A Hero that cannot imagine a world of peace, cannot defeat the Demon King. Frieren showing him the possibility of peace, is likely what made his journey possible.
Even though Serie rejected Frieren for the exam, the latter still managed to teach her a lesson: Frieren doesn't care about being a 1st class mage at all, it's just a mere title, so it's neither power or recognition she seeks...she just wants to live another adventure with her new companions, reminiscing about her past ones who gave her a new purpose in life. She's just that simple...and Serie can't really get it.
Frieren has no need the title she already a proven great mage. same goes with Serie itself what Serie did merely just a jab to her. both know they no need of those title. Serie also acknowledge Frieren it just she hate her philosophy thats all.

in manga, last page of the chapter there is small drawing panel that show continuation of the conversation between Himmel and Frieren. she remembered the boy back then. she was like: "ahh it was you?" then Himmel was like : "now you suddenly remember? 😅" and lamented that how he is not look cool anymore since she remember him from back then. something like that.

The use of music/dialogue/visual to make me people feel a certain way about a specific moment is an art in itself. I count a few anime that does it perfectly. Frieren is one of them, Kaguya-sama is also one, Clannad, Naruto had a certain one in particular that I can't think of, there's also Heavenly Delusion for at least one specific scene, plus imo another one at the end of the same episode.
If this anime and its OST resonated with you, I implore you to give Violet Evergarden a try. Both shows feature the same composer, but in my opinion, his work on Violet Evergarden is a lot more pronounced than in Frieren, and it has (and still does) brought me to happy tears many times.

Don't take anything she says at face value: - Says that she'll never teach magic to humans -> is the founder of the Magic Association and directly mentors First-Class mages - Says that Flamme's flower spell is stupid -> holds the third exam in a garden of flowers - Says that she'll never take on another human apprentice -> asks Fern to become her apprentice - Says that she only took on Flamme as an apprentice on a whim, as if she didn't care about her -> takes a long walk with Frieren to reminisce about Flamme - Says she hates Frieren -> takes the aforementioned walk with Frieren.

She is very attach to her students like all of them even the one that don't make any legacy on humanity's history. She said she looked down on human due to their short life span but also most if all of her students are human. She actually had more empathy than Frieren too, she actually remember all of her students traits, their favorite spells, hell if the flashback on the students was anything to go by, even their face and she lived for god know how long. She is Frieren mirrored in away, while she is less emotionally aware, she is more empathic.

She literally says they will overtake the "immortal" races, and not just because they reproduce rapidly, but because they are compelled by their short (relative to elves/demons/even dwarves) lives to act and innovate. She seems more disappointed that they can't keep progressing to the same level as individuals and have to rely on community and generational advancement instead. She is very much an individualist, I suppose. But otherwise, she seems to be one of those characters who tends to mean what they say but also the opposite of what they say simultaneously, just in different ways (for instance, by complaining about humanity's short lives, she is not just implying that they're inferior like so many think, but that she wishes they lived longer). She's not the easiest character to understand, but it ain't rocket science either. People should pay better attention. This is why writers feel compelled to spoon-feed us exposition as though we're braindead.

thing is, serie definitely has the stats to beat the demon king in a 1v1, but magic is all about visualisation here. Since Serie cannot visualise herself in a world at peace, she'll most likely sub-consciously hold back in her fight against the demon king or be unwilling to finish the job if she subdues the demon king.

Nah. Flamme learned it somewhere else, iirc. From her parents, I think. I'm pretty sure its the spell that set her on the path to becoming a mage. And was the last spell she taught Frieren as a sort of "passing the torch" moment. That magic isn't to just be something for war. Its why Frieren hoards so many weird, seemingly useless spells. She's the antithesis to the warmonger that Serie is. But interestingly enough, Serie also knows the spell too. Probably copied it when Flamme showed her. Or just knows it cause of how old she is. And casts it as a way of mourning her old pupil. So who knows, maybe her parents learned it from Serie at some point. That would be an interesting twist. Serie also has a lot of "useless" spells in her memory bank, so I imagine her wisdom comes from loss just like Flamme and Frieren and why she's so bent on furthering combat magic as a whole. So people don't end up like her.
