No, I meant are...how attached ARE you? No reason, no reason at all...make a Intelligence + Survival check to figure out where in Central Park you want to start looking for Werewolves..." ahhh I miss having a gaming group. :/
It seems BLATANTLY obvious to me that the elders of the Camarilla,(I supported the camarilla up until V5 new lore) are clearly behind the current era. Not only the cycle of gehena is draining away the older generations into the blood sink of the middle east, the elders that remain dont, cant, wont understand new technology , that as all the powers from the past, can make you REALLY powerful and is hard to control. Nothing new here, power has always come with dangers and that is something they should know. They dont know how to use that power and they wont let others use it, Victor Temple is the new era Prince/Baron role model. Not only can use social media to gain power, but to uphold the Masquerade, instead killing humans and "wipping" memories, wich is weird enought to me they can do to that extent witout raise any suspicion. You know what? Succubus club masacre or Victor Temple use of social media, wich one is more dangerous? Wich one has more risk? Familiars, friends and everyone is going to ask what happened to the people in Succubus, people on social media will form a net and connect the dots, the Camarilla knows no shit about social media yet still act in the old ways. Just because they dont use it doesnt mean the kine dont. And they are breaching the e-Masquerade, a LOT. There is million of idle, bored net users waiting to bite on their e-Masquerade breaches. Just because you dont use internet, doesnt mean others wont.

Almost the same with me but i try to limit myself and so im still at season 1 (im just checking here to see if new episodes are made or is it over.), it is great to watch and yea i got "mighty nein" to end too but i dread the time ill have to wait a week/month/whatever for new episode. Damn i would love to be a vampire, sleep for a decade so this series would progress far and i could just binge watch as much as i wanted in my estate nibbling on some goth girls (also i hope there will be some Tzimisce because as far in season 1 there was none, and i love that clan and it would be awesome to see it being portrayed here where i know it would be made by pros to maximum of their ability and as such ultimately inspiring).
"So that we can find you and make sure everybody sees the wonderful support that you are giving us." Jason is such an immersive storyteller and I'm so on edge about this masquerade thing that I actually felt an implied threat in that statement.
1:58:25 I think Jasper has a very interesting moral code. He doesn’t want to hurt mortals, but it’s not because that he actually cares about the life of the mortals. It’s clearly shown here that he couldn’t care less. His obsession about “I will not hurt/kill mortals” is really about himself rather than out of empathy or anything. As he said when he was talking to Annabelle in early season 1, he wants to be a better person than he was in life, so he set himself this rule of not hurting mortals, goes so far as to feeding from kindred. Yet when he accidentally broke this code(i.e. killed the kids in that drug house), he didn’t show too much remorse/guilt. He was not proud of what he had done, yes, but he moved on very quickly and didn’t dwell on it at all. It’s like he has this apathy toward mortals and kindreds alike. He hates all the fucked up things that kindreds do, yet he accepts the rule of the game and stays in the game. He’s not like Annabelle, he’s not actively fighting against the social norm of the vampires. Yet he’s not like Nelli and Victor, he’s very upfront about the monstrosity within him and all the vampires. He acknowledges it, and he detests it, and he does it anyways to survive. Man Jasper is such an interesting character
I like to think that every time Victor starts a live stream to provide an alibi, and then a combat incident occurs in that location, it becomes another red string on somebody's corkboard
“I...I leave you guys alone for one night, *one night* for self-care. I come back, and you guys have gone up against the police, done murder most foul, and *checks phone* ‘got haunted’?” Am I the only one who found that ridiculously wonderful that the tables have been flipped between Annabelle and Nelli/Victor? They’re usually all, “Oh no, Annabelle’s alone? Without supervision?” In less than an 8 hour span they’ve gotten themselves into all sorts of trouble. It’s wonderful how that’s come full circle. And Victor...oh Victor...what were you thinking? A livestream...with ‘Baby B’...in front of the cops...and police cruisers that definitely have dash cams...-_- Oh that’ll end real well.
LOL I was thinking the same thing.. as a Gargoyle all I could think was "Just invite the Inquisition to the club for blood rave why don't you!". This coming from a Kindred that once killed a pre-Second Inquisition hunting party limb from limb at a Sunday evening church service on Christmas eve.. so glad that was pre-smartphones.
This was literally the moment that Victor doing his whole celebrity personality thing to be a valid human in like the cops being unable just to pop them like they would other people to do vampires shenanigans and get away with it like super valid very well done
This is probably the most insane episode ever. Every single thing that could go wrong, goes in fact wrong. There are more badass moments in this episode than in most of the rest of the show.
