Thanks for the review! I found it very helpful :) It's great to see a woman reviewing womens' gear. I've seen so many outdoor products designed for women being explained by men. Keep it up!
HI. Great review. Don't forget to mention that once compressed, these sleeping bags will need some time to recover their swelling. I bought the Flame2, compressed it for a few hours and was a bit worried when I pulled it out of the compression bag : the sleeping bag was all flat ! It took around half an hour to restore its use state.
That's a great point @J RENOM, thanks for adding this. They come with the soft cell for storage, but if your on an adventure its best to set you bed up when you get to camp to give everything time to be optimal before you hit the sack. ~ Lauren
Make sure you start off packing it firmly, a lot of people pack the bag too loose at the start then end up trying to stuff a lot of fabric in at the end. ~ Ben
You're pretty much right in the middle of the two sizes, Laura. A regular would be fine if you are really counting the grams but if you like a bit of space in your sleeping bag and can afford a little bit of extra weight (albeit less than 100g), then the large might be a good choice. ~ Ben
I find the sleeping bags if the flame series very comfortable. I am doubting now which one to bring for the PCT. Either the flame 4 or the sleeping bag from the spark series Spark 4... What would you recommend for temperature on a thru hike like that?
Both bags are similar, Laura, I'd go with the one that feels most comfortable. The Flame is designed with the female physiology in mind, so if that bag is more comfortable then it would likely be a better choice for you. ~ Ben
Great review! All thumbs up - thanks!!! The real weight (not the official one) would have been interesting, too. It's a pity I can't order at your shop because I don't live in Australia :-(
I'm not sure what you mean by 'real weight' sorry, chaoty, Sea To Summit are pretty good with their specifications so the weights they state can be taken to be accurate. Sea To Summit are an international brand, I'm sure you'll be able to find it somewhere. Their website would be the best place to start looking - seatosummit.com/. ~ Ben
That's really hard to say with any certainty @Maja Midžor, we could only really give it a ball park guess looking at fill weight and comfort temp comparisons. Roughly going of the down quality used in the Flame series, 100g fill weight looks to give you around 4-5 degrees of additional warmth. There a quite a few variables that could effect this, but I'd say that'd be a rough guide to work off. ~ Lauren
G'day Manoj Sharma, this bag has a contoured mummy design which is wider at the hips and narrower at the shoulders for a women’s specific fit. It's not unusual for a man to choose this bag since the size may suit them better than what is available in the men's sizing. Bags that have been tested according to EN Standards have been tested in a controlled and static environment (much closer to inside a tent than out in open sky). Other factors such as the insulation of your sleeping mat should be considered when choosing a suitable sleeping bag. You can check out more info on sleeping bag temperature ratings here - www.snowys.com.au/blog/what-temperature-sleeping-bag-do-i-need I hope this helps! Cheers, Sonia

Helpful detail about the zip lengths and baffles, thank you.
I'm glad it was useful, Jandal. ~ Ben
thank you for having it set up, so we can check these out.....it comes down to an issue of compactability....with your competition...
You're welcome, Philip, I'm glad the video was useful. ~ Ben
Brilliant video thanks so much! Very informative.
Thanks, Jo. ~ Ben
Thanks for the really helpful review! I’m still struggling to get my flame iii in the compression sack 😆 I will get there

Love this! Thanks for doing the review. I'm 167cm what size would you recommend?

Thanks for getting back to me Ben with your advice. Much appreciated 👍
Thanks! Very useful 🧡

Is it possible to use the Flame line with polar fleece or wool liners?
You'd want to make sure the liner is a expedition mummy fit, otherwise you'd have excess material jammed in there and it wouldn't be comfy

@@SnowysOutdoors, thankful.
really great overview!

@@SnowysOutdoors That's exactly what I meant, thanks for your respond. Some brands are very optimistic about the weight of their products :-)
What would fm0 and fm1 add if used as liner? Thanks:)

Can a man also use it, any disadvantages?
Another question. Do these temperature ranges include case in a winter tent or out in open sky?

@@SnowysOutdoors thank you very much
Great. I'm only 165cm tall so the Flame bag would actually better suit me lengthwise then the regular men's at 185cm. Still, tough decision really
