Poor English VA. They have to rap in the same pace for a piece that was originally Chinese. Chinese words are far more shorter than English words so they have to speak really fast to fit in, even though in the end, it still doesn't fit. Japanese also have the same challenge because even though Japanese words are sometimes shorter than English, Japanese words are still longer than Chinese. The Japanese dub didn't want to take the risk of translating Hu Tao's rap and they kept singing it in Chinese with Japanese pronunciations (if you know about on'yomi, you know what I mean). Remember when Venti sang the Weinlesefest song in the english version, "outperforming" the other languages? I guess now we have the opposite situation 😂
Venti singing scene was technically an in-game dialogue, so the VA didn't have to match the speed of what she was singing. But this is a video cutscene, and the rap is originally in Chinese. The Chinese language used in Hu Tao's rap is something close to being Classical Chinese, which means the sentences are very short but the meanings are plenty. Thus, it was almost impossible to perform a rap with the same speed in English which has longer sentences than Chinese. Not only English, it was also almost impossible to rap the Chinese lyrics in Japanese. That's why the JP version didn't even translate the rap. Yes, that's right, the rap in JP version wasn't even in Japanese, it was in Chinese but being read with Japanese pronunciations. The JP people probably realised that the lyrics can't be sang in Japanese (because like English, when compared to Chinese, Japanese sentences are longer). Thus, they didn't take the risk, and decided to keep the lyrics Chinese but with Japanese pronunciations (on'yomi). The thing is, Chinese and Japanese both use the same Chinese writing system, so reading an entire Chinese lyrics in Japanese way without translating it is possible. But obviously, this is not possible for English.

I don't agree with trashtalking the EN voice, but I don't think that's the reason why they do it. I love English dub on games, but for Genshin, it's hard because the EN VAs have to struggle with translating short Chinese sentences into long English sentences. It usually is fine in in-game dialogues, but when it comes to cutscenes like this, they are struggling at keeping the pace, making it look vulnerable to being bad. Even the experienced Japanese voice acting industry sometimes is struggling keeping up with the Chinese pace with their mouth always finishes first far before the voice finishes (Chinese sentences are still generally shorter than Japanese sentences). In Japanese cutscenes, you'll notice that sometimes they speak really fast even when in moments where it's not supposed to be fast, y'know, voice-acting-wise. But, as I said, because Japanese voice acting is more experienced in this, most of the time, the results aren't that bad.

difficulty in translation. translating Chinese to English text is accurate but it wont fit the beat. but in terms of speaking the sentence/stanza, Chinese sentence usually shorter than English sentence and they usually speak faster so for each sentence/stanza it will be short in the first place. so its like trying to fit a long English Rap that will take 5-7 seconds to beat/music that takes 2-3 seconds only(since if it is Chinese language rap. thats how long a stanza should take). it just wont fit the beat no matter what. thats why she feel like catching up so Brianna(Hu Tao Eng VA) can't do about it. she is a singer but the content of Chinese to English song/rap is too impossible.
...unless they revise the scene and have different length for each voices, then Brianna will have more freedom to make the song more impactful even for KR and JP(a jp friend of mine pointed out that it is not cringe as Eng but she found JP less appealing than people thought about. the reason is also the same. it just sound good for non-jap because they usually dont know much on Japanese language, just like how i thought about it. but overall, from a japanese hearing a japanese rapping/singing, he is less impressive than usual)

Okay but I don’t enough people talking about EN Xinyan. She has that growl Id always thought she’d have!.
Chinese Hutao ♥️
Waiting for a singing event just to hear itto's jp va singing
chognuyun (sryy idk how to write his name): heyy Xingqui come to us **runs to the scene**
Xingqui: **walks slowly like a gentleman**
JP AND CN ATEEE
just for xinyan
Guys.. I love hu tao in every universe🦋🦋🦋
Xinyan in Japanese, hutao in chinese
I think the Japanese's ver is the best one
hu tao dress as a goth but she likes rap xD
The JP Hu Tao version was limited hugely by how the Japanese language was never going to be able to translate that rap and fit the rhythm of the music, thereby inherently rendering a rap with bad flow. The VA seems to have talent and makes it rather pleasant to listen to despite that, I'd love to hear what they can do with a rap written for Japanese!
missing an de-esser in hu tao's voice in the Chinese version there are some annoying frequencies that are supposed to be removed
Chinese slayed💅
Meanwhile me looking at zhihua still not found love
It's really hard to translate stuff like this to make it sound right. They did their best and that's all that matters.

