There are two main things that would "justify" the remake: (1) Make a remake that is actually graphically honest to the original (think 343GS) and (2) Include new cut content / significant additional content (more terminals? )
CE with the exact same art style as the original but graphically updated with everything they wanted to add in the game but had to cut reintegrated with added plot and cinematics from the books is all I want. I want it to be just as bright and colorful and Y2K as the day Bungie released it in 2001 just hella high quality.
Real question is how are they going to handle the flood. CE isn’t overly gory, but are they going to make them scary enough? Will it have an M rating and does it even need it. I can’t take any of these leaks seriously until we get a proper announcement on the plans 343 has for the next game
I just hope they're not cartoony and covered in glowing orange bulbs like they've been doing recently. Really just reminds me of Sunset Overdrive lmao.
Well, that's my reason for wanting this remake/reremaster to happen. Anniversary edition was... kind of a betrayal to the proper image of CE, and there are people out there who think that newer graphics or comparatively better graphics are, well, better. Anyhow, I just think it's a shame that Anniversary had to be some people's first experience for playing CE...
halo infinites sprint-slide-clamber iteration would work well on the ce movement speed and acceleration base. slightly expanding the sandbox with some reach weapons would work well too.
If there is a Halo 7, it probably will not follow or finish the story of infinite, which in my mind is a waste. As much as I disliked infinite, I want it to actually finish for once.
@@clan741 I wouldn't say "never" as long as the original is still available and feasibly playable. Because *sometimes artists find good ways to pay homage to the original while updating it sensibly in ways that don't detract or alter the feel or premise of the original -- and we get a good remaster. ...sometimes. But that means it's doable. But it also takes the right team with the right heart and motivation. That's everything right there.
There's also the question of art style vs. graphical fidelity, if that makes sense. Halo, but especially CE, has a very distinct and strong art style, yet the clips used in this video to showcase UE5 reek of a level of graphical detail that may not necessarily be compatible with Halo's art style. I always roll my eyes whenever I see a video of things like "I REMADE MARIO IN UE5" and it's just Mario in an overly-detailed environment with crazy lens flares and realistic water. Sure, the fidelity is crazy good - but do rocks with 10k polygons and water with realistic ripples effects fit within the art style of a Mario game? No, I wouldn't say so, and I worry about what might happen to CE's art style in this remake, if it really is one.
This isn't even worth discussing. You can increase the graphical fidelity to unimaginable degrees without needing any changes to art style. What aspects of Halo: CE are you even thinking of? Have you not seen the Mario movie? I can't believe there are people who don't understand this.
They just need to match the color pallette to original CE and not make the environments too busy looking. Hopefully the artists will understand that alot of times it's perfectly okay to just have a plain gray wall without some over the top design on it or a blue tint.
@@Arander92I think I get what he tried to say. Its not necessarly the art style. Its the design of the overall atmosphere. This blocky, grey world with mist in the distance. It definately is the factor why Halo CE has a distinct feel to it. Replicating this in a Modern Engine with high graphical fidelity and many details is not the same. Looking at the Levels and areas of CE you wont have that many details, the levels are more or less empty. But thats exactly what makes the eerie feel. This is an Installation which is uninhabitat since thousands of years. I kinda feel its like with old source maps from css or cs 1.6. They have this atmosphere to them where your brain starts to imagin things and interpret the world and not get to overwhelmed by details and high quality.
@@bigdaddynero Of course you can increase fidelity without changing art style, nobody sad you couldn't. Yet we still see tons of remasters with overly busy art style & poor visual design choices. So it IS worth discussing because it's not about what the technology can do, it's about the deliberate design choices being made.
My biggest worry is that the "need" for a remake is a cash grab ploy, riding off lonetimes fans wants/nostaligia baiting. And that they wont do the game justice in improving it, just using it as a tool for quick microtransaction farming.
@@blzultimate3495 I do have to admit, it was pretty close and I didn't mind the graphics at all. It wasn't all shiny and new age. It looked like an updated CE. Everyone said it looked like shit for a next gen game but they were going for a certain look.
Appealing to “modern audiences” is what made Halo the bland disjointed garbage that it’s been for the past decade. When a studio doubles down on its own formula and unique vision, those who appreciate it will follow. Helldivers 2 is a great example, I hope the remake has faith in the Halo IP and does something unexpected for once.
@@bigdaddynerothey follow the enhanced mobility trend of the time… they didn’t double down on halo 4 as they completely changed the mobility again and got rid of loadouts from halo 4.
@@bigdaddynero they don’t. Halo 4 played a lot like cod. Halo 5 doesn’t play like cod, it plays like halo with enhanced mobility. 343 didn’t double down on their cod like gameplay from halo 4.
I’ve been a life long fan of both Microsoft and PlayStation. Halo and Gears of War being two of my favorite Xbox titles. I’m fine with more players getting to experience Halo CE.
