I was definitely not ready for the wave of nostalgia that hit me when I clicked on this video. Hatena was such a simpler time, and I'll forever treasure the memories of when I used to post my Flipnotes and watch other people's Flipnotes on there. Looking back on my old Flipnotes today, I don't think most of them were the best, but that doesn't matter. The important thing is that I had fun making them :)

My DSi XL is still functional except there’s a slight problem with reading the games. It can be countered though, it just gets annoying.

Flipnote... I remember being inspired by those animations and it motivates me to create my own stick figure animations on my dark red DSi and it was a lot of fun! Good memories! ^_^

I was definitely not ready for the wave of nostalgia that hit me when I clicked on this video. Hatena was such a simpler time, and I'll forever treasure the memories of when I used to post my Flipnotes and watch other people's Flipnotes on there. Looking back on my old Flipnotes today, I don't think most of them were the best, but that doesn't matter. The important thing is that I had fun making them :)

Started a long distance relationship with someone in one of the chat rooms on Hatena. We ended up actually meeting and dating a year. We aren’t still together but we still talk. Hatena was truly a special place and brought me and my friends a lot of joy back in the day.

I was too young to appreciate the full magnitude of this, but am old enough to realize that those days, where it took an amount of effort to create viral legacy, was better than what popular content creation tends to be now
I was 12 in 2013, a Flipnote kid, I truly feel bad for younger people whose only experience of the Internet is relegated to a constant stream of incendiary, toxic, and/or pathologically self-obsessed content on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter & etc.
That's how I feel whenever I watch these. When I was younger, I never really realized why this was so cool and special. I think it's better I didn't know though.
