Aw man your videos just keep getting better and better. The Humor, Insight, Research, graphs, style & presentation. Keep it up. I look forward to seeing 100K sub this time next year! Also regarding the test performed.... genius my friend, genius.
Can i connect hdmi 2.0 to a 2.0b gpu, is it gonna work like a normal 2.0 cable or will the performance be different because I connected a 2.0 cable to a hdmi 2.0b port?
Another new subscriber here. I've been through many a cable, and yes, the superior the cable, the better the output. So 2.1 should allow your existing 2.0 setup to perform optimally with no bottlenecks, as fast as your hardware can output... :)
I'm planning on buying the E8 OLED TV this spring. Obviously it won't support HDMI 2.1. Is it really that big of a deal and am I missing out or should I wait until 2019? I really want to buy an OLED TV now though. So should I just go on with it and purchase the E8? I was thinking of buying a new TV that supports HDMI 2.1 when the new generation of consoles come out around 2021. Is that a better idea? Doesn't the PS4 Pro not support HDMI 2.1 anyways? That's the system I game on.
What about a graphics card, say 1080ti, using a 2.1 HDMI cable to a HDMI 2.0 port on the TV? Same result? The TV “accepts” the higher bandwidth due to a better pipe (HDMI 2.1 cable)? Thanks Also I subscribed, great work
Just earned a new subscriber here . Good explanation w/o marketing b.s. Also love the dual voice ! I have an Xbox One S hooked up to a 2017 Hisesne 65" 4K TV . The audio lag thru the ARC connection is horrendous . Really bad audio lag , so I had to disable the hdmi output and use the optical cable . It only does the lag on the Xbox , not on the built in apps , Roku or this pc I'm using right now hooked to it . Oh , I'm also using a Vizio wireless 5.1 audio w/ARC .
Great video man, I love the editing and the 2 voice game you have going on. I have a question, so I just bought a lg b7 65" and I love it. I'm looking to upgrade another 55" vizio for the bedroom.... should I get another b7, the sony 930e or waitn for 2018 models?
Thank you Javier! I'd say since you already have a B7, and you already have a TV in the bedroom, I'd wait and see what comes out in 2018. If 2018 brings anything substantial you could move the B7 to the bedroom and have the 2018 TV as your main screen. If 2018 doesn't bring anything new, you'll be able to grab another B7 even cheaper in the coming weeks. That's what I would do. -- Joey
exactly.... and then if the 2018 model isn't release before prices go lower during the super bowl as well because its generally the last big even/holiday before the 2018 models come in
By the high speed transport you meant that the 2017 TVs will probably be able do 120fps in 4K or that is another thing? Honestly that is all I care.. I am holding to buy a Lg B7 right now exactly because it won't probably support it
Of course Most 2.0 can be firmware updated to 2.1 it’s one of the biggest cons going to make more money for the greedy tv companies who are lying to the public 2.1 is the same port as 2.0.
I have a 2015 sony x810c . I saw videos of the massive brightness improvement the hdmi 2.1 did for xbox one x. Can you also test a 2015 tv thanks it's 4k just not hdr
please, need advice i have a LG 55SJ8000, and the xbox one s, but I see a little lag on the game, I want to buy a new HDMI Cable, wich one you recommend, regards!!
LebJamal23 yes the x900e hdmi ports can support slightly faster connections than we have today. It wont support the full 48gb/sec but it seems it can handle a bit more than 18gb/sec that external devices are currently using today.
Thank you so much for this! I got a 21:9 ratio monitor this Friday on Black Friday specials. So I tried to overclock it and it stuck to 75hz at 16:9 ratio which sucks! So I checked around and found this video and my MSI laptop has thunderbolt 3 so I just got a thunderbolt to hdmi 2.1 cable and I got to overclock the display to 90hz 21:9 ratio! So I guess to compression or something on hdmi to hdmi could not handle that refresh rate on that display but now it does! Thank you so much!!
Hi has anyone had trouble with android TV2? My XE9305 randomly pops the information banner every so often and it is infuriating. I believe it is a glitch in how it transfers audio standards from one platform to another (pcm to bitstream devices and vice versa). If anyone has any idea what is going on I would greatly appreciate any feedback
modernwize no audio pass through or external audio devices but what I have connected (PS4 pro, UHD Bly Ray) both exhibit the issue. Many others are having the same issue. I believe it’s audio related because the devices listed above do not alter aspect ratio or indeed resolution (outside of booting up a game) to exhibit a change e.g. banner screen notifying you of res etc.. very very strange.
What is the difference between the 2.0a and 2.0b HDMI port? and what is the difference between 2.0b arc and 2.0 eARC that is as a future software update on the "new" Denon avr series? And what is the difference on the 2.0 eARC and the 2.1 eARC?
1 = HDMI 2.0a adds HDR support to 4k 60hz 2 = HDMI 2.0b adds HLG support on top of 2.0a (hlg is another type of hdr....cameras like mirrorless support shooting in this. if you just watching movies you download or stream... you'll likely never encounter this format) 3 = ARC is basically audio relay connection.... I forgot actual acronym name... but basically it passes audio through devices along with data...allowing them to TALK to each other beyond just moving sound. this can unify systems and ... well basically it lets you turn your tv on... by turning on your sound system. 4 =. 2.0b arc is just 2.0b with ARC explained above... eARC is ENHANCED ARC... basically bringing MORE sound. normally dolby atmos and spacial sound has like ... 7-12 channels? something like that. but the FULL spectrum is like 31+ channels of sound. the "e" in eARC adds that. so eARC is same as ARC... but with way more channels. 5 = 2.0 eARC is basically 2.0b ARC with an added firmware for the enhanced version.... (2.0 eARC = 2.0b eARC) 6 = 2.1eARC is basically 10k @ 120hz with Atmos spacial sound on 31+ channels. (overkill you likely won't need this. but up to you - even imax theaters likely wouldn't be able to leverage this anytime soon)
Really HDMI 2.1 is really for professional gamers who have high end rigs that can output that much power like 4K @ 120hz, etc. For everyone else 2.0 is just fine. You won’t see benefits, if any, of 2.1 for years to come. I’ll worry about 2.1 if a 8k Tv comes out 😁
happy new years Mr. A1E! We were unsuccessful getting Kodi to work with the built-in Android OS. We bought the Nvidia Shield and have it setup on an external STB.

