Agreed! Phil Palmer is one of those guitarists who isnt that well known - and yet he has played as sideman and as a studio cat on many, many recordings. His musical unison with Eric here is just brilliant. Cannot wait for the 24 Nights extended edition due out in June when there will be even more.
Perfect tempo Eric - I first saw you live with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in the 1960's at the Flamingo club in London - you walked on stage wearing a full length fur coat, many of us then went to charity shops and bought second-hand fur coats!
@@guitarman8462 HA ! I Wish ARGENTINA ! now that I Can afford to go anywhere in the world (& I would go) but now my health is poor. So I went to the video. it was great....thank U😀
I so love the intro, with Eric and Phil (Palmer) in sync as they harmonise. 'Shot' has gone from being a rather ok single to one of the live standouts. I was really disappointed when he didn't include it in his Hyde Park set around 4-5yrs ago.
El concierto completo fue brillante, uno de los grandes que se hicieron en BuenosAires, pero el solo de EC es impresionante. Recuerdo que el estadio tembló. Literalmente.
I love it how he always looks the same since he started playing with Clapton in like 1972? And the Layla concert during which he plays the gong is so epic xD
In 1990 Clapton had just recently come out of rehab, but he looks just as high as ever. No, he wasn't on cocaine, that's just his passion for playing his guitar and his genius on doing it.
At risk of stating the obvious, Clapton is neither the boss nor the daddy, ladies and gentleman, Clapton is God. So we'd beitter start praying for more of these solo's.
Isn't he just! Love Phil's playing. Went to an evening with ... a few yrs ago and was such a great entertainer with his stories. Oh and his playing wasn't too shoddy 😅😅
I like his guitar tone a lot here and his solo is really good. On the down side, this is the second worst hairstyle of his career, behind only his perm in the 60s, and every successful musician worth their salt had stupid hair then. He had no excuse in the 90s.
❤ Eric Clapton is killing it ❤ Forever Fan ❤
Omg this is really amazing! Eric Clapton just used magic in his music; can't stop listening to him!
me too
Me too!
@Peter Keys so?
Me too ! Best live version of this song
The Armani suit/Lace Sensor era. Love it!
Versace!
I heard every version of that solo and that night he was on FIRE 🤯 straight heat coming from those hands
What a vocal rendition on this take. This is a phenomenal musician of any era. The instrument is attached to his vocal chords ~ simply amazing!
Maestro de la improvisación..
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🧷🧷
Nathan East's lovely couple of phrases just before Eric breaks into his solo. Simple - yet so well executed to build up the tension.
The Guitar Harmonies during intro are Awesome. This version is sooooooo good ........

De otro planeta.....!!!!!!!!!!
I only have ONE regret in my life, not having the opportunity to be in any of this Guitar God’s concert, what a huge loss on my life😢😭😩
NEVER SAY NEVER ❤ Forever Fan ♥
That tambourine! I saw EC on this tour and he did not disappoint.
Perfect tempo Eric - I first saw you live with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers in the 1960's at the Flamingo club in London - you walked on stage wearing a full length fur coat, many of us then went to charity shops and bought second-hand fur coats!
Wow ! You sir are one of the luckiest people ever ! Hope you enjoyed every second of your life ! Take care man 🤘🙏
Independientemente de sus dotes musicales, en esa época era un recontra bombonazo!
I love the touch of the female backing vocals, there're moments of pure magic, eg: 3:57
Really amazing moment!
And again from 4:38 to 4:44
This is john wick on guitar killing it
Kkkkkkkkk yes
Phil Palmer man, get it straight!!!!
Well, he did shoot the Sheriff
Plotwist: John Wick plays the bass
Added to FAVORITES!!!
Love to see Eric play rhythm guitar. He doesn't do it enough like he used to in the old days.
Just love him so much 💖
He’s a great fountain

Eric eres inmortal y estamos en 2024

You love how he looks rather then play like he use to. This shit is boring compared to the 60’s and early 70’s
1.31 AMAZING
Same stadium where the 1978 World Cup Final game was held 🇦🇷🏆⚽ . We won 3-1 against Holland .
OMG!
Mr.Tambourine is the greatest one there, right behind Mr.Clapton
I was 10 years old back then. How come I wasn´t there lighting my self with that SOLO..instead of playing and doing kid´s stuff. SHIT!!
That guitar solo actually killed the sheriff.
😂
EC the best guitarist vocalist ever
best performnace
Nice!
Shame on you youtube putting ad on eric solo
Phil Palmer's recent book has a lot of interesting stuff about this era :)
A brilliant read. Love the guy's playing. Such touch and technique.
1:33 Omg! He is really one of the best!!:) mauve
This dude over here is gesticulating his hands like he's a damn rapper. It's hilarious.

Ray Cooper vs The Tambourine Guy in the Postmodern Jukebox videos...

estuvo prendido fuego clapton esa noche, y que queres estaba en arg y en el 90
@lordcutter61 gotta love the 90's dance routines

without words ..... THE BEST !!!!!!!!!!!!
Is this the best version or what
Up til now I thought the Hyde Park version back in the early 2000s was. But now ....
YES!

Just another fine example of why the guitar legend they call "GOD" and "SLOWHAND" earned those monikers.

Clapton é deus
Waw best solo
Abdo Slowely watch his 2004 crossroads solo from Texas. On a another level, a once in a lifetime performance.

I like Eric's cover more than the original
Don't get me wrong,
Marley is great but Clapton is God
Ray Cooper rocks :D
Nice Phil Palmer

El solo de guitarra literalmente mató al sheriff y a todos los deputies.......
Bob Marley
I stole their music, but I don't given them the credit no. No no no!
@robert19962010 hahaha! Yeah, I think they look like umpa loopas man. . .

That was his best style imo.
