    Thank you for the kind words. The highest note is a "C" 4 spaces above the bass clef staff. I would recommend practicing exercises that can incorporate intervallic leaps until you get to the high C. In fact, try practicing this by playing these pitches: 1ST LINE ABOVE BASS CLEF C to E, C to G (above it), C to High C. Do that exercise until you have the strength and air speed to make the high C come out consistently. Be patient and GOOD LUCK!

      @@elelsey Ok, cool.
      I am a disabled vet (PTSD) and in recovery for alcohol and drug abuse. Playing music (primarily euphonium) has been a major help in my recovery.
      Anyways…Eastman heard about my story and is gifting me an EEP526s (next week at my community band rehearsal). Hence my curiosity of the specific make/model.
      I guess I’ll be like an amateur brand artist. :) (I’m super excited and humbled.)

    I just saw your video for the first time tonight.
    DUDE! That was SWEET!
    It brought back memories. I performed the piece on my Senior recital, in college. (April of 1989)
    You made some different musical choices than I did, but it was ... an honor to hear your performance.
    (BTW, you posted this video about the time I was retiring from the US Army, as a euphonium player.)

    • @elelsey
      @elelsey  7 років тому

    • @ssglinus
      @ssglinus 7 років тому

      Given what I heard, I hope you are still playing. (It's one of my favorites, too.)

    • @ssglinus
      @ssglinus 7 років тому

      Just curious. Is that a Yamaha horn you are playing on? and what is the mouthpiece you used? ... Don't recognize that either.

    • @elelsey
      @elelsey  7 років тому

      Kevin Robertson It is an Eastman and I'm playing on a Giddings and Webster Boreas mouthpiece (they don't design it like this anymore but it is equivalent to a 5G). I don't perform as much as I used to so it makes me happy to see that my old videos are still enjoyable, helpful, etc.

    • @ssglinus
      @ssglinus 7 років тому

      I understand about not playing as much as you used to (long story).
      Eastman? I'm not familiar with that make of horn. I've been playing on a Willson 2900 since 1986. ... So, you are a "Giddings and Webster" fan, as well. ... I use a "Kadya" (variation on the Schilke 52 D) on my Willson, and have found the "E-1" mouthpiece (I think that is the successor to the "Boreas") to work better with the Besson horns.
