Chill Out, Ya Pretentious Film Snob! (A Comeback Skit)

  • Ladies and gentlemen, P.M. Turner is back, and better than ever . . . maybe? This comeback video is basically a sequel to "The Personal Struggles of a Classic Film Fanatic," a video I made two years ago. Along with that, it also points to some huge potential changes for the kind of content you'll see on my channel in the coming months.
In this 10-minute skit, parody, satire, or whatever you'd like to call it, I'm again playing the two halves of my brain, old-fashioned and modern. Only this time, my old-fashioned half is on the verge of a breakdown, while my modern half is less cringe, way more confident, and just as snarky.
Is this an official comeback? Will I be making new videos and dropping them more consistently? I'd like to say yes, but considering that life is such a finicky thing, only time will tell. I do, however, have high hopes. And always remember to "keep it reel," folks!

Psychotic! What could be better than PM Turner? That's easy: TWO PM Turners. I find it dubious that this installment of yours was made after viewing Split. Could it be there are a dozen or more PM Turners waiting in the wings? Hmmmm... 😉

I have to say I love the new P.M. Turner! Not to say I didn’t love the old P.M. Turner, but I truly love how she is evolving. Had me cracking up the back-and-forth.
But I would have to agree that a classic has to stand the test of time.

I found this to be a very interesting watch. I kind of feel like, I've gone down this road too this year. For me, I started the year watching, "Only Murders in the Building." And rediscovered how much, I love Steve Martin's movies. I began rewatching a lot of his work and I would say, a lot of his earlier 80's movies, could be considered "modern classics." Like Planes, Trains and Automobiles, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," "Roxanne."

@@aswells84 Thank you! It's nice to hear that you relate. I was worried I might distance some of my current audience by my new interests, but it's good to hear I'm not alone. Funny you mention Steve Martin, I just watched "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" tonight! I've heard that it's a good Thanksgiving movie, so I finally gave it a go. A very funny little movie, and John Candy was also great.

@@oldhatcinema It's good to discover and explore new things. You learn so much about what interest you and find, something new about yourself as well. In some ways, your newer interest might somehow, be connected to your older interests as well. I remember us talking about "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" a while back and you saying, you hadn't yet watched it. I'm glad to hear, you have now and liked it. It's such a touching, good feeling movie with some hilarious moments in it. I love watching it. John Candy was a treasure, that is so dearly missed today. If you haven't seen him in "Uncle Buck," I highly recommend watching it. As for Steve Martin, his Father of the Bride movies, are a lot of fun. I find them to be better, than the original Spencer Tracy movies. ❤

@@oldhatcinema The more things you find interesting, the more you will learn about yourself, and discover a lot of amazing stuff. It's amazing how new interests, can find a way to reconnect, to an old interest of yours as well. I'm so glad to hear you watched "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." I believe we were talking about it earlier this year. I find it to be such a sweet little movie, with a lot of hilarious moments throughout it. John Candy was a treasure and so dearly missed today. He left this world, way too early. If you haven't yet watched him, in Uncle Buck. I highly recommend checking it out, it's probably his best movie role. As for Steve Martin, his Father of the Bride movies are fantastic. I find them to be, a lot better than the original Spencer Tracy movies from the 50's, which is usually not something that happens.

Very cute set up here. Enjoyed it! I think the classic film subject is simply a matter of opinion. To me there are very few modern classics. But nothing wrong with being open minded about it either. Thanks for the chuckle. 🤭