I feel like the main reason why sprint is so hated in the Halo community is cause it was first introduced as a spartan ability in Reach and not a default feature.
I could be wrong, but I was under the assumption that Bungies had a working sprint feature in Halo 2....but it was scrapped due to level structure in MP...same thing in Halo 3....I could've sworn that was something they were pushing for.
The main reason why sprint is hated is that it fundamentally changes the core gameplay in such a significant way that it simply does not feel like Halo in comparison to the original trilogy. Bungie’s biggest mistake was letting that cat out of the bag imo
I'm all for a remake I just really hope they try to add in cut missions or parts from the book. Maybe even give us some Arbiter missions against the flood.
Microsoft is gonna f it up. That's what's gonna happen. I loved Halo, but it's just in such a crap state. The only reason Halo is pushed out the door and onto shelves in the first place is to make money. There is no passion that is put into the franchise anymore. As a fan, I've loved Halo. But I can't keep holding hope for a doomed franchise. If Halo was given to a different company, my word would be different. Optimistic even. But 343 and Microsoft have proven time and time again they cannot make a good/full product, only half sends.
As long as those levels are tertiary to the OG campaign that is already there, I'm all for it. Make them unlockable missions (like CEA's terminals) that you can only play after you beat the main campaign. That way, none of the cutscenes or levels have to be altered.
@@Digidragon55 I would love that. Especially during missions like two betrayals, where the flood and sentinels are thrown in the mix. Out of curiousity, how do you feel about sprint/clamber and equipment being there? I'm not sure about my position so I want to ask around.
After the smashing success of the Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 remakes, why shouldn’t CE get a remake of its own? It only makes sense considering the potential goldmine 343i has at their fingertips. They could incorporate story moments from The Flood book and other places from the expanded lore. They could revive cut content that was originally meant to be in the game. They could add in enemies, weapons, vehicles, and multiplayer modes from future Halo games. Who wouldn’t want an official version of CE Firefight?
"Modern audiences can't enjoy a shooter without sprint" is such a meme. There are so many popular modern shooters that don't use sprint at all. CS2, the newer Doom games, Overwatch, etc. Plenty of older shooters that don't have sprint are still popular and well-beloved today as well. Hell, I got some of my friends into Halo for the first time back when MCC released on PC, and not one of them complained about the lack of sprint in the older titles. There are so many other things they could change or improve on in a CE remake that would still keep the spirit of the original game, you don't need to add sprinting.
Honestly, there's pretty much nothing that needs to be "changed". The only thing they should do is add things that would support what has been there since 2001
@@Arander92 Making some of the levels less repetitive, toning down how many rocket flood there are, and adjusting the movement/physics to feel closer to H2/H3 would be nice. Also maybe don't make barely moving vehicles instantly kill anything it touches lol.
@@RednekGamurz But then you run into pacing issues. Certain lines of dialogue are triggered by getting to certain points in the level. How do you preserve those moments while changing the layout of levels. I just feel like this is a slippery slope and we’re better off just not going down it. It’s much healthier to love something warts and all
@@Arander92 Arguably. That's a good point, but at the same time what's the point of a remake if you aren't willing to change some things? Why not just play the original game at that point?
What needs to change regarding the mp 1. Make needler useful 2. Fix the spawn system so 4v4s don’t suck 3. Make vehicles not kill you by tapping you Optional 1. Add the energy sword 2. Make the jumping feel less floaty 3. If you’re going to add more weapons then have them follow the philosophy behind halo ce where every weapon can have a use and it doesn’t have to be damage potential.
Im just tired of playing the same game over and over again. Can we get something new AND good ? I don't see the point playing AGAIN the game, after playing it thousand times already. Maybe for newcomers or for the nostalgia rush, but i'll pass on this one.
My biggest bet is like SVP mod from CE, is the direction they should take the campign, same story more sections, weapons and related events as new missions
I think they should just do what bungie intended but was forced to change because of time and limitations. All of the cut missions, vehicles, weapons, enemies. Everything.
I don’t understand why people are getting so negative about this all of the sudden. People were asking for it for ages and initially people sounded hyped when it leaked. But a few big creators said it was a bad idea and then all of the sudden everyone is
Because now they want to make it about silver team from the Halo TV show and not about Blue team now, I was all about it until I heard that. If Blue team gets retconned and replaced by Silver team and Pablo Shreiber becomes the new voice actor for Chief I’m done Halo for Infinite. I’ve been a Halo fan since 2004 but I don’t know if I can call myself a fan anymore…
@@maricost8303yep that guys got it all wrong as far as I know 343 doesn’t want anything to do with the show, nor are they connected to it and they’ve openly made fun of it sometimes
A remake definitely makes the most sense but also shouldn't even be a plan right now unless they plan on changing some story. Stranger Things have happened and hopefully they just get a team that is just that when it comes to the game as a whole.
I still don't get why sprinting is still a point of contemption with the community, is one of the few good things 343 added to the games. You know, it would be weird for a super soldier to not be able to run...
