Thanks for a great video. For driving around in the park (roads indicated as 4x4) should it be a hardcore 4x4 or will a AWD car with good ground clearance be sufficient? Thanks
Based on our experience there, in the dry season all you really need is good clearance. In the wet season there are areas with black clay where you would easily get bogged. We did not need low range at any point.
Unfortunately no videos of Gweru. The town hasn't changed very much over the years. Some expansion of the CBD going southwards and different shops but it is largely the same. There is the usual decay of infrastructure as with elsewhere in Zim. There are a few gems like Antelope Park and CJR Primary School is well maintained.
Hi there, it's not possible to do it in one day within daylight hours. The direct route is slow going with a lot of unpaved road. It's at least a two day trip in daylight hours. I would not recommend travelling in the dark due to livestock, animals, and people walking on the roads at villages. Also you would not be able to leave Hwange before the gate opens, and get to Mana before the gate closes.
I would recommend staying at Matusadona National Park. It's about half way and definitely worthwhile. I did a video on that as well. The Campsite is called Tashinga.
I lost a great friend who drove at night from Vic Falls to Nearby Zambezi Nat Park and hit an Elephant. so you may not have Traffic and cars and human Settlements but you have Wild Life to watch out for
Yes, but it is much better than a few years ago when every road block was an attempt to find something to issue a fine for. All in all the roadblocks were a minor inconvenience (except the Chirundu saga of course). I really don't see what the point of them is, they generally, not always, just stop you and then wave you through.
These videos would be so much better if there was less commentary with video of you talking. The commentary is great but show the surroundings you’re in beautiful parks show the surroundings.
Love your videos man ...keep it up
Thanks! I appreciate that feedback 🙏🏽
Love watching all your trips and reviews.

Not the ideal outcome but sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Most times you win
True. Seems like timing is everything with Zim wildlife.

Never Drive at Night in Zim especially
I lost a great friend who drove at night from Vic Falls to Nearby Zambezi Nat Park and hit an Elephant. so you may not have Traffic and cars and human Settlements but you have Wild Life to watch out for
True, it can be very dangerous. Some animals are especially difficult to see at night. Sorry about your friend 😔
It's so irratating why they stop you so much... Road blocks