CN hutao and JP xinyan wouldve been *chefs kiss* perfect
Why does Xinyan sound like she wants square dance and go to the rodeo?
English oh no, that was so bad, my ears :0
Eng is better not only because voice acting but and doesn't used that awkward "yo"
what texas doing in china ?
man 🤣

The youtube "rewatched" stats on the Korean version is absolutely flat and it's cracking me up, the singing was not very pleasant and the rap could not be translated with any rhythm so it's very understandable
The Chinese version is literally Jiafei
日本のところ映像と音声ずれてない?
En ingles suena horrible 🥲
Demasiado mal
Creo que hutao no está mal ,pero xinyan...
My top:
English -- 4
Japanese -- 2
Chinese -- 1
Korean -- 3
hey i've been following you for a long time and i wanted to ask if it's worth it if i get homa or hutao's c1, i'm f2p and i really don't know which one is better
i have a R3 dragons bane and i'm in my guaranteed btw
C1 of course, homa is barely better than dbane
If you have a primogem,I think you should take homa, I will do the same, I will leave my little risky job to chance, but it's really worth it, I wish you good luck in advance~~
@@HeyItsMeAle_ I think that homa is better.
Since without the c1,you can still get used to cancel charge attacks when using Hu Tao.
It's not that hard after all, right?
@@dainn55 meh, homa it's not really a big increase of dmg compared to other weapons, those are their primogems after all, but in my opinion comfort > damage
People judge the english Va for not being that good but they dont realize its the translation that makes it worse they have to say the words very quickly to make it sync
chinese is perfect
Chinese
Japanese
English
Korean
Sooooooo, when can we expect the various Artifact Sets DMG Output video for Alhaitham???
God, I'm gonna have to download JP so I don't have to listen to Android 13 sing.
umh….choices
We English folk just gotta make everything worse. we can't help it
Впервые мне зашла японская озвучка
Всегда смотрел сравнения озвучек, и японский никогда не привлекал. Сейчас же наоборот, японский понравился больше всех
my opinion CN>JP>EN>KR
Me liking the hu tao rap in english more : *why am I the only one?*
Idk, maybe bad taste, but you are the only one
@@BrunucomU-e8y aww I do like the Chinese rap but the English one is also good honestly way better than whatever shit I can sing
Yea. Probably you are the only one.
本家の中国がリズミカルで良いな〜!
Wtf is wrong with En?
difficulty in translation. translating Chinese to English text is accurate but it wont fit the beat. but in terms of speaking the sentence/stanza, Chinese sentence usually shorter than English sentence and they usually speak faster so for each sentence/stanza it will be short in the first place.
so its like trying to fit a long English Rap that will take 5-7 seconds to beat/music that takes 2-3 seconds only(since if it is Chinese language rap. thats how long a stanza should take). it just wont fit the beat no matter what. thats why she feel like catching up
so Brianna(Hu Tao Eng VA) can't do about it. she is a singer but the content of Chinese to English song/rap is too impossible.
...unless they revise the scene and have different length for each voices, then Brianna will have more freedom to make the song more impactful even for KR and JP(a jp friend of mine pointed out that it is not cringe as Eng but she found JP less appealing than people thought about. the reason is also the same.
it just sound good for non-jap because they usually dont know much on Japanese language, just like how i thought about it. but overall, from a japanese hearing a japanese rapping/singing, he is less impressive than usual)
Japanese Is the Best, chinese good korean... English Is bad
I always knew english dub sucks, but now they didnt even try to make it good holy shit 💀💀💀💀 they did Hu Tao dirty
