Thank you so much for this video. Mine is a 5500 also but not the gold one. I ordered this tool from Grainger but ended up using a homemade paint stick with scotch brite cut and wound around the end. That worked better for me. The tool from Grainger ended up being too hard. Also mine was throwing a code 27. But a new brush block fixed. Thank you again!
YOUR VIDEO SAVED ME FROM BUYING A NEW GEN!!! I have called Cummins…no luck, other mechanics…no luck, BUT this video did it! I however used a paint stick with a piece of a scotch brite pad taped to it to clean the rings. Worked perfectly. Installed new brush box, said a prayer and hit the start button. She purrs like a kitten!!!
When I saw your video I noticed that on the throttle arm the rod coming down was in the extreme right side. Mine is in the middle. Could this be the cause of my non starting engine?
Interesting, mine runs 4 four minutes and starts spudering and shut down. It has 12 hours on it......just bought the toy hauler.....??? Any thoughts guys n girls.
