Yeah, I had a malinois cross, and very challenging dog. But he ended up being a great dog, and he saved my family one night when a gang of men came down the driveway to steal some stuff. They heard the dog trying to tear down the door to get at them and they got back in their ute and took off. But a clueless owner with this breed is disastrous. I admire them, but never again.
I've not seen Luke so upset since his talk about Shadow, when Dee said they had someone ideal for Abra. It was like someone broke his Christmas present.
@@dianne5646 Apparently the people Dee was thinking of for Abra had just lost one of Abra's litter mates that ate something poisonous. I'm pretty sure Dee wouldn't have approved the adoption of the first pup if the people weren't suitable for that breed. But who knows for sure..........
I have seen YT clips of this dog breed climb up and down a ladder, scale a wall, walk a wire, parachute from a plane, climb a tree and work free its own kennel gate latch. Absolutely intelligent, athletic gorgeous animals! I don't expect to see Luke skyjump off a plane with Abra of course, but, my goodness! Pairing a trainer of Luke's caliber with a dog that has such potential will be so.. wow! It may be that Dee will find a suitable family for Abra, but at the very least, because of her visits at the farm, we can be sure that Abra will have the correct, solid foundation on how to be a very, very, good dog. I'm very much looking forward to Abra's next visit. 😊
I don’t know if you are on Instagram, but there are a ton of police K9s with accounts that I follow. Lots of Belgian Malinois/ Dutch Shepherds, and German Shepherds as well as bloodhounds, German Short Haired Pointers, Labrador Retrievers, and even some Golden Retrievers, usually for scent work. I have learned so much about these breeds from following the accounts.
Unfortunately my country, the United States, exports trained Malinois to Jordon supposedly as bomb sniffing dogs. Undercover video on several occasions have shown the dogs abandoned, horrific overgrown nails, poorly fed, ignored. Along with other people we are writing to our congressional senators and representatives to stop this abuse.
I also detected just a tad of disappointment when Dee said she had a place for her. I suspect she still might end up being a "farm girl ". Remember Rover started out "being trained " and we all know where that led to. Sam has the biggest heart. You could hear her compassion when she was talking about Abra.
Saddest Farm video I’ve watched? Luke. Man of war. Abra. Dog of war. Together. Such a bond. Yet Sam & Luke have taken on so much. Testament to the fact. that rescuing Man’s Best Friend (?) is grueling work. I know how soul crushing it was to send Abra back w/Dee. ❤ Dee. Love you guys for making that gut wrenching decision.
Absolutely it’s all attitude. Chance isn’t giving it off anymore. Quite the opposite. Cutie Pie on the other hand, well that’s her card she plays and boy does she play it well. So well, she believes in it herself. 😁
Dr. Violet, greeting her newest therapy patient: "Hmmm, scared, mouthy little girl with sharp teeth and not shy about using them? That's nothing, kid. See mine? Wait til you meet my mum and sis." Luke (beyond thrilled to work with the breed): "Mark her down for five days a week." Just a thought, Luke, Sam and Dee: Maybe reach out to your veterans' media contacts and ask their help in promoting her, on the off-chance her foster doesn't work out. You said yourself, military guys treasure this breed and have the understanding, knowledge and experience needed to meet her training and working needs. She'd be a great companion for some lucky veteran. Blessed be.
Thinking about what Luke said regarding the litter and how they would all be play biting constantly. If that's all that Abra has experienced to this point... high intensity... I can only imagine how baffled she must be by the calm energy of the pack. I remember the point when Shadow let all of her angst go when she realized that "this was real" and she could let her guard down and trust. It was so visible... her ears softened, her shoulders relaxed, her "grimace" was gone. I couldn't help but cry with happiness for her.
Thank the Lord she was returned to the shelter. She's now in line to be fostered by someone who knows what they're doing and is a responsible dog owner wanting to give her the best life. The best news for this beautiful girl who is so affectionate. A lovely playtime in the pool 🤩 I always chuckle at Cutie Pie, who walks right under any dog that's in the way of her journey 🤗 Hope and Barney 🤗 Two daft boxers doing what boxers do while ganging up against Luke 🤪 So funny, and lovely to see Hope excited about everything that's going on every day. I think you need to re-name the Farm to Mission Impossible Farm 😂😂 Lovely video as always Luke and Sam 🥰🥰
I'm learning a lot from your channel. Abra is super gorgeous. Thank God she's with your farm now. It's funny how she reacted with Cutie pie.😂. Mother Lily is so precious with her sticks. All the dogs look great.