If you had stopped at ADDING new things to the levels, I would agree with you, but then you had to and start talking about changing levels and making them into COMPLETELY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES! This is SOOO frustrating. Why?? Why do you guys INSIST on changing things that don't need to be changed?? They could easily add new areas to these levels without altering anything about the base design, but you guys are so fixated on wanting NEW STUFF that you're willing to make this a different game just so you can get your fix. You have way too much faith in modern game developers. It WILL be inferior to what we got in 2001. You want something new so badly? Then focus on whatever halo 7 is gonna be. Don't ruin this opportunity for a faithful remaster of CE to do it. CEA was an abomination. This is a chance to correct that error. Adding stuff that SUPPORTS what is already there is a GOOD thing. ALTERING what is already there just cause you've played CE a thousand times is a BAD thing. It just comes off as selfish. Wanting to deprive newcomers the opportunity to experience what we did in the beginning; just cause you've all grown bored of it. I suppose you want them to hire new voice actors to re-record dialogue for the campaign too, even though that's absolutely unnecessary, since the script and voice performances are already there. You guys constantly talk about wanting Halo to do well so its audience can broaden, but somehow that doesn't apply to updating something we know is really special. We apparently MUST alter that experience from the ground up. I don't understand any of you Halo UA-camrs anymore. This is the exact reason I hope it's NOT a remake. Halo has been plagued by this urge to just change things for the sake of change ever since Bungie left. It's clear to me that this community can't handle the concept of change. 343 wielded it like a baby playing with a gun, and now We are giving in to the same mind virus.
They’re going to add sprint, bring equipment, make most weapons balanced off bloom and range instead of ease of use, the gap between the perfect ttk and average ttk will be short, etc. They’re going to ruin the best halo sandbox. Bloom has only been present on the magnum if you held the trigger instead of tapping it and that’s it. Spread and bloom are not the same thing.
Have you played Ruby's CE rebalanced mod? That's how I would remake CE, maybe add a couple of levels too. The mod will most likely be superior to the 343 remake (not hard considering their track record)
I really disagree with the argument for modern audiences expecting sprint. Some of the most popular shooters of the last little while (Overwatch and Counter Strike to name a few), have not had sprint (or clamber for that matter). It's definitely rare for a game nowadays to not have it, but I think 343 needs to realize that Halo, especially a remake of Halo 1, is DEFINITELY one of those few exceptions. If the have sprint in the multiplayer, assuming this will have one, every single map will need to be completely overhauled to accommodate for it.
They could add in cut content like missions, armors, etc. Also the inconsistency from Reach to CE is still goofy to me,even with CE:Anniversary. They could fix alot of that.
As long as they're bonus missions that don't interfere with the original campaign. Nothing from the base game should be changed to accommodate any new stuff
Or do the Infinite thing with making sprint basically just more of a prerequisite for sliding instead of just a movement boost, it doesnt have that much speed that you could just play without it but it does let you maneuver around more because of slide. I'm not really that affected by the lack of sprint, CE in any universe is probably gonna be my favourite Halo game. But especially with modern graphic capabilities, it feels _weird_ not to have sprint or rather the ability to move like "in real life", or in a way that feels fluid. And if you think about it, itd fit well with how a Spartan should be depicted. Just that 5's was a bit too far for me since it felt like you integrated something into the formula instead of adding on to it. I think by far Infinite does this "advanced" movement the best since it adds to the gameplay. Basically, look at the sort of interview trailer thing for the new Black Ops game, that "omnimovement" thing, just making the game feel more fluid is plus points for me since it just fits right in a modern game with modern capabilities.
However, since this is a remake/remaster of CE, this may not be the right answer for it unless its leaning more on the remake side. Well, as long as they get the feeling and atmosphere right.
@@CommissarChaotic No, 100% do not do sprint like Infinite. The less of that dogshit game that makes it into others, the better. Do it like Reach where it's a pick up and not built-in. Or even better, make it built-in and the default toggle for matchmaking is set to off, that way you have sprint in the game, just not in matchmaking.
If there was any one thing they could do with CE that would get me interested in it, it would be to create a seamless experience throughout the campaign. I'm picturing the first two missions going pretty much as-is. But when you emerge from the Forerunner Structure in Halo, time has moved to sunset. You fly directly from Halo to Truth and Reconciliation, and night falls on the trip. After saving Keyes, you fly to Alpha Base in the Spirit, making it at sunrise, and get a new base-defense mission to bridge the gap to Silent Cartographer. After that there's an underground Pelican mission (say, something happens with Echo 419 on the trip, or she's been flying non-stop since you landed so you take over the controls while she gets some shut-eye). Then you get Assault on the Control Room, after that mission's normal ending, you head back out in time for sunset and there's an additional section where Marines are brought in to fortify the structure and it gets attacked by Covenant. That will lead to you boarding Echo 419 and heading off to 343 Guilty Spark in time for night to fall again (perhaps with an on-rails turret section in the Pelican on the way there). The rest of the game pretty much plays out the same, teleporting across the ring between levels up until the end of Keyes. Between Keyes and Maw there will be an additional Banshee level. The Truth and Reconciliation (ship) being withing a Banshee mission of the Pillar of Autumn's crash site makes a lot of sense to me. The Covenant would want a foothold near that crash site, and Keyes went down with the Autumn and was brought to the Truth and Reconciliation, so having the Truth and Reconciliation (mission) and Keyes take place in the same canyon location as the Maw as a sort of retcon is an easy one to make. They could even let us see the Pillar of Autumn crash site in the background and add new dialogue during certain parts of those missions to make it clear that's where we are earlier in the campaign. Basically if all is done right, the cutscenes and new missions should blend one level directly into the next, so it feels like you never lose a blink of Master Chief's journey on the ring.
