Ok, Bro. From an experienced Maserati owner, your gas smell is the classic fuel pump plastic cracked on top, you will find raw gas, pooled on the top… Danger will Robinson! Stop driving, until you fix that!. 2nd.. buy the bypass seat sensor, to fool the system, to think there is a passenger, in the front seat.. Safety tip #2. We had a Durango that had the gas smell and it was the evap system. I think it resulted from overfilling with gas (not stopping when the pump clicked off). I tried refilling the charcoal canister myself but the garage had to replace various components in the end which was quite pricey for what it was.
The passenger seat weight sensor grid thing is probably from someone climbing across and putting their knee in the middle of the passenger seat because the drivers door handle is broken and they didn't think to use the outside handle. One problem lead to the other.
Seeing that '79 Regal takes me back to my HS days. Kept it through senior year in HS, and then sold it w/125k miles before I went off to college.
I hate all that wheel sensor nonsense. I like how Mercedes does it, they just read the wheel speed off the ABS sensors and if the speed changes it knows that the tire pressure is off.
Just find some buttons from a C6 Corvette and install them tastefully. Seems like a possible great solution depending on where you mount them, especially since they are installed in the pull handle from the factory and may be able to be modified to look factory.
Yes, the gas cap can, and does cause a lot of EVAP codes. But on most modern cars, there are separate codes to help find them. You will have a 'small leak' code, that is common for gas cap, or 'large leak' that will indicate something other than the cap. Also, I would not expect a major fuel smell from just a cap. I often have to pay extra for the "two hand yank" in my Maserati.... Aside from some likely persistent annoying things I'd like to see this stick around for a while - would be a fun car to update the infotainment system and use it for a "road burner" (GT type duty).
you pay extra for the two hand yank in your maserati? oh lordy lord
One thing I learned from working on cars. If it reeks of gas you don't run or drive it. That's just plain dumb.
You really have to let the check engine light go away before moving the Maserati and or Ferrari! As to not confuse it as well as give it at least a second to warm up because it will cut your performance when cold if it's not warm enough
Can you 3D Print the cable hold? Maybe improve it some aling the way
I laughed too hard at Siren- Not OK
I've never seen what a TPMS sensor looks like. Or that there are radio sensors at ever where on the car body. Very interesting ! Always good to see Johnny on the channel ! Car looks fantastic post detail !
Yooo pray for me I bought a GL350 and sent it for field measure and the dealer effed my car up and blew the bags 🫣
Air bags or suspension bags?
@@samiamm5764 suspension bags 😔
Sounds like you get new bags for free 😳
@@WatchJRGo funny thing is it was fine before the dealer visit and they’re like oh you need bags it’s going to cost 10k+. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s conversation. And my call to the class action council 👀
My Porsche had gas smell, it was vacuum leak on evap sensor
If you need to replace the front speed sensor, that’s a new hub and mucho cash. Ask me how I know……….
The check engine lights stays on for 18 seconds after ignition in all Maseratis of that era as a systems check. Late Ferraris did the same thing. No harm there...
Just add a bottle of Seafoam and it’ll be fine! 😂😆🤣
Couldn’t you make it that you pull the door handle and when it opens enough it completes the circuit to open the door? That way you don’t have a weird button on the side?
M5 has rubber stems my TPMS still work 2006
Gett'ner done
Why didn't you check the E-vac system while it was on the lift?
Hi
Fuel pumps more likely than evap
You might want to call Elliot Alvis to see if he has a spare cable set from his GT.