If you look at other channels regarding owning a Malinois you'll see their ears are much the same. They are just absolutely special. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia 72yrs
Rottweiler, GSD'S, Mastiff, Stafford, and now a Mal...wow! In the wrong hands that combo would be a hot mess but Luke knows his business. Abra is beautiful but she absolutely requires supervision and total guidance to become the dog a knowledgeable owner could appreciate. Land shark Maligator, spot on. Lol Would so love to follow her progress if Luke survives being perforated. Lol
I will make a second comment, just because I feel SO VERY STRONGLY about this: Luke has an AMAZING pack that he has trained IMPECCABLY and made a part of his wonderful family. Those animals all feel wanted and cared for, and SAFE within that pack. Then there is Sam with all the tender hearted warmth and encouragement (though I have heard her in charge of the pack while Luke was busy elsewhere). Incredible people👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love listening to Luke and Sam talk about training and why certain things are done. I could listen to them all day. Love my little Chopper!! Such a chill boy. ❤❤
I appreciate how the message "Know the breed of dog you're taking on before taking it home.". Luke explained perfectly the mindset this breed of dog comes with from the very beginning. These videos are so valuable to all of us with working dogs! ❤❤❤
I think this also shows the importance of experienced rescue staff like Dee who can match dogs with suitable owners! It sounds like they really did everything they could to match Abra with the right owner. I got an anxious mix breed from a rescue and when I came to the vet with her the first time they happily told me that my couch potato was a high energy working dog that needed a job! She was anxious because she did not work so we had to go home and create a job for her and excersize her considerable more. I am so happy to see that Abra now can get what she needs!
Adopted a border collie x collie from vet at 6 months old (after being abandoned by owner when she (at 3 months) had a broken leg from being hit by a car). Eventually we figured two 20 minute walks a day were NOT enough and had to get her a job also.
This Tuesday March 14th, I pick up my new puppy Maxi, a 14-month-old Belgium Malinois. She's a shelter rescue who needed a person who wouldn't give up on her at the first sign of "trouble", due to people who adopted her on two separate occasions and then immediately returned her because they could not advocate in favor of a dog's need to first decompress in a brand-new situation/home. She needs basic engagement and obedience training.
Gorgeous pup! Much as we’d all like to see Abra’s progress @ Farm I dread saying not the right time. Nor place. Sam & Luke scaling down stress is important.
Such a working line dog. Amazing to see in action. She really really needs to work. Unsure if the farm is right fit for her - maybe she will always need one on one. This is an extreme dog, even more than Joey, who is working kelpie.
Dicey moment for Miss Violet at 1:07:32 😅 love seeing her in the thick of it but it can be a bit nerve racking. Let it be said that she is no shrinking violet nor couch potato. It’s amazing how she’s grown into a brave and capable little girl. All thanks to the loving and nurturing guidance of Sam and Luke.
I hope it works out with the foster who had Abra's sister. With Luke training during the week she would have the perfect start to a bright future. Ive seen these dogs run 20ft up the side of a building and leap off from there and catch something mid-air. Wow Wow Wow they are serious and intense and it is a thrill to see them work. What a fun moment at the end watching Hope and Barney in sync playing with Luke. 😍 Have I told you lately how grateful I am for all you do for these dogs and for all the dogs you help through us, your followers. I have learned so much from you. Thank you so very much! ❤

Not only has Dee got a good instinct for dogs also a good one for Sam and Luke ... Her reaction to the collar and lead was hilarious ... good luck little land shark Abra ... not be long before you and the bread loaf are besties with CP and her hypnosis tactics xx
Oh I would love to have her. I live on the other side of the world. My favorite trainers are Omar VonMueller, Andy Krueger, Michael Ellis, Ivan Balabanov, Haz Orthman. I raised a dutchie and now a malinois. You can see her potential. Wish her the best.
