Not really. Never liked the character. Excited for your take on the song, however!
High hopes for the worldsoul saga ngl.
More excited about knaifu (Xal'atath) coming back, but Anduin's a welcome addition too.
Now we just need Sylvanas back and have her be done justice, rather than whatever the heck that character assassination in Shadowlands was.
I'm excited to see where they take it - I am kind of betting that he will fall to the void and Graymane will take over at the end.
ME! As a Lifetime alliance player, I always liked his story arc although I feel like blizzard crunched a little hard on him the last years. Hope he will soon be back on track!

this song hits straight to the heart. I remembered when Anduin was only a small boy, and he grows up into a great priest, his relationship with his father, and then Legion happened (the very last expansion I played, I only watch cinematic and lore videos to keep up with the story), and BFA happened, Shadowland happened, he suffered so much... I felt so old now 😅
There are no words in elvish, dwarf or the tongues of men to describe this masterpiece, but the tears in my eyes speak for me.

IMO Anduin’s theme is the greatest motif in all of WoW’s soundtracks.
And considering how gargantuan that library of scores is by this point, that truly says a lot.
Its good but at the end of the day he is just a cheap arthas knockoff.
I agree. Anduin's theme, Jaina's theme, and Arthas' theme are my top three favorites. My son also loves it. He figured out how to play the melody to Anduin's theme on the piano when he was 7 or 8. Wouldn't stop playing it.
I remember getting chills when I went to place the Pillars of Creation in Dalaran in Legion, when the somber rendition of Khadgar's theme played. It was the first glimmer of hope in one of the most hopeless stories in the series@@dharmaster
@@DieGurke_ Hard disagree. He definitely started out as a nobody character, but I think his character development and story is one of the only good ones to come out of Blizzard post Wc3. I especially like how they've turned him into the "What-could-have-been-Arthas" had he not been so vindictive.

Not me actually crying with this version omg haha I feel like the metal version more accurately fits with the Anduin of the Legion era: hurting from the loss of his father, fearful of what's to come and full of doubts, but still strong in his faith and his resolve to defend Azeroth. But this acoustic version is so perfect for the Anduin we will be reunited with in The War Within, and not only because of the lyrical differences, but because this Anduin is battle scarred and broken, that resolve shattered, and his faith gone. Beautifully done!

@@phiraasel8139 Broken by war doesn't really do it justice. His very soul was torn apart by Zovaal, the atrocities he committed during his possession were unforgivable, and it killed any remaining slivers of hope he dared to have.

I have been playing WoW since I was like 12yo and Warcraft before that (my uncle taught me to use the computer just so I could play Warcraft Orcs vs Humans and from on then). I immediately felt a conexion with Anduin because he was too a child King waiting for his father. As I grew up Anduin grew with me, I helped him in Pandaria, with the Twilight Cult, and of course I suffered with him in Legion. Your first song really made me feel proud of how Anduin and I turned out, and now with this version I am so grateful that you included this new cycle of him.
This has genuinely brought me to tears, I love World of Warcraft.
This deserves a live Blizzcon Rendition I swear to the Light.

Brother, this brought tears to my eyes. No sooner had I just finished looking up the lyrics to your original and singing them softly as a lullaby to my 7 week old son than I find this. Thank you so much for revisiting this acoustic, and updating it for the new story. My father was not in my life much but despite it all I had good role models like my Grandfather and Uncles and I've grown into the kind of man I wanted out of a father, the kind that lives up to the heroic ideals of the best of Metzen's Warcraft, and to this day, father & son storylines pull on my heart strings. I love all your Warcraft songs, Lok'tar to you and keep em coming!

Anduin really becomes a legend. And i think this new cycle of WoW is about him. Arthas was the first one. This is the second hero.

Anduin is my favorite character in the story since bfa. Then I was a little put off by his shadowlands arc, but now Im hoping for a grand return of the man with invincible ideals. I hope they dont change him too much into someone else.
Already in Krasarang wilds during MoP questing, as a horde player, you quest for Anduin and his only goal is armistice and peace. I laughed at him back and now this song makes me shed a tear, wp skar!

In my opinion Anduin's Theme is one of the most powerful melodies in the entire game - no matter which version of it. The use of the theme in various cinematics (including The War Within), is goosebump inducing to say the least. This (and your other version) certainly does it justice. Well done!

To have a character so dear and near to me, have his trauma and struggles since taking the throne, finally acknowledged, really feels me with hope that the Devs will be more outspoken about topics like mental health, and give their players who also struggle with PTSD, depression, anxiety, ect, some much needed healing.
OMG! My favorite song has words!! I love it so much that it's my ringtone on my phone. I'm a huge Anduin fan, been playing since BC, watched the kid grow up. Damn near broke me when I saw that new cinematic, my own brother has PTSD from his time in the Marines and I could see that in Anduin's eyes, that stare.
I'm putting this on my "list of great songs" so I can return to it often.
