Your local and friendly classic film fanatic, looking to spark further interest in the Golden Age of Hollywood. Bringing a little of 1939 into the 21st century.
Here you'll find tributes to great actors and films, fun movie clips, some live reviews, and all sorts of other cool movie-related content. If it's classic Hollywood, I'm all about it. Remember folks: stay cool, stay classic!

Moonlighting Tribute | Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd | Girl
My second Moonlighting video! I'm really happy with the way this one turned out, and I tried to give it an overall happier vibe than my first one. David and Maddie (Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd) had amazing chemistry and a love story that alternately made me laugh and cry. Whether they loved or hated each other, they were ultimately meant for each other.
Keep an eye out for one more Moonlighting video, to be posted on my channel sometime in the near future, and in the meanwhile, please like and subscribe!

A Tribute to the Films of David Lynch
Переглядів 1,2 тис.21 день тому
The world lost a brilliant, talented man when David Lynch died today. I tried to make a tribute in his honor; I don't know how good it came out. I've literally been on a four-hour editing marathon and my brain is fried. I tried to include clips from most of his films, plus some memorable moments from "Twin Peaks." I tried to go light on the "Twin Peaks" clips since I plan to make a separate tri...

No stinkin' way that just happened! I made this little video several years ago, and when I initially tried to post it, UA-cam blocked it because of the Beatles song I used. Today while working on some other video editing, I decided to see what would happen if I tried re-uploading it, just for kicks, and here it is! They're now allowing it to be posted on UA-cam - for the time being. Ya never kn...
Moonlighting Tribute | Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd | Mr. Feel

This, ladies and gentlemen, is my all-time favorite show. Forget the brilliance of The Twilight Zone, momentarily shelve the epic weirdness of Twin Peaks, because no other show has brought me so much joy, laughter, and comfort as Moonlighting, which ran from 1985 - 1989 and gave Bruce Willis his first big break. It's just a blast to watch the sparks fly between Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd,...

Ladies and gentlemen, P.M. Turner is back, and better than ever . . . maybe? This comeback video is basically a sequel to "The Personal Struggles of a Classic Film Fanatic," a video I made two years ago. Along with that, it also points to some huge potential changes for the kind of content you'll see on my channel in the coming months. In this 10-minute skit, parody, satire, or whatever you'd l...

As we now enter that spooky time of year - that time when it is best to curl up on the couch with a soft blanket, your favorite person, and a beverage of choice - this is my gift to all of you who enjoy a rollicking good ghost story. But M. Night Shyamalan's 1999 hit film was so much more than that: it's also a first-rate thriller that packs an emotional punch, and after seeing it twice now I r...

I gave this gorgeous fantasy/romance another watch several weeks ago, and found it delightful. I particularly enjoyed the performances of Joseph Cotten and Ethel Barrymore. After watching it, I kept coming back to the idea of doing something with the song "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane. It seems like that song has been bandied about and used practically everywhere lately. Am I the only one w...

Happy Valentine's Day to one and all! I tried to take a fresh approach with this video, highlighting some lesser known movies while also throwing in a few especially deserving bigger ones. My goal was to use mostly movies that were newer to me, ones I either hadn't seen before now or hadn't seen in a very long time - or at least, haven't used in a video edit many times before. I hope you enjoy ...
Lionel Barrymore on Edward R. Murrow's "This I Believe"

This is a fascinating radio tidbit from sometime in the early 1950s. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a specific air date. Asked to give an essay addressing his personal beliefs about life, faith, and values, this was the great Lionel Barrymore's answer. It provides us, his fans, with a rare glimpse into Lionel's mind and worldview, as he speaks with more candor, honesty, and clarity than I have ...

In his own images, music and words. Beautiful and very moving. Thank you.
Thank you so much, I'm glad you found it touching.
What's YOUR greatest movie ever made??
Thank you for this beautiful work Could you please remind me what the music is?
@@Lohengramm999 Thank you so much for watching! Yes, sorry, I should have put that in the video description. I'll add that in. Thank you for the reminder. I used music that David Lynch composed himself. It's called "Night Bell with Lighting" and is from the album "Crazy Clown Time."
@oldhatcinema thank you ❤️
Sobbing 💔
@@zaradavisrecords The loss of him is tragic, but his memory will live on.
Great clips, though spoilt by distracting song. Only needs the dialogue or moonlighting theme. Nothing else.
@@summitwonder That's fair, as you're entitled to your opinion. I personally think there's so many fun songs that fit their relationship, so I have a couple more tributes in the works. But, to each their own. Thank you for watching, anyway.
@ no worries, thanks for putting the clip on though. Was still fab, bringing back great memories of an iconic show. Appreciated
Not bad! Glad to know you guys have enough curiosity and intelligence to know about this forgotten but brilliant star.
@@neildickson5394 Thanks so much for watching our silly little shenanigans. 😜 Judy Holliday was indeed brilliant, and for my part, she is not forgotten.
so cute! good job on this!! :)
@@elvisobsessor Thank you ever so much, I'm delighted you enjoyed it!
River is spot on.
I still haven’t watched that movie straight through. It just doesn’t hold my interest. I really doubt there is just one movie that is the greatest anyway. That’s as much of an opinion as who is the greatest actor.
@@beacee Excellent points! As I said in the video, there simply cannot be one greatest movie ever made.
That’s quite a collection! Do you collect any Silent films?
@@beacee Indeed I do! The silent films in my collection include many of Charlie Chaplin's more well-known works such as "The Kid" (1921), "The Gold Rush" (1925), "The Circus" (1928), and "City Lights" (1931). I also have Buster Keaton's "The General" (1926), and several obscure Lionel Barrymore silents, including "The Bells" (1926) and "The Show" (1927).
Great choices!
If you see a movie you'd like me to make a video on - whether a tribute with music, a review, or something else - please leave a comment and let me know! I'm in need of new video ideas. I couldn't fit the entirety of my collection into one short, so I will say I have WAY MORE movies than just what is shown here. If you have a movie in mind, but don't see it in the collection, just ask me. As far as movie tributes go, feel free to also suggest a song to go with the movie . . . as long as it's clean! 😉
You should totally do The Chosen!❤
@graciekgirl I appreciate the suggestion, but unfortunately I don't think I'd be able to, largely due to my personal opinions about the Bible being portrayed by movies and shows. That's all I'll say here, but if you have any questions feel free to message me privately anytime. Hope you understand. 😊
How was your Christmas? Miss you!❤