The Malinois is the best jumper dog of all time (very impressive). No wonder that the military and the police force is using them. Beautiful dog. You have come to the right place Abra ^^
Hey Abra! 🙂 Wait until you see what she can do. They're very agile. Lots of energy. Runs very fast. Can jump over walls. She'll be the first to catch the Frisby in the air. So glad she landed with you guys. Very special breeds. Like everything new, she doesn't know what's going on. She'll fall into the routine quickly. She wants to run!
Sam, I sure do like you IN the pool! Had to feel good, but also, you were getting some really good up close and personal shots of the dogs that we don't usually see - so thank YOU! Love ya'll so much❣️🐾
A bloke who lives near me has a Maligator. Not that he'd ever say, but i think he and his doggie are ex-military or police. This superbly trained doggo is always on a lead and doesn't mix with the other off-lead pooches. When the Maligator is approached by these bouncy, rude pups, he completely ignores them without ONE verbal command!
Uncle Luke was just so in his element with Abra💯 with Luke in her in her corner she will be a one outstanding girl🐶 Miss Violet is a weapon in the pool👊🏻💜
What an amazing breed. The malonis is 100% as Luke described. They do take alot of patience and training. And they also have the ability to climb walls and trees. Very flexible dogs. I hope 🙏 this sweet dog gets a wonderful home soon. In the USA alot of them that end up in the pound are grabbed up by officers. Luke your hole pack was fantastic with this pup. And lily made me laugh at the water. Can't wait for next video Ty
Saying prayers for Abra, for the best family. Prayers for you and Dee and crew for energy and strength to see Abra through whilst keeping all safe. You are amazing.
I am always so very impressed with Luke's knowledge and training of the animals. Really opens the eyes of what any dog needs to become all that they can become. Thanks also to Sam and her amazing videos. Prayers and Blessings always.
i remember in the past luke had little videos spotlighting a specific dog. their heritage, traits of the breed, etc. it would be really great to have some of those again. it is always valuable information and there is always something in the video that i didn't know. there is a whole new pack of dogs after all...!! i wonder if this is something can be incorporated into all the new dog channels... I think it's a interesting coincidence that the last 3 dogs to come for training (Abra, Deisel and Rover) have been working type dogs with black coats.
🇬🇧 I always wanted a Belgian Malinois but, because of the training required, I never did. I'm really enjoying watching Luke working with her. They totally need someone that knows what they're doing! She's a lucky puppy. ❤️❤️X
They do require a lot of training and socializing and desensitizing them but maybe one day when u have the time and money to do it u can get one ,I have a dog in protection work and it's so much fun having your dog's in activities just watching them work it will really amaze you on what your dog can do ,I Am not very big so I have a handler do the bite work and my dog gets so excited when the bite sleeve and or the bite suit comes out, they are very smart ,I love when someone can get their dream dog and they are going to make all the right sacrifices and denication it requires to do it right,to see high prey drive working dogs live there best lives possible is so beautiful to me,it's so sad that some people get high prey drive working line breed of dogs and they don't know what they are doing or they don't want to sacrifice the time and money it takes to do it right, all animals cost money to own but I can say from my personal experience that it does cost more owning high prey drive dogs just because of the dog activities but it's so worth it, I have all 3 of my dog's involved in different activities and yes it cost me money but it's worth every penny of it , I can honestly say that I get way more back out of my dog's then I put in to them ,it's not that hard if you find a great trainer who will help you and if you find a good mentor my uncle has one and his breeder will even train the puppies and let someone pick up their dog by the time it's around 6 months old that is trained ,u can also find a breeder like that, but those puppies do cost more but it would be worth it for some one who needs help with training
We had a belgian schiperke for years and it was the best easiest trained dog, worked him as companion to young girl. would climb trees to keep up with her human . Miss him still.