I've never been so excited about a series. I love the cast. Jasper is my absolute favorite. I've never been so hyped by a character as Jasper. Who needs regular TV shows if you can have vampire: The Masquerade - L.A. By Night. I hope we will see a lot more of you all! I'm sorry if the grammar is not quite right I'm from Vienna;)
I love the characters difficult to interpret or not typical of this show like an anarch Ventrue, an anarch Nosferatus, a non-impulsive Brujah like Tara Kearney or an anarch Carna Tremer with pagan clothes. And "X" has been improving from crazy sad clown to tragic oracle. Kyoko could be a intersting character. A Tremer wearing biker leather clothes? Any relationship with Kyoko Shinsegawa? Flames sorcery. Is she a infernalist?
Ooo I was wondering about that with Kyoko as well. Kyoko S is such a fascinating character and it'd be interesting if there's actually a connection between the two here!
Yeah it's nice to see the academic side of the Brujah get some love. The philospher-kings, the Hellenes, the clan theorists; as the rulebook describes them. I've personally been brainstorming a Trotskyist revolutionary Brujah, maybe embraced in the 1920s and currently gathering some fame for his postmodern Marxist/critical theorist writing, think Chomsky and Žižek. Basically; what if Lenin, but vampire.
UA-cam randomly recommended this series to me after watching 2 of Outstar's videos a few days ago and hot diggity am I glad it did! Binged on season 1, and considering subbing to your twitch now. Great storyteller and great players
Thanks for doing these. These episodes make my shift go by so much faster. And they've renewed my interest in VTM.. great job storytelling you've set the bar high
If anyone at Geek and Sundry gets around to reading this: How long does everyone take to get into and out of costume and makeup for this series? Just curious.
It varies. We generally set aside about 2 hours to get everyone (regular cast, guests, and me) through wardrobe and makeup. Some characters take longer, some take just a few minutes. Fortunately, our makeup artists are total pros who can make our vampires looks awesome quickly! :D
Man, I hope that a Mage (from Mage: The Ascension, another White Wolf game) shows up in the story. *drops everything and starts writing a letter to Jason Carl* Also , I absolutely love how much deeper the characters are. It feels like a veil has been lifted from Season 1 and I cannot wait to see what unfolds in future episodes. The highlight of any day is a new L.A. by Night episode being uploaded!

Using dominate powers on live TV... someone's gonna start noticing. Very dumb, imo. There's hiding in the open with the intention that people'll go "Oh, it can't be him, we know him!" and there's showing your inhuman powers of persuasion to the world going "Here I am, inquisition! Watch me dominate!"
This episode is best described as EPIC. There were so many moments where I was legitimately bouncing in my seat with a huge grin on my face uttering exclamations as the glorious madness went down. What these amazing people are creating is the kind of thing that keeps me inspired to create as well. So thank you all so much - keep being AWESOME!
In these nights there is no such thing as covering up.. the Inquisition knows enough and First Light is always watching. I miss the good old days when a Gargoyle could still get away with "do you like my costume? Got a part in a low budget horror movie and just getting used to all the makeup." without someone taking pictures for IG or Facebook, and getting bullseyes painted on your back LOL.
The funny thing is, even with the Second Inquisition, covering up the masquerade is much easier than you'd think. In fact, one strategy I have is to Dominate their agents with a lingering command to PURGE THEIR DATABASE, the next time they return to headquarters. Boom, any information they have relating to the supernatural is wiped out, and the kindred can go back to business as usual. :)
@@JBlaydeGames It was because knowledge of the supernatural was widespread among the public that the first inquisition was so successful. But if the second inquisition wants to keep things on the downlow, they're going to find the monsters are far better prepared this time around. After all, they've been waging war on each other without anyone finding out about it for centuries at this point. And I'd say they have far more experience doing so, than the pitifully short lived humans.
I was wondering how the coterie was going to get out of this one! When I'm watching these videos I feel like I'm right there in the middle of the action. Huge props to Jason Carl in how he sets the stage in each scenario :) Also (edit): *Annabelle:* "Nelli?" *Nelli:* "If there was ever a moment you trusted me, Annabelle. This is it." *Annabelle:* "Be careful." That was a poignant moment. I had to sit down and re-watch this and the previous chapter because the significance of it escaped me the first time. I got to admit I get more emotionally invested in this story as it goes along.
"By G'Quan, I can't recall the last time I was in a fight like that. No moral ambiguity, no .. hopeless battle against ancient and overwhelming forces. They were the bad guys, as you say, we were the good guys. And they made a very satisfying thump when they hit the floor." "It's wrong for the strong to prey on the weak. That idea was the very heart of the Round Table. To correct injustice, to promote a society of laws, not arms." "Well said!" "That is the purpose which God and the Crown have set before me. I can not achieve that locked away in some room." "No, of course not! What room?" "I sense in you a warrior born." Jasper needs to get himself a King Arthur cosplayer to celebrate.

