He is more bothered about how he is as much a Northerner as any other Northerner and how the conversation should not get to the public than whether the allegation is true or false.

They are all useless senators. The cat had been let out of the bag. Adam Oshomole affirmed "they have been stripped out to the market" which means their secret had been revealed. So what else? Even a neophyte understood their actions. They are only covering their shame by suspending Senator Ningi who unveiled their evil. They have been doing it not for the first time but for long. No substantial projects can be boast of that were executed in their respective constituents yet, quarterly allocation were given to each of them in billions. They are all sycophants and extravaganzas.

For those that don't get what he is saying, he is distancing himself from Senator Ningi and the Nothern senators' attempt to overthrow Akpabio.
Nobody wants to overthrow anybody. This is always the strategy of these corrupt politicians to change the narrative and divert attention. Someone raised alarm of corruption in the senate, instead of then to tackle the issue squarely, they changed the narrative to coup plot to deceive the gullible ones. Please they should stop that unproven propaganda of dethroning the senate president.
