I feel so bad for the mom of the 19 y.o. she KNOWS her daughter is with a predator (been with her since 15 no clue how long he groomed her for) and everyone is telling her she is being an overbearing mother and unreasonable even Sally's so called "expert". Her daughter was with a creep who deserved to have his ass beat and thrown in jail. I hope that girl and her child were able to get away from him eventually.
I mean, you don't know that he groomed her. He may have, but you don't know the details of how their relationship came about. Grooming is a specific thing that tends to be overused, much like "gaslighting" so i am always leery when i see someone use it.
most 15 y.o. arent going out looking for a man damn near 30, unless they want to ask them to quickly buy them some beer and then part ways. Also the way he talks for her, always wants her at his home and knowing where she is/doing at all times, her timid body language, rarely speaking up for herself once he came into the stage, little to no eye contact, etc. All shows signs of him controlling her. Either way he's a predator as he was with her for a few yrs before she was "legal age" and he was in his late 20s then. While I agree the term "gaslighting" is used WAY too much to the point most people have no clue what it actually means. There is a very high chance that this guy groomed her to get his way with her and to still have such control over her. I mean she didnt even say "yes" to his proposal and he had already slipped that ring on and told everyone they were getting married and THEN he goes "you said yes? " and she just nods and then looks back down to the ground. Im def not an expert on this, but I do know signs of abuse and control only because this is how I acted with my ex/daughter's father who severely physically, emotionally, and sexually abused me for 6 yrs (he's serving 14 yrs in max prison for human trafficking for what he forced me into, manslaughter, gang related charges, and a strong armed robbery where he beat the women so bad she was placed in ICU).
The nineteen year old did NOT seem at all excited about getting an engagement ring. She barely even looked at it!
Something off about them I think he abuses her or she just dooes't want to marry him because she hasn't had time to explore

For some reason, I feel like the Grandma is being a little manipulative and trying to gain extra sympathy from the audience. I understand that she’s hurt because she wants the best for her grandson. But, she’s very nasty towards his girlfriend and never tried talking to her. Instead, she’s very negative towards the girlfriend every time.

Now that im 51 of all the talk shows I've watched; when I look back, Sally was the best by far. She was such a help more than about the drama ( I now realize was what it seemed to be ) My opinion. I think Ricky Lake has come out of the '90s as the talk show champion. (Sure Jerry Springer, but he was in a real circus league of his own.) Among what you would call respectable talk shows, I think RL wins. Ok ok, after Oprah perhaps, but she too graduated into something her own in the '90s, coming *from* the 80s. Started to have this big social narrative element that made it almost like 60 Minutes or The View.

I’m m shocked at the comments. How can a 20 year old and a 40-50 year old have a relationship?? In most cases it fails! Most relationships tend to fail so how can a 20 year old with a 40-50 year old last? They’re at a different stage in life! It’s different if it was maybe a 25-30 year old with someone 10-15 years older since our brains are fully developed by than. It’s important to be mindful of this.

I'm sorry but I would go off. If any young adult tried to get with my old mother father or grandparents I would have to put my foot down. I wouldn't care if they dated but you're not going to take the families inheritance. Too many times this happens when people remarry and the biological family who are on good terms are disinherited. I've seen this amongst my in-laws. People get remarried and have blended families and biological family gets left out of the will. A lot of times it goes like this: husband dies before the new wife and he had a lot of property before he married her. They are only married up to 10 years and she came into the marriage with almost nothing. He leaves everything to her in the will but he would also like his children to inherit after she dies but she changes the will to disinherit his children and only her children inherit all the property that the husband accumulated before he met her. That's complete bullshit. I also suggest if anyone reading this is in this position with blended families you better go sit down with a lawyer to make sure your will is ironclad and make sure that your family is not disinherited.