The only reason sprint became "expected" was because player movement speed in games was continually brought down to the point that it became a requirement vs just returning that speed and control back. It's such an annoying design and incorporation of unneeded mechanics. Just restore our natural speed to the sprint speed and it wouldn't need to be there.
@@3lectric220 I do understand because a lot of people rely on nostalgia and 343 knows this. Halo is too big to keep releasing remakes and remasters when we've only had 2 games in the last 7 years, one being an RTS.
343 does the total opposite of what people want and infinite has 100 percent shown that and shown who they really are. CE remake would be cool, but it has to be done right and 343 can't do anything right. "modern audiences", just that alone tells me it is going to bomb hard with most of the Halo fans, except newbies and people who haven't played Halo before.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was another remaster. We are in an era of gaming where little work is put into a game and then they just put micro transactions to make money. If gaming companies put time into making really good games, they will make more money then any amount of micro transactions can make them.
343 and MS have made so many decisions with this franchise over the last decade that made no sense for Halo so who’s to say they won’t make another dumb decision by just doing another remaster of Halo CE but for the PS5. Never put faith in 343 or MS when it comes to Halo until we see an actual product. Also just caving in and accepting that things like Sprint will be in this possible remake? This is the reason why 343 and MS have been able to get away with so many stupid decisions over the years because the fans/community dont push back hard enough on this stuff and they just feel comfortable implementing shit that Halo fans never asked for. Have a back bone and push back against stupid decisions like implementing sprint into classic Halo or they will keep making stupid decisions.
They can add a feature where you deactivate the sprint!! Or have an option where you can click Classic mode or Remake mode. Simple tweaks like that come along way servicing the new modern fans & OGs like me 😎 add achievements like “complete the whole campaign on classic mode on legendary” or “complete the whole campaign on remake mode on legendary”
Remakes are typically a make or break with video games. As time goes on, a game becomes iconic and loved by a community such as Resident Evil in 1996. But six years later, a remake comes out that not only improves the immersion and fidelity of a game but brings an overhaul with modern controls, new sounds and effects, OST, etc. Remasters are a tough nut to crack because what is a remastered is typically updating the graphics or fidelity of a game, again Resident Evil took the remake path because it’s a modern take or rewriting of the original. Remaster is basically leaving the original game but updating the engine, the visuals, the technicalities. Should Halo have a remake/remaster? Maybe. I mean the “anniversaries” from Halo CEA and 2 were essentially remasters because they were updated and up to par with modern technology. No added content or rewriting works to the original story. Remakes can make or break a story and the nature of a game. I don’t think a full remake is necessary but perhaps use Unreal Engine to glorify the graphics.
did 343 say this i saw this in an article about them porting old macworld stuff to mcc "The team is not willing to put out half-broken content, so we’ll be fixing stuff" okbuddy
A halo CE remake would need a REmake kind of dedication/skill/love for the bungie halos that 343 is completely lacking, given their track record. I would not get my hopes high
This is what halo needs, if they wanna reboot the series. Idc if they need take 3 years to do it. If they wanna reboot halo CE, Take the OG game, remake with halo 2 av graphics and then add a 40 hour campaign including lore and stuff from the books. While playing as MC is cool, add the stuff from the books for the marines. Like ODTS securing alpha base, marvin mobuto mission, Jenkins, the marines final stand on halo etc and escaping.
@@jesse76th96if it’s a remake it wouldn’t just be an “old game” with old content, the entire game would get an overhaul. It would look different, play different, the story would likely get expanded. I don’t see an issue with this as long as they stay faithful to the original vision of halo ce
Idk, if it doesn’t take any resources away from the actual newest halo game then why not. Though at the same time I’d argue that halo 2 or even 3 deserve a remake/remaster even more than ANOTHER CE remake.
I definitely agree with everything you said in the video but I just hope this isn't a waste of resources. Like maybe they could have used these resources and time on making the next Halo game or something new at least.
