independence Every village had at least one fantastic restaurant...cant wait to see how things are now !
Well thank you very much for your comments. I have finally gotten around to uploading more videos, and they are being premiered today and tomorrow. I daresay, there are STILL more to come :)
