  • There are a few thoughts I failed to mention during the video. The main point being that I wish I knew of the harmful chemicals found in everything "non-stick". I've since parted with most of those items and have found safer alternatives.. so if you're starting fresh you can avoid my mistake and start with smarter choices.
💕Here are the trusty items from my wedding registry or something similar/safer option. Below these I’ll also list my current go to items that I wish someone else had purchased for me.😅

You wonderful "old married woman" you! I love seeing people's marriages work for the long term. It's just heartwarming. The trip down memory lane was great.
On a slightly technical level, you really are a natural in front of a camera. Many people never learn that. You seem to have taken to it like a duck to water. Also, keeping things natural/real is refreshing. Never lose that.
I may try a couple of your registry things....once I move to a house. I've crammed about as much useful stuff as possible into my two bedroom small-ish apartment/art studio. BUT! Thanks to you, I now have a list! TADAAAAAAAAA!
Keep up the good work, my girlie. 💖

Thank you, it was fun to reminisce. 😊
You're so sweet, thank you! Though editing out parts where I lose my train of thought or jumble up my words helps. 😅
I hope the list will be helpful for you!! 💕💕

This was such a fun video! Great advice for those just starting out. We just hit sixteen years of marriage, and I'm finding that most of our best loved and used items are needing to be replaced. I'm still using the same stainless steel cookware every day that I did in our first apartment, and it has seen better days. I also just replaced our dishes this year for the first time and it felt amazing to have kind of a refresh. We registered at a high end department store and although the day was like something out of a movie, I ended up registering for fine china, crystal glassware and silver flatware. For you know, those big dinner parties that would also include your crystal decanter. Our friends and family were smart enough to forego those and buy our every day items instead.

Congratulations on 16 years! I love how much use you’ve been able to get. I ALMOST registered for China. I probably would have donated it at this point. Thankfully your wedding guests knew better. 😅

Your intro was so touching and the moment of defeat was pretty funny. My partner and I met in 2007 as well but we were in our 30s. When my daughter and I moved in with him 2 years later, that was pretty much like a marriage of our lives, except that I had to buy all the stuff to level the place up from a bachelor pad to a nice home. Our next purchase is likely going to be a rice cooker because he's on a quinoa kick but I told him no non-stick coating allowed! 🙅‍♀

I’ve got to know, what is 30’s male interior design like? 😅
I’ve never thought to use my rice cooker for quinoa! Genius.

@@SimplifyingTheSatherns It was a hand-me-down haven, extremely minimal in most areas except for 2 absolutely hoarded, shove-all-the-excess-crap-in-there rooms. Oh, and a ping pong table in what was supposed to be the dining room! 🤦‍♀
