There's just something about snakelike bosses that make them so badass. Especially the way they burrow into the ground only to burst back up and fling themselves through the air. It seems to be a constant and it really never gets old
According to OST, boss themes in Retem are composed by Kenichi Tokoi, who usually composes for Sonic games. Wonder if overworld themes in Sonic Frontiers have similar tone?
*Aelio music* Me: Mmm, quite nice. *Retem Music* Me: O.O GAAD DAAMN! My ears are havin Eargasms! lmao😂🤣😂 Honestly, PSO2 Music in general really sounds good to me. Heck, im a sucker for VGA music! :3
If i has a nickel for every time i fought a snake like boss in the middle of a desert in the course of a single year I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's wierd that it's happened twice.
It sounds like they sampled parts from the combat music in the mountain levels of the Xena Warrior Princess psx game. This part: ua-cam.com/video/DbxgHtnRD94/v-deo.htmlm8s
@@qwertyandwasd early PSO2 UQ isn't a Dark Falz level either. We have Dark Ragne and Big Vadah UQ too and the last boss of both Aelio and Retem isn't end of episode tier yet imo
@@qwertyandwasd doesn't make sense it compare it with those anyway, since NGS is at least mostly composed with PSO2 veterans who've been nailing boss themes for years... although honestly I have no idea who did this one. I think it might actually be Tokoi??

Retem really doesn't miss with its music
The field boss theme actually has a bit of the classic 1990s Phantasy Star 2 battle theme.
Did you know there are three types of ARKS?
Those who seek Strength
Those who live for Pride
And then there's the people in the Lobby.
Ah yes
The H#rny
I have a question
For the gd_darkfalz
WHERE YOU FOUND HERE ACE COMBAT ZERO REFERENCE?!
"Yo, Guardian. Still alive?"
Hehe

It really doesn't. Menacingly majestic spectacle.
The music kinda gives me a snake charmer impression, like you’re trying to tame this massive creature.
This ost feel like a cinematic that shows all of us, Arks, are running towards this boss!
Man, this game is truly special♡
you mean Arks?

a pso god would never say "mm quite nice " to aelios music because its more pso then retem
what is the instrument being played at the start? the string one?
probably a sitar with a bit of reverb

NGS boss music really is improve from PSO2 boss
they're better at it
bruh
Wait what, cant agree to this
If comparing with early boss battles like snowbanshee, rockbear, and gwanada then yes. This one is UQ though, it got similar level with Elder and MBD.

wow its the same theme with not changes. but for aelio nex vera had a whole new phase theme
Each phase actually has subtle differences. For example, the vocals start up when you go after the tail.