Loved Victor's roar "enjoy the view!" right before the break. Gave me chills!
I love jaspers ongoing bit of “I don’t want to kill these people! …five successes” it’s so good
56:06 I can hear the "I would like to rage" that would have come out if Nelli had been a barb on a d&d game I can hear it so clearly
And now I can see Travis Willingham, as Grog, sauntering.
LOL. B. D Walters is having *way* too much fun with Dominate 😃.
Oh hey, I just noticed that they have red and blue 'police' lights flashing in the backdrop during all this. That's a nice touch :)
Our tech and production team is just incredible! :)
I didn't notice until I read this!!!!!
I definitely must to pay more attention
I am late to the party, but good lord, you are all stellar. every single one. but jasper steals the show. if there ever is a bloodlines 2, he deserves an jasper npc. and mr carl, i don't know who writes this storylines, but you and that person should be hailed by the developers of the rpg-setting. this must have been the most insane advertising for mascerade. what a great job from every single one of you guys and girls. absolutly captivating entertainment. thank you for this.
I think Jason writes stories himself
He's also on staff at white wolf lol. The people who... you know.... wrote the literal books for the game lol
Wow Jasper was both literally and figuratively on fire this episode!
1:34:42 "Its a...Manual drive"
1:34:46 I'll show myself out...
1:44:58 meta wham line and Alex's laughter is hilarious, I can feel everyone thinking "people are gonna DIE"
"maybe you ought not to be dialing and texting while leaping" "The Beast wants what it wants" This episode is AMAZING
"I activate Awe"....never saw that coming 😃.
I love how Jasper had full rollercoaster of emotions on this session, he and Viktor are amazing duo.
Jason Carl, if by chance you get to see this, I want to thank you, because you're are not partially, but totally responsible for I, in the forthcoming future, will be doing my own chronicle with my friends. First time in the ST seat, and first time for me and my friends in the WoD setting
Same; I'm even proposing a resource manual for a city in 5th edition
They do read :)
That's awesome.
Just binged the entirety of season 1 in three days- this series is so good!
Thank you for joining the #vamily!
Me too mate \O/
FlightyBoat
Same XD
Same
Jason: *long beat after hearing Marcos is dead* "Oh dear."
I love this so much
One of the best moments of the episode, I need to make a Fiorenza supercut, every time I rewatch she is always a highlight
"So that we can find you and make sure everybody sees the wonderful support that you are giving us."
Jason is such an immersive storyteller and I'm so on edge about this masquerade thing that I actually felt an implied threat in that statement.
B. Dave Walter's performance is amazing. Using leverage of his own visibility in the media, brilliant dominate targets.
“Uh, *Miller* sir.”
*Bruhthisisnotthenight*
"OH DEAR. Won't this be interesting?!" LMAO, The understatement of the night.
Jason is so good at emulating X, makes it look much easier than it probably is

I think Jasper has a very interesting moral code.
All of this is the Cammie's fault. They are Ancien Regime!
To be fair as soon as dadpire and mompire took their eyes off her she tried to stake a dude. He totally deserved it, but still.
poilboiler This is true. She’s not one to talk much about impulses lol
Meh Victors shenanigans is what makes this shit interesting.
"I'm the Sheriff."
"Have you met my buddy Jasper?"
This was literally the moment that Victor doing his whole celebrity personality thing to be a valid human in like the cops being unable just to pop them like they would other people to do vampires shenanigans and get away with it like super valid very well done
I loooove what you guys do with the set and the outfits. Your DM is also super talented. Really amazing.
Thank you so much! Glad you're enjoying it. I am so lucky to have these players in this story!
@@JasonCarl we are luck too have you too! I love everything, it's perfect!!!
@@kevinfelixclausell5244 *ST, actually.
Took me a whole to see the police lights between Jasper and Anabell. Its a nice touch for the LA by Night setting
Hello to you in Vienna! Thank you very much, it's very kind of you to join us from across the ocean! Welcome to the Vamily. :)
Your Grammar is Fine. You have Nothing to be ashamed of.
I'm starting to think I just ship Jasper with everyone he comes across because he and Kyoko's fleeting interactions/reactions were so cute
Little details, like the police lights coming on in back screen of the set after the break. Love.
I lost it when Victor announced Ants-ticipation to the world, Nelly's face was priceless.
UA-cam randomly recommended this series to me after watching 2 of Outstar's videos a few days ago and hot diggity am I glad it did! Binged on season 1, and considering subbing to your twitch now. Great storyteller and great players
"I don't want to kill them"
This is becoming a trend for Jasper, the lord of head trauma and concussions..
55:51 "I see you shiver with..."
Jaspers facial expressions in this episode are great!
