Hi Josh, I ran into some people like this in a comp game recently but much worse and it was everyone else on the team. I ended up muting them within 2 rounds but I really appreciate how you handled this and I wish I could be brave enough to stand up to people like this who try to normalize their vile and harmful behaviour. In that game, I was the only girl on the team and calling out people for their behaviour only made them target me instead. I wish Riot had better systems to protect players from having to interact with people like this.
The very essence of these players was shown when Reyna said he would comment mean things on your videos but was too scared to give you his username. They can talk up a lot of shit online, but they will never own their words, because they know that they're wrong. At the end of the day, I know that most of the people who say this shit online are cowards who would never dare say it in real life. The sexist comments and threats people have made to me are not something they could ever say in front of their mother.
My greatest wish is that Riot implements a feature where they are all put into a game together and get stuff flinched back at them

I'm currently waiting to see if I'm excepted to become a small group leader for students in my church and I had to make sure my old edgy middle school humor posts on social media were deleted. Most people in this comments are rookies at handling these situations. Its very simple just MUTE and play your own game. I am a long time gamer with OG modern warfare all the way to HoN, Dota 1 & 2, League. Yes i am a 32 yr old playing valorant. But in these pvp specific games at lower tier elos like Gold to Plat have the most toxic gamers. There are couple ways to handle this and the way Josh always handles it isnt the best solution. You think he isnt adding fuel to the fire but he actually is by responding to them calling him monkey etc. Obv for josh its for content purposes. But tbh you either 1. Mute the simplist solution and play your best game, let the tilt of their obnoxiousness to the opponent channel your rage and anger to the game and you might ownnnnn. 2. Match their energy, if they are trolling like this try to troll them back and get on their good side. Cause at the end of the day. They are just joking or been teenagers. Everyone who plays videogames can go through this phase in their life, i have as well. 3. Just quit the game if this kind of behavior affects you mentally and go play something you enjoy more and not have to go through stress of other people. Imo in videogame space where we have freedom to be whoever and however we want, we shouldnt also restrict peoplr of acting this way cause we are taking away peoples freedom in the virtual space because at the end of the day these pvp specific esports oriented games, half of the game is social skills, how much social aspect game can dictacte the result of the game. There are just tons to learn from my 10+ yrs of strictly playing these type of games in social aspect.