Had no idea there were "high speed" hdmi cables. Would also like to know the answer to this..
Does Uni Thunderbolt be usable with game consoles?

modernwize Wait. The TVs get cheaper in a few weeks? Like a C7 will get cheaper too?
yes sir! Especially the 3rd party retailers who can't afford to sit on inventory as the 2018 models roll in.
exactly.... and then if the 2018 model isn't release before prices go lower during the super bowl as well because its generally the last big even/holiday before the 2018 models come in

Jahblo it can support an Hdmi connection faster than 18Gb/s
Hope my Sony X900E is updated to accept the HDMI 2.1 update.
JayzBeerz can they be updated? Wouldn't 2.1 require new hardware in the TV?
Ji not sure man but we'll see. Mist likely it will need new hardware.
You can't download an HDMI port😆😂🤣
lmao

Were can I get this uni cable 🤔🤔
Maybe in shops?
Is Belkin cable faster than original ps4 pro hdmi cable over 2.0 interface?
modernwize so joey I just bought the belkin 2.1 cable for Xbox one x I don’t have it yet but should I use it over the cable it came with?????
nWo Member69 the Xbox One X cable is pretty decent. No need to buy another cable yet.
modernwize ok thx dude
please, need advice i have a LG 55SJ8000, and the xbox one s, but I see a little lag on the game, I want to buy a new HDMI Cable, wich one you recommend, regards!!
try a 2-3 ft length high speed hdmi cable. Shorter = better
we are currently experiencing frame drops with all HDMI cables on the XBOX One X . -- We are conducting more tests. I'll have to get back to you.
Still no update???
nWo Member69 the hdmi 2.1 won’t be here or added to the x till November
hey modernwize, will the x900e support this?

Not true, even video benefits from higher refresh rates. Not to mention your eyes will less fatique.
and they're here..
modernwize happy new years my friend need help trying to get kodi from google play that's on the sony TV to work
