I have a Power Director 365 subscription and was notified there was an important new update touting the AI Anime Video Tool. This led me to believe that this was an added feature to PD. Once I updated, I was very disappointed to realize that it was not a new PD feature at all, but essentially a link to another product to purchase. Thank you for digging in and explaining so clearly how it all works, it's a great informative video.

Unfortunately, the concept of using "credits" to complete an action within a program is rapidly becoming the defacto norm by several software companies who are scrambling to figure out a means to create more revenue.
Wait until it happens on UA-cam where it costs you 5 credits to post a comment about any video.

They also limit premium music downloads from Soundstripe. As far as I could see there is nothing on their main subscription information that says only 30 downloads per month. I did mention this to them and was directed to a FAQ, not exactly displayed up front anywhere.

    Wow
I am so glad you are on top of the situation.
So much trickery in so many hoops I'm glad I don't want this darn AI stuff.

And I'm afraid that all this AI stuff everywhere is soon going to become "pay as you go".

Your analysis gets a like from me. I don’t see myself using this too often, especially with their pricing structure. Plus the 100 free/mo doesn’t buy much anyway.

I had thoughts about trying to get as much of the free daily credits as I could and then get the monthly credit to try some special videos, but now my interest in their AI Anime Video Creation has dropped to about zero. I'm just not into it.

Sometimes the best part of my videos (and those by others) is not the subject matter being discussed but rather just watching the video and thinking about the techniques employed to create the video.

It's certain, I'm not going to use AI Anime Video. Do you know if it is possible to eliminate this tool from PD 365..?
I must admit that I appreciate Cyberlink's policy less and less to the point of even having to abandon this program.
    Thanks for pointing out ......

Yes, good question. I too would love to know if it's possible to eliminate it.

There is no way to eliminate an individual tool unless done by Cyberlink. The good news is that it will only remain at the top indicating "NEW" until something else comes along to take its place. So after that occurs, you can just ignore it like it was never there.

The thing that bothers me is several content creators have mentioned that some features have disappeared from PD. I've not used it since v9 but recently subscribed to 365 from Elements because they are also removing useful features from that in favour of AI tools and their upgrade price is the same as the new version.
I can see all software moving to this model eventually because AI is the next big thing and it will create additional revenue.

You might be right about the AI feature becoming the driving force of software and additional revenue. As far as features disappearing from PD, in the initial release of this version that was somewhat true but because of user feedback, much of it has returned, i.e., the opacity line on the clip in the timeline. Several other features have found their way back into the menu system but because the menu system was vastly reorganized, those features were initially difficult to find for the long time user. I must say that it has taken me several months but I think I know where to expect these features because believe it or not, the menus are starting to make sense.

I hate when developers move stuff around for what seems like purely cosmetic reasons and not because of some overriding improvement to actual functionality. It happens a lot with websites as well as software. It is annoying for long term users because you develop muscle memory and efficiency which is then lost. That's good that they are prepared to listen to users. Some companies don't.

If they continue down this subscription path, I’ll drop them like I did adobe

I still own and use one of the last available stand-alone versions of Photoshop. For what I do in Photoshop, this old version is the same as the new fancy subscription based version.
With Cyberlink, their subscription version is getting to be more and more different than their perpetual licensed version. For example, this latest video should be of no interest to those with the perpetual license simple because they do not get the AI tool. They should be glad about that.

I would find no use for it. 30 seconds, really. No thanks.

Maybe the world would be a better place if all UA-cam videos were limited to 30 seconds.