Had mine for just over six months after having German shepherd dogs all my life. The malinois is a brilliant dog most intelligent breed in the world but if u can't run them twice daily and they don't take to well to being left alone its a big ask but these dogs need lots of stimulus guys lots and lots
Oh well done, Chancey Boy, Rover, Joey and little bread roll, CutiePie. What a good boy Chance has shown himself to be. CutiePie has positioned herself in the 2IC posture right beside Dad's heel on most of the walk. Just showing the pack where her position is at the top😁
Really interesting to rewatch this having seen the size and strength of Hades (Abra's male litter mate). Hades' owners are an example of good owners, who have gone the necessary extra mile (and Hades is their first dog 😯)
Cutie Pie ALWAYS amazes me as she's right n there whenever a new dog comes, shes just like now I'm the Queen Boss here, all the family pack do what I say. Such a cutie Pugsey, she is. Luke always says, she absolutely manipulates the big dogs. Lol

I've not seen Luke so upset since his talk about Shadow, when Dee said they had someone ideal for Abra. It was like someone broke his Christmas present.
Yes. He got very quiet, but I believe if Abra goes to a foster home first, she won't get the expert training she needs from the outset.
It would be foolish for the shelter not to have Luke train alba, regardless of what home she goes to she should have to go through training.
Not over yet. The story is still unfolding.
I had never heard of the breeds that Abra is. Thanks for your heads up on watching them on YT videos. They seem amazing!!!
I could tell that Luke was really excited about Abra. They are absolutely amazing breed. I wish I could see her being trained. 🥰💗
He really got animated, didn't he? Buzzing!
Snap at Chance?? 😂And run from Cutie Pie!! Hilarious but we know it's Cuties ATTITUDE 🤣👋🏼💜
See mine? Wait til you meet my mum and sis."
Luke (beyond thrilled to work with the breed): "Mark her down for five days a week."
Just a thought, Luke, Sam and Dee: Maybe reach out to your veterans' media contacts and ask their help in promoting her, on the off-chance her foster doesn't work out.
Love Rover, what a good boy. It's like he's saying "relax kid, you'll like it here I promise"
Yeah Rover what an amazing little guy. He's like his been there for years.
Love Rover he behaved so well and welcomed Abra ❤
Yes, I thought that was Nova with Barney. I had to replay it to see. It didn't even register that could be Hope. That's amazing Good girl Hope.
sheila, how about mission possible?! 🤣
I'm learning a lot from your channel. Abra is super gorgeous. Thank God she's with your farm now. It's funny how she reacted with Cutie pie.😂. Mother Lily is so precious with her sticks. All the dogs look great.
❤
How proud of ❤Miss Violet❤are we? Times 100!!!😊
Abra is just beautiful.I'm guessing she will grow into those ears...🐾💞
If you look at other channels regarding owning a Malinois you'll see their ears are much the same. They are just absolutely special. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia 72yrs
Lol they always look like a bit much in this breed 🐱
I would love to see Luke train that pup !❤
Rover farm ambassador .. loves his home
My grandpa's Belgian never did!
I am going to create a noise machine to sleep. It's going to be Cutie Pie breathing and Shadow barking😂🥳
I love the respect Abra gave Lilly! ♥️♥️♥️ So cool…and Lilly was clearly making a statement to Abra. Well done Lilly!
Lol
Ha ha ha.
I love how Joey just 'Does' on your command. She loves her position in her pack. And is a working dog committed to fun
I know! I love Joey❣️❣️❣️
A few months down the line and young Abra will be an absolute beauty both with her looks and her confidence
Abra is gorgeous and wickedly smart! I hope an experienced owner comes forward. If not, I look forward to seeing her on the farm!!
🙏🐾💖☺️
Have I told you lately how grateful I am for all you do for these dogs and for all the dogs you help through us, your followers. I have learned so much from you. Thank you so very much! ❤
Can someone explain what happened to Abra's sister? Couldn't hear that part so good.❤
@@ChrisInPa16123 -She ate a poisonous seed. Vet explained the surgery would be just excruciating- something about scraping out the lining of her stomach- and maybe awful after effects as well-so she was put to sleep
Very sad for that pup. How awful. Poor baby 😢
When Luke said NO, poor Rover sat down with his ears back. "I'm a good boy". How could the pup not be overwhelmed with all those bodies running towards her eeeeeeh gads. 😳😳😳😳😳😳. Luke and Sam are really excited, their faces are shining. The ants are vicious in my yard too, 2 secs and I'm bitten. 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨. Freddo might have had a nice nip if closer, caught it. Cutey Pie staying close to Luke just in case he needs protection 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤩🤩🤩🤩. Rosco sitting there like a big lump, so gorgeous. She has a lovely face. She keeps biting her bum, I wonder if she's got worms???? Good grief those cakes!!!!! Freddo looks like Patent Leather when he's wet. I hope Diesel doesn't hurt himself. The cheer squad is magic to watch at the pool. Tilly's happy entertaining herself. Rosco doesn't wonderful belly flops. I wonder if Hope will end up being a fish?????? That was sooooo much fun Luke doing the play action with Hope and Barney. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕. Cheers Rosemary Perth Western Australia 72yrs
Look how Abra is responding to Luke, already! just amazing! Thank you to Luke & Sam, so much knowledge. Love to see her progress
The bread loaf is fearless 🤣🤣🤣
Best nickname ever 🤣
Queen CP rules! 😊
Only an oaf would mess with The Loaf.