I honestly think this is really timely. UE5 is poised to make Halo LOOK absolutely stunning in ways it never has. I also think 343i is absolutely aware of the complaints surrounding Saber's Anniversary Edition of CE, especially with regard to the drastically altered lighting that didn't do it any favors. Now, my complaint with the Saber remaster's lighting isn't that the lighting doesn't look better (it technically still does) but the fact they put "lights" in places where a light doesn't actually exist in the design of the physical architecture. (And this is the main cause of everything being so much brighter) Not only that, these are usually neon-bright, and these are the lights we mainly take issue with. I think this may have also been an effort (albeit an extremely lazy one) on Saber's part to break some of the repetitiveness of areas like the Library. It might have also been a limitation of the decision to have the Anniversary Edition be a simple remaster with the original game actually still running alongside the update. (Which was honestly a stupid, pointless feature. They could have just let a player pick between original/remaster in the menu before starting the game and been fine) Now if this new release is being made in UE5, then it HAS to be a * remake.* There's no point in using the original assets in 2024; it's just too low-poly now, especially with UE5's film-level polycount capabilities. As for "modernized" gameplay.. well.. look at the DOOM reboots. Sprint = always on, in true "Boomer shooter" fashion. And Doom is doing just fine. Halo can do the same 🤣 (But in all honesty, if they add sprinting I won't be mad.)
In the customisation menu in infinite, the graphics on the Spartan models is extremely good but those really good graphics drop in quality in gameplay.
I love CE, seems like this would be pretty awesome, especially if 343 hands over the reigns to another company to make it like the company that made Halo Wars. Are they still talking about making this?
I like to see it as a remake, like imagine if we'll get some characters from the novels of The Flood and First Strike to show up in the game. And extra weapons or extended areas we can explore further and even being in Unreal Engine sounds good. A remake for the 343 Guilty Spark can be even scarier and maybe a few changes of the looks with flood biomes slowly spreading around the Pillar of Autumn and Truth and Reconciliation since the Flood are trying to get off Installation 04 as possible to spread even further. I like to see how the remake is gonna be. A remastered doesn't work on me since we got that anniversary years ago and it doesn't need another one, so I have hopes for this one. And having it in PlayStation sounds good too so we can get more players to play this game.
No. Nothing from the base game should be changed to accommodate any new stuff. Anything new should be ancillary content. Unlockable bonus missions, ideally
This could be similar to black mesa which is remake mod for the first half life. What im trying to say that we could have a longer story and more stuff to explore and other details.
I feel like since we got a remaster already, and that the game is easily available on Master Chief collection (not lost to old hardware), than a remake is justified! I’d play it!
I really like the idea of doing a remake of Halo, and if it goes really well to continue forward with the rest but have the gameplay and style of them all be very cohesive and similar. Kinda like Resident Evil or Modern Warfare in recent years, no crazy graphical or style changes between games. Also your voice kinda has a master chief under tone to it lol
Veteran Halo Player here, "Remastering" Halo CE a Second time would be a poor investment for Microsoft and 343 Studios. The fact that they've revealed that "The next Halo game will be using Unreal Engine 5" and that they have been working on this for a while now. It leads to believe that this is a Full Remake of Halo CE, utilizing updated UI and Character Movement, updated sound, graphics and everything they learned with the last Halo games. Do I agree with this choice? No, because we have so much more to pursue within the Halo Universe. But does this set them up well if released on PlayStation? Yes. And If this is leading us to the next Narratively forward Halo Game, then lets hope that's the plan. Otherwise, I suspect this may be a last push for seeing if halo will survive or not.
lol my dude I don't think anyone will complain about sprint over all else that could go wrong besides the classics had faster walking speed to make up for the loss, as long as we don't zoom around like old school doom/quake I'd see it as a good addition holding onto power-ups/med-kits would be cool too rather than use them on the spot, hell add the silver team spartans as coop characters like in halo 3 adding no change to the story, maybe standing in the background or whatever during a few cutscenes but I'm done with the new games if we get a silver timeline reboot. I'd legitimately go back to the classics and not look back.
It's crazy that even though we've been arguing about sprint in Halo for half of Halo's existence, I'm still split on it. I can go either way, but I tend to feel like sprint isn't as important as people think it is. Fortnite didn't have sprint when it popped off, Doom/Eternal didn't have it, there's modern examples of successful games just not having sprint, but somehow people act like if every new Halo doesn't have sprint it'll be the death of the franchise. At the end of the day, if the game takes years to add basic franchise tentpoles and locks basic customization like the color white behind a paywall, people won't want to play it. We need a finished game to release in a functional state, bare minimum, sprint or no sprint.
Maybe they should keep halo ce how it was and only change things that actually need change such as making the needler useful by improving the lock on, making vehicles not kill you by tapping you, and fixing the spawn system. They should only change these things and see how successful halo ce is. If it’s successful then 343 will know that people want halo like old halo.
First off: If it's real odds are it won't go to playstation, Media and Playstation fanboys have been running this narrative for over a decade now. Second: There's plenty a remake could do for CE: Forge, better physics (IE: Not dying from stubbing your toe on a parked vehicle), new campaign missions that didn't make the final cut, potentially new weapons too.