I found this to be a very interesting watch. I kind of feel like, I've gone down this road too this year. For me, I started the year watching, "Only Murders in the Building." And rediscovered how much, I love Steve Martin's movies. I began rewatching a lot of his work and I would say, a lot of his earlier 80's movies, could be considered "modern classics." Like Planes, Trains and Automobiles, "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," "Roxanne."
@@aswells84 Thank you! It's nice to hear that you relate. I was worried I might distance some of my current audience by my new interests, but it's good to hear I'm not alone. Funny you mention Steve Martin, I just watched "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" tonight! I've heard that it's a good Thanksgiving movie, so I finally gave it a go. A very funny little movie, and John Candy was also great.
@@oldhatcinema It's good to discover and explore new things. You learn so much about what interest you and find, something new about yourself as well. In some ways, your newer interest might somehow, be connected to your older interests as well. I remember us talking about "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" a while back and you saying, you hadn't yet watched it. I'm glad to hear, you have now and liked it. It's such a touching, good feeling movie with some hilarious moments in it. I love watching it. John Candy was a treasure, that is so dearly missed today. If you haven't seen him in "Uncle Buck," I highly recommend watching it. As for Steve Martin, his Father of the Bride movies, are a lot of fun. I find them to be better, than the original Spencer Tracy movies. ❤
@@oldhatcinema The more things you find interesting, the more you will learn about yourself, and discover a lot of amazing stuff. It's amazing how new interests, can find a way to reconnect, to an old interest of yours as well. I'm so glad to hear you watched "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles." I believe we were talking about it earlier this year. I find it to be such a sweet little movie, with a lot of hilarious moments throughout it. John Candy was a treasure and so dearly missed today. He left this world, way too early. If you haven't yet watched him, in Uncle Buck. I highly recommend checking it out, it's probably his best movie role. As for Steve Martin, his Father of the Bride movies are fantastic. I find them to be, a lot better than the original Spencer Tracy movies from the 50's, which is usually not something that happens.
I have to say I love the new P.M. Turner! Not to say I didn’t love the old P.M. Turner, but I truly love how she is evolving. Had me cracking up the back-and-forth. But I would have to agree that a classic has to stand the test of time.
That means a lot, thank you so much! 💖
All well and good but please never forget Lionel Barrymore!!
@@palemap3377 As long as I am alive, Lionel will never be forgotten. Still the greatest ever, in my opinion. ⭐
@@oldhatcinema Thanks, I'm glad he still has fans. I agree with your opinion of him! BTW, I like Bruce Willis too ;-0
A classic you ask! how about unique, acting, interesting, and well written. time has no bearing
@@jcrider3656 Sounds about right to me! Fantastic answer 👌
Very cute set up here. Enjoyed it! I think the classic film subject is simply a matter of opinion. To me there are very few modern classics. But nothing wrong with being open minded about it either. Thanks for the chuckle. 🤭
@@beacee I totally agree with you - or at least, half of me does. Thank you for watching, and fear not: the majority of content on my channel will still be classic related. I just wanted to give myself an opening for branching out to other subjects if and when the urge hits. 😁

@@CrazyStoneTiger My pleasure! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and found something meaningful in it. Thanks for watching and commenting!
This is the first time I've seen this. The fact that Barrymore, Howard and Rathbone are all essentially playing teenagers is perhaps a hysterical thought for modern audiences to swallow. That of course is beside the point as this is Shakespeare as performed by master thespians.
@@peterraymond8470 Excellent observations! While I probably wouldn't hesitate to agree there was a lot of miscasting in this movie, it truly is a treat to see such respected and phenomenal actors in the roles. As hammy and over-the-top as Barrymore's performance was, it is nonetheless wildly entertaining.
Awesome film; one of the greatest.
@@jeffreysokal7264 Indeed!
Many thanks. Love this video. I admit I've never clicked with Bette Davis, although she is a great actress. Now, I LOVE BART MARSHALL! He deserved an Oscar if only for Little Foxes. And that is just one performance. He ranks with David Langton, Richard Basehart (early), Curd Jurgens (early) and the mighty George Sanders (anytime). Mostly underrated, underappreciated and generally typecast until you truly watch and see the spark. Then you know. The same applies to creators such as you. Slight change to the fabulous song -- this world will eat you up. And it is really big on typecasting. Again -- thank you.
@@noraedwards3419Oh my goodness, thank you for one of the absolute nicest comments I've ever received! I really appreciate your taking the time to share your thoughts. Finally finding someone who shares my constant soapbox of "Bart should've won an Oscar for 'The Little Foxes' " makes me want to shout, "Hallelujah!" But that's probably overkill. 😂 I also went on a (very) mini rant about that in this "unpopular opinions" short I made a while back: ua-cam.com/users/shortsbiDlllNrP5M?si=52I2hG476-SS5MI_ I'm so glad you liked the video.