luke has his enery back with a dog that is so tuned to him lovely to hear the excitement in his voice again
Agreed
It would be great to watch the journey of Luke training Abra. Hopefully that can happen.
Hey Abra! 🙂
Wait until you see what she can do.
Pups first meeting with a Chance. Chance was such a good boy, not interested in getting into it - just casually walked away. Amazing.
I think Malinois are the dog of choice for the Belgium Police Force. Absolutely wonderful dogs ❤️
And for US Navy Seals
And here,in Hungary with military and custom-,and tax police(?).
I just love 💕 Rover. He is just so happy and chill. Best line from Sam: “Rover is like, welcome to my farm.” 😂
Sam, I sure do like you IN the pool! Had to feel good, but also, you were getting some really good up close and personal shots of the dogs that we don't usually see - so thank YOU! Love ya'll so much❣️🐾
Amazing how fast Abra is catching on. Enjoyed Miss Violet motoring about the pool. She earned her nap.
It's so wonderful to see Hope's playful side ❤she's really coming out of her shell 🥰❤
Belgian Malinois are incredibly intelligent dogs she'll be running the pack in no time
They study and workout their masters
Oh Boy, a GSD on speed. Good thing she is in your hands now.
(hint hint!) lol
💜
Wise words from this man on this breed. Not a dog for the inexperienced. Great video , thank you.
Miss Violet finally caught the 'fly' on the end of the fishing pole!! 🥳
Fascinating to watch Joey and Rover, they seem to exactly know what's going on, like side coaches 🥰
ChanceyBoy is like 'Nope, I'm a lover now, not a fighter...'
I think Rover is home...
Always amazed by the stunning Miss Violet...I LOVE you!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dee is so amazing always bringing you gifts!

Rover, Assistant helper for Luke with the new dogs in town.
Had mine for just over six months after having German shepherd dogs all my life. The malinois is a brilliant dog most intelligent breed in the world but if u can't run them twice daily and they don't take to well to being left alone its a big ask but these dogs need lots of stimulus guys lots and lots
Amazing to watch this but I must say chance has impressed the most, love the look of contempt on his face as he walked away....xoxo
Good luck Abra. She's a beauty!
Chancey Boy! 💯🐾💕 goodest boy - well done sweet boy - you know, you understand- top marks to the big marshmallow 💕
Really interesting to rewatch this having seen the size and strength of Hades (Abra's male litter mate). Hades' owners are an example of good owners, who have gone the necessary extra mile (and Hades is their first dog 😯)
❤❤
Cutie Pie ALWAYS amazes me as she's right n there whenever a new dog comes, shes just like now I'm the Queen Boss here, all the family pack do what I say. Such a cutie Pugsey, she is. Luke always says, she absolutely manipulates the big dogs. Lol
Also, this pack is becoming such an incredible all stars of performance breeds. Mastiff, GSDs, Rottweiler, and now a Malinois. The poor delivery drivers, spare a thought for them!! 😝
... and then there is miss Violet...
💜
Thanks
Loved the 'handy' game at pool's edge with Barney and Hope's heads in unison; very sweet to see her playing!
Abra is a beauty. I think that Luke really wanted her to stay at the Farm so he could work her??!! The pack dogs were amazing around her. The pool water looks so refreshing even tho’ it is a little cool in south Alabama!!