If they remake for a “modern audience” like i think they will, i wont be mad ill be apathetic and drop Halo altogether. Back in the day being apathetic about a possible halo3 remake would be unbelievable but thats what its come to unfortunately
Halo CE is honestly good enough as is. It’s not a game held back by technical limitations like Fallout: New Vegas. That being said; a high fidelity smooth and modern version would be cool, especially if it was expanded upon.
yk 343 is running out of money charging people $20 for a red color for armor on HI and then after immense hate for making a bad new halo with barely any story which was horrible they decide to remake a remake of a game. like they couldve done like a Halo CE+ where it furthers the story before 2 or a prequel to Halo Reach, but no theyre gonna take an already built game most of us have played 30+ times and multiplayer 500+ hours. also lets be real. halo ce was a great game for its time but the story was very dry compared to todays games and is mostly just a nostalgia trip. its simple. we want a good story, rewarding gameplay in and out of matches, cool free customization and overall just fun, not this highly competitive, season pass, shtty elden halo ring campaign
I don't want SPRINT. GOD. I hate unlimited sprint too in modern FPS games... Screw modern gaming and modern audience, they don't understand damn about gaming.
@@antoniogc9358how about you go play your old titles, you have halo reach, halo 4, halo 5, and halo infinite. Stop complaining about others complaining about bad mechanics. God.
not to mention them asking/talking about classic halo style playlists. This would be the perfect game to not have sprint and actually get data on what people actually like.
Halo still needs to have THE game that most of the modern and old players can appreciate because, my god, it's been an extremely annoying and toxic era of Modern vs Classic. A remake of the original sounds like a safe option, but we still need to wait to see.
A remake sounds unsafe and sounds like they’re going to add “modern” mechanics which will only worsen the classic vs modern debate. Or it will silence it as the classic fans realize that even the classic games won’t have the classic gameplay feel then there’s no hope so they become apathetic to the franchise which would be worse than hating it because hating atleast shows care.
I have genuinely got a fucking panic Attack every time a modern game says they want to make It accesible for "Modern audiences" Because every time they say that its always a pile of shit regardless of the IP they work with. If they do a remake il give it another year or two after release before il Even consider buying it Just to have plenty of information to go off wether its actually good or its Just More 343 slob.
So did old Fortnite, and overwatch, and csgo. Csgo also did fine with no Aim down sights. Rainbow six siege also did well with no jump button. Sprint isn’t needed in halo just like jumping isn’t needed in rainbow six siege.
They need to take the gears of war approach swallow there minuscule pride and make a gritty prequel game set in the middle of the human covenant war simple then they just need to write a good story
I mean we are super soldiers and we can’t even run while shooting our guns? New halo is ridiculous. Even halo 5 opening cinematic has the super soldiers shooting their guns while sprinting😂
@@3lectric220 😂 because halo 3 is the best halo/ multiplayer game ever created still to this day. Plus halo CE got the 360 remake, and it got redone on the master chief collection, it’s had more then enough.
Halo 1-3 are old enough at this point that an update through graphics, gameplay and story would probably be the right thing to do. Also it might be 343s attempt to either decanonize halo 5s horrible story or actually do something good with it.
Graphics and gameplay, sure, go crazy with it, but the LAST thing Halo 1-3 need is a story update. They're perfect the way they are. The ONLY thing can think of that would be beneficial is adding a Gravemind boss fight to Halo 3's final mission. Decanonizing Halo 5 is a GREAT IDEA though
What gameplay changes does halo ce need; I would love to know what is so outdated about halo ce that needs to change. The only problems I have with it is the useless needler, floaty feeling jumping, and vehicles killing you by touching you.
1:20 I’m sorry, how is that an improvement?? 3:30 “work for modern audiences??” Holy crap Nick you sound like when the Critical Drinker makes fun of Hollywood execs talking about “modern audiences.” Absolutely not. That’s not a win-win, that’s a lose-lose, because neither the og players nor the new players will get to experience Halo. If you change the game, it is NOT the game. It’s just that simple. Level and art designs should not be changed. They should just be improved graphically, and that is not a hard task. Sounds should not be changed at all. You didn’t grow up with Halo: CE, so you don’t know how offensive some of this comes across to fans of the original game
@TheChadPad I think my use of modern audience was off in this video, I more so meant what a modern Halo audience wants from a Halo game. Which to me 343 got pretty right with Infinite but of course that is up to debate. I certainly didn't mean we gotta just cater to the mass gaming audience haha
@@UberNick maybe my read of what you meant by “modern audiences” was off, and I would apologize for that. I get chills when I hear that phrase, seeing what is happening with media writ large. Still, if modern Halo fans want modern features, they can play the modern games. But, if they want to play a fancied up version of the original game, it has to BE that game. Does that make sense? That’s my only point of contention. I think maybe our difference of opinion lies in where the line is drawn with what makes the game…the game. Thanks for what you do Nick. Let differences of opinion be just that, but I appreciate what you do for the community
i dont trust 343 to do a ce remake, they will find a way to butcher it. the game is already available on console and pc might as well port it to playstation
There are two main things that would "justify" the remake: (1) Make a remake that is actually graphically honest to the original (think 343GS) and (2) Include new cut content / significant additional content (more terminals? )
Nah, halo CE needs a grappling Hook mode
CE with the exact same art style as the original but graphically updated with everything they wanted to add in the game but had to cut reintegrated with added plot and cinematics from the books is all I want. I want it to be just as bright and colorful and Y2K as the day Bungie released it in 2001 just hella high quality.
