Fixing Onan 5500 Marquis Generator. It shuts off when start button is released

In this video I replace the brush block on my RV generator. I thought I was going to have to replace the entire control board but it ended up just being the brush block which saved me over $600!
The generator would start but shut off as soon as I released the start button. It was giving me fault code 37 which is Invalid Set Configuration. The Cummins service manager recommended I start with this $50 part instead of the $680 control board. If this video helps you please do me a favor and subscribe. YOUR VIDEO SAVED ME FROM BUYING A NEW GEN!!! I have called Cummins…no luck, other mechanics…no luck, BUT this video did it! I however used a paint stick with a piece of a scotch brite pad taped to it to clean the rings. Worked perfectly. Installed new brush box, said a prayer and hit the start button. She purrs like a kitten!!!