Victor: It's a "manual".
Love it!
Teacher: "Where is your homework?"
An 8 year old B. Dave Walters: "I activate daunt."
Lmao the most awkward kiss ever! XD
My face hurt just watching it, Jesus Christ 🤣
55:30
Easily my favourite scene outta the whole series by far. And seeing Jasper completely lose character for that is a moment lol
Jasper is becoming one of my favorite characters in this series.
Thanks for doing these. These episodes make my shift go by so much faster. And they've renewed my interest in VTM.. great job storytelling you've set the bar high
That minor reference to Hamilton is duly noted, Victor. Hats off to you.
Oh, my God! Victor made the joke like I was thinking of! Rocky's Horror Show FTW!
Man, I hope that a Mage (from Mage: The Ascension, another White Wolf game) shows up in the story.
*drops everything and starts writing a letter to Jason Carl*
Also , I absolutely love how much deeper the characters are. It feels like a veil has been lifted from Season 1 and I cannot wait to see what unfolds in future episodes. The highlight of any day is a new L.A. by Night episode being uploaded!
So much going on this episode storywise and then here comes Hector Navarro to cameo as Juan. Definitely took the edge off a little bit
I don't understand how Jasper survived all that damage hahaha, and beheading the Sheriff like that, he's definetly the GOAT!
Well kindred only die from sunlight, decapitation, or complete flame engulfment, the worse that would happen is falling into torpor otherwise.
@@Sumoniggro oh yeah, I forgot there's those 'special' people on the internet that don't understand the meaning of somethign said figuratively, soo yeah, by 'survived' I was speaking FIGURATIVELY.
@@SumoniggroI mean enough bullets can still kill a kindred.
Victor: "... and we *might* have just started a war with the Camarilla."
Me: "I'm not so sure about that 'might' but I'm definitely sure about the 'we'... question is, when it comes up which 'we' do you think it will mean?"
Jasper looks AMAZING!
I half expected Annabelle to say "wow, mom and dad have an open relationship too... how edgy."
@@d34dj3d1 more correctly Annabelle, Mark, and Eleanor are in a mutually accepted polyamorous relationship. How much Mark and El have going is between them and so far off screen.
@@kohakuaiko Um no more correctly my statement was true yours isn't.
@@d34dj3d1 Based off what? Because koha is basing their statement off what has been said in the show and what's on the wikia so... koha has sources backing them, you don't.
@@Umbral_Jag based off of common sense and observation of the story and characters
d34dj3d1
Dude, that’s your opinion on polyamory, not fact. Koha has actually told the truth based on the things that have actually been said in the show.
that livestream strat is ballsy xD also freaking risky
THIS EPISODE! to anyone yet to watch, you are in for a treat.
This was SO intense! I had a blast. Also, Jason Carl's X impression was awesome, and I learned that Juan is better with the ladies than I am. :D
How long until a major masquerade violation that can't be covered up?
In these nights there is no such thing as covering up.. the Inquisition knows enough and First Light is always watching. I miss the good old days when a Gargoyle could still get away with "do you like my costume? Got a part in a low budget horror movie and just getting used to all the makeup." without someone taking pictures for IG or Facebook, and getting bullseyes painted on your back LOL.
@@azarinevil the Kindred miss those nights, too. :)
@@Nyrufa Use whatever tricks you can to keep making yourself believe you are safe and superior.
The hunt will never end.
There will be a reckoning.
[sheriff shoved off roof] “this seems like a perfect time to take a break :)”
this show is only the thing that help me get rid of last hunger dot...
I was wondering how the coterie was going to get out of this one! When I'm watching these videos I feel like I'm right there in the middle of the action. Huge props to Jason Carl in how he sets the stage in each scenario :)
Also (edit):
*Annabelle:* "Nelli?"
*Nelli:* "If there was ever a moment you trusted me, Annabelle. This is it."
*Annabelle:* "Be careful."
That was a poignant moment.
And they made a very satisfying thump when they hit the floor."
"It's wrong for the strong to prey on the weak. That idea was the very heart of the Round Table. To correct injustice, to promote a society of laws, not arms."
"Well said!"
"That is the purpose which God and the Crown have set before me. I can not achieve that locked away in some room."
"No, of course not! What room?"
"I sense in you a warrior born."
Jasper needs to get himself a King Arthur cosplayer to celebrate.
Babylon 5:"A Late Delivery from Avalon"
"He learned that from watching you, by the way."
Bahhah xD
Jasper: This is GROOOOVE!
55:00 the look on Nelli's face when Victor and Annabelle are about to make her commit to Ant-icipation is priceless. xD
Another amazing episode.
Jason as usual is fantastic.
Bonus: the end part vignette was so cool! Real diggin' it