and (3) dont use microtransactions
NGL keeping the CEA terminals would be good tho, those things are PEAK, along side the old Halo-waypoint on XB360.
Those were good days...
ODST2. The story of the ODSTs from the novel The Flood is interesting and has some great moments. I would love to see it expanded on.
We shouldn't even have to question this. They should just replicate the way they are in CE
lmao they are going to remove the flood. :>
Completely unnecessary, 343 is just relying on nostalgia to try to keep the franchise alive, instead of delivering a good halo game.
Imo halo infinite is pretty cool, 4 and 5 were horrendous tho. I hope halo 7 will be good.
If there is a Halo 7, it probably will not follow or finish the story of infinite, which in my mind is a waste. As much as I disliked infinite, I want it to actually finish for once.

They tried that 3 times already. xD
@@enterthehacksall the more reason for them to NEVER touch the classics.
I don’t want it, there is zero chance in hell that 343i can faithfully remake/remaster CE. Leave Chief in freezer.
Nonsense. CE's original art style would do fine in UE5. There's no evidence to suggest it wouldn't translate. CEA, on the other hand...
This is not okay, we will not be okay. 343 cannot replicate Bungie by copying what Bungie has done. They can only fuck it up.
Halo infinite is literally the perfect replication of bungie og art style with modern graphics

Helldivers 2 is a great example, I hope the remake has faith in the Halo IP and does something unexpected for once.

I feel like the main reason why sprint is so hated in the Halo community is cause it was first introduced as a spartan ability in Reach and not a default feature.
Things like sprint and grapple hook always should have just been equipment/abilities. Optional upgrades featured alongside other Options.
I could be wrong, but I was under the assumption that Bungies had a working sprint feature in Halo 2....but it was scrapped due to level structure in MP...same thing in Halo 3....I could've sworn that was something they were pushing for.
@@sn95cruiseryes, in H2 files you can find abilities to make the player sprint. The uncut version of the game was wayyyy ahead of its time

Would love to have a theater mode in this “remake”
I'm all for a remake I just really hope they try to add in cut missions or parts from the book. Maybe even give us some Arbiter missions against the flood.
As long as that is relegated to bonus content that doesn't change the campaign we got in 2001, I'm all for it.
I doubt there be any Arbiter missions or any playable Elites in the Halo CE Remake!
I would love to see Thel Vadam-centered missions. How he was essentially screwed over by the prophet that was there.
As long as those levels are tertiary to the OG campaign that is already there, I'm all for it. Make them unlockable missions (like CEA's terminals) that you can only play after you beat the main campaign. That way, none of the cutscenes or levels have to be altered.
@@Arander92 they could be like terminal missions!

2. Fix the spawn system so 4v4s don’t suck
3. Make vehicles not kill you by tapping you

1. Add the energy sword
2. Make the jumping feel less floaty
3. If you’re going to add more weapons then have them follow the philosophy behind halo ce where every weapon can have a use and it doesn’t have to be damage potential.

My biggest bet is like SVP mod from CE, is the direction they should take the campign, same story more sections, weapons and related events as new missions
I think they should just do what bungie intended but was forced to change because of time and limitations. All of the cut missions, vehicles, weapons, enemies. Everything.

I would want a rework to the Warthog! 1st person camera option? Maybe the Hog can modded and repaired too?

and 4 extra seats with a scarab gun on top
343 please stay away from this. Give it to Certain Affinity
They could add in cut content like missions, armors, etc. Also the inconsistency from Reach to CE is still goofy to me,even with CE:Anniversary. They could fix alot of that.
As long as they're bonus missions that don't interfere with the original campaign. Nothing from the base game should be changed to accommodate any new stuff
halo ce's movement can be modernized without sprint lol.
Literally just make the movement faster. All they need to do. If this game has sprint it's over lol.
Or restrict sprint as a custom game only option.
Exactly
Just giving a “booo” for the idea of sprint 🤣
Halo fans “we want spin offs!”
**gives us a remake
I don’t think you understand how many people want this
@@3lectric220 I do understand because a lot of people rely on nostalgia and 343 knows this.
EXACTLY. Rewriting the story is completely unnecessary

I have ALWAYS wanted to wipe my own memory to replay halo ce for the first time. I think they should try this out and if it succeeds "remake" halo 3.
