    Dude this was good. It's made me rethink just how much I'm taking out there with me, like for an overnighter. I tend to take way too much stuff. Thanks.

    Nice to see you back n the woods again Kenny! That bedroll setup really looks handy... I'll try that on my next fishing trip!

    Use the white ash from the fire to clean your bottle/ etc. off. 👍🏼
    Cleans well, less scratches.

    Great Video Kenny, glad your back with outdoors tips...finally, I learned something again, it's been awhile. Glad you showed that simple setup, my friend and I like to hit remote streams fishing and we could easily wrap a fish pole and tiny lure box in the bedroll....love it!! Thanks Kenny!

    Great video, I love the minimalist approach especially for a day trip. I think sometimes we get gear happy and take way to much out, i know i do.

    liked, subscribed. I like your way of thinking. No need to carry more than you will use. Just one tip brother about fire. Flames are used for heat, coals are used for cooking.

    Kenny, an awesome job at responding to your comments on this video, fans spend their time writing comments hoping for one back and seldom get one, I know if you get a lot there is no way to hit them all but it's nice when you can respond to what you can.

      Well I do my best sometimes. This is the first break I have had in I don't know how long so I am finally able to spend a little more time on my channel. This semester has kept me extremely busy. Thank you for the feedback and the support, I appreciate it.

    carry a blanket to hold stuff when a simple backpack could do it better, and i never go out without a med kit and emergency gear, so i would always choose a backpack over this blanket roll

    Good video. Liked the knife/canteen trick (unfortunately doesn't work with a Kleen Canteen). I would have added a poncho/tarp/ground cloth/basic first aid kit . However, the fact that I always seem to cut/scratch myself or get caught in an unpredicted downpour of rain may have something to do with that (in Australia, a forecast zero probability of rain is usually an certain indication of an approaching storm).

    Not trolling and definitely not a bushcraft expert by any stretch. My only suggestion would be clean the outer-bark off that stick before you stir anything with it. Chemicals in the air, animal stuff, anything could be collected on the outer bark. Just looking out for you.

    Hello Kenny, Have you ever used dryer lint as a fire starter ? I alway's took some with me when I went on a hike in the woods or hunting, it starts easy and takes no room to store. Merry Christmas...

    • @BraveTheWilds
      @BraveTheWilds  7 років тому +2

      Yes I have, most of the time if I carry tinder it's either the waxed cotton discs, jute twine, birch bark, or fatwood. The only reason I don't use much dryer lint is because not many loads that I wash are all cotton. Thanks for watching.

  • @billsouders3587
    @billsouders3587 7 років тому +10

    OK I feel this was a cool video except for one thing. Please be safe with the fire. It looked like dry leaves. You didn't create any fire ring. No wind block. Hey I have watched many of your videos. Enjoyed most of them. In respect. I spent 9 years in Boy Scouts when I was a teenager. I grew up on a farm and farmed most my life. I have forgotten more about the outdoors and survival than most will ever learn. Please be safe. It is easy to set fire. Can be near impossible to put it out once out of control.

      Not made in the exact style anymore I don't believe. It's a Blind Horse Knives PLSK 1. The company has changed names and one of the guys has gone his own separate way. Be ready to drop about $300 bucks if you want something like it though, that's about what mine was.