They could have just let a player pick between original/remaster in the menu before starting the game and been fine)
Now if this new release is being made in UE5, then it HAS to be a * remake.* There's no point in using the original assets in 2024; it's just too low-poly now, especially with UE5's film-level polycount capabilities.
As for "modernized" gameplay.. well.. look at the DOOM reboots. Sprint = always on, in true "Boomer shooter" fashion. And Doom is doing just fine. Halo can do the same 🤣
(But in all honesty, if they add sprinting I won't be mad.)
I'm excited for a potential remake of CE in unreal engine 5!
Msster chef would like remake. Hao ce. 21 cenert to 26 cenrty miden day ce
I'm worried about this.
I am slightly too but we still have the original, which ill still come back to
I know where that audio omg he has the halo 1 pistol is from, master Cheif war halo 3 video
I remember it too. I’m surprised you remembered the video title.
I still think it's a good idea it'll be neat especially with updated graphics the cutscenes will be cooler
I just want a new halo multiplayer that isn’t overly sweaty and mtx filled.
The only way to have a successful 'remake'. Is to do what Dead Space Remake and Resident Evil Remake did. That level of success.
Maybe because it’s an actual Halo game, and we haven’t had one in a decade.
Username checks out.
People like you are exactly what's wrong with the halo community.
I'm down for a remake! And if it performs well, then maybe they'll consider remaking H2 and remaster H3??!
lol my dude I don't think anyone will complain about sprint over all else that could go wrong besides the classics had faster walking speed to make up for the loss, as long as we don't zoom around like old school doom/quake I'd see it as a good addition holding onto power-ups/med-kits would be cool too rather than use them on the spot, hell add the silver team spartans as coop characters like in halo 3 adding no change to the story, maybe standing in the background or whatever during a few cutscenes but I'm done with the new games if we get a silver timeline reboot. I'd legitimately go back to the classics and not look back.
I would like it to be more of a Halo CE extended cut
I have zero issues with sprint in halo. People just like being dramatic
I also like to inconveniently lower my weapon to move 10% faster instead of just having the max running speed increased.
@@nagger8216skill issue 😂
@@mattc7420 Low IQ issue 🤮
@@mattc7420 No, I just want to play Halo, not Call of Duty.
@nagger8216 Imagine thinking sprint automatically makes it Call Of Duty
UberNick it a reboot it a remake or remaster and I'm for it.
whaaa????
They better add coop splitscreen or else its finna be a problem🤨
If 343i did a remake, my vote is for an ODST remake!
Millions of halo fans would come back if they made halo just like the classic halo games but 343 hate money and being successful obviously.
"lets talk ah-boat"
Kashiiera already made an excellent Mod for that, i would rather play that tbh. The should just do Halo 3 Anniversary already.
I don't want SPRINT. GOD. I hate unlimited sprint too in modern FPS games... Screw modern gaming and modern audience, they don't understand damn about gaming.
Then just play the old titles instead of complaining. God.
@@antoniogc9358how about you go play your old titles, you have halo reach, halo 4, halo 5, and halo infinite. Stop complaining about others complaining about bad mechanics. God.
I would be surprised if the remake had sprint/slide. I do not expect that.
not to mention them asking/talking about classic halo style playlists. This would be the perfect game to not have sprint and actually get data on what people actually like.
Also it would just be a bad idea every game feels like a clone these days let halo stand out.
343 doesn’t know how to stand out.
this remake needs to be rated M. bring the grunt glow in the dark blood back!!!
Lol, did you even play halo infinite?😂. They banning forge maps that have too much blood and you’re asking for more blood💀
because we're in the remake era of video games, why the hell not?
The new Doom games do just fine without sprint.
Awesome!!! Always wanted to see more bts photos
Honestly, I’m a big time halo fan and I would love if they added sprint. I mean we are super soldiers and we can’t even run? Cmon now.
I mean we are super soldiers and we can’t even run while shooting our guns? New halo is ridiculous. Even halo 5 opening cinematic has the super soldiers shooting their guns while sprinting😂
If it’s a remake I’ll give it a try if it’s a remaster I won’t bother playing it
if it goes well i hope they make a halo 2 remake with the cut content, better bossfights (they suck ass) and maybe even fight the unsc as the arbiter
I replayed Halo CE on legendary. It was super frustrating, I forgot how clunky and dumb some parts of the game was
Skill issue.
That’s what I’m saying man wtf, they already did this twice, where’s halo 3 anniversary!!!
They did it once and it sucks why should Halo 3 get an anniversary if the original game didn’t even get a decent one
I'd play a remake. When it comes time to play with my kids I will start with the oringal though.
imagine if it was literally just CE-A multiplayer
Sprint has no place in Halo, period.
i dont trust 343 to do a ce remake, they will find a way to butcher it. the game is already available on console and pc might as well port it to playstation
