Hey Holden I'm one of the rotc kids from taco rock that greeted you just wanted to thank you for being very nice and genuine when I came up and said hi to you
@@HoldenHardman You are an amazing person Holden. It's great when people you look up to turn out to be exactly how you hoped. Which is rare. You are one of them. Thank you.
We have never eaten at La Mexicana, because I did not realize it was more than just a grocery store. Will have to try them out, since we live less than 3 miles from there! Awesome! Thanks Holden!!
Their tacos are great! but, if you like the traditional mexican restaurant fixiings like chips and salsa, and tomatoes, cheese and sour cream on your taco. You won't get that there. I am assuming it is an authentic exican taco. I loved the tacos, but my mom prefers the traditional american-mexican restaurant.
Thanks for the Pensacola videos Holden, love that you highlight our local stuff. I'm a big fan of Nomadic Eats downtown, give them a try if you haven't already!
I remember bringing my Arizonan wife (1/2 Mexican) home and she remarked on how there aren’t that many Mexican joints in town. So seeing this video gives me more options when we come back.
Just remember: if you want authentic tacos stay away from them hard shells. Mexican Tacos are only served with warm soft corn or flour tortillas, that’s it. If I’m in the US in a “taco place” and it serves hard shells I just skip the tacos and order something else because I know they’ll be mediocre.
I used to live in Crestview for all of my life but me and my girlfriend just moved to Pensacola and this is a pretty informative video since I'm not as familiar with Pensacola as I am the Okaloosa county area so kudos!
I watched your burger video and took my friends to the place on 9 Mile you suggested. We weren't impressed. However, the look on your face in La Mexicana has me convinced. I never knew there was a restaurant in there. I hope it stays a hidden gem. Although, Taqueria Olgy's by Publix on 9 Mile is super good and also very supportive of military and churches is amazing also. Thanks for your videos!!
I appreciate the Happy wow's! I haven't been to many of these places but the last I tried was El Asador and I was kind of let down based on the hype. Looking forward to trying the top 3!
Just like in the burger vid, there's a spot in the same area of CT called Tacos Mi Nacho that are extremely authentic Mexican. In fact they're literally next door neighbors to Ted's Steamed Cheeseburgers. These guys recently started expanding to more locations, so that's awesome. There's also a food truck nearby here called Los Garcias Mexican Fusion. Their tagline on the truck is literally "Exploshion of Flavor". They're bsngin as well. I won't even get into the numerous food trucks that are at Long Wharf in New Haven...
You should do a best Chinese food in Pensacola. Love your content! Hopefully one day i'll be lucky enough to bump into you while we're out and about town
The Vallartas on Sorrento Road across the street from Wal-Mart is much better than the one you guys went to...well, at least the service is better. I definitely want to try La Mexicana. The reaction was definitely legit and made me want to try.
Yesterday was our Taco Tuesday at our house, so watching this today was awesome! Definitely some great recommendations to keep in mind for next taco time! Keep up the wonderful work, Holden! Looking forward to seeing you at Pensacon if you're going! - Wade
Went to La Mexicana on your recommendation, it was not a disappointment. Saw the trophy, and let them know this video had sent me . 10/10 will go again.
Holden the BK bit was so funny. If you and your friends ever make it to New York state, I'd love to take you to the best taco place here - Los Compadres Mexican Taqueria. Great video as usual!
I wish you could do a best bbq, im from around the Memphis area and live here for the past year and have not found just great bbq, found ok bbq but not great, also havent tried all of them, Thanks
Check out "hot spot bbq," if you haven't. Brisket sandwich is top tier in my opinion. Then again, I haven't had Memphis BBQ so take it with a grain of salt, I guess.
Geoff Nichols my wife and I met my friend at Taqueria Olgy’s one night for dinner, and as we were getting out of the car we saw a homeless man stab another homeless man right in front of our car! Haven’t been back! 😂
As a Mexican I’m super proud of you. Seeing a white American appreciating an authentic Mexican taco always fills me with joy. None of that hard shelled curved tostada that crumbles in pieces after the first bite. No American cheese on it or ground meat. And especially no Taco Bell (which is as Mexican as Pizza Hut is Italian). Too bad your thumbnail features one of these hard shelled American bastardizations and why I came here prepared to hate the tacos you were about to recommend! Happy to be proven wrong. A quick rule of thumb: if a taco is served in a “hard shell” it ain’t authentic. Mexican tacos are made with warm soft corn or flour tortillas, nothing more and nothing less. EDIT: non surprisingly the least good taco place in this video (Taco Rock) other than BK, was the place that offered hard shell tacos with American cheese on them. The hell.
Really enjoy your "best in Pensacola" videos. If I may make a suggestion, could you flash up a map of where the places are that you are trying. There are a couple of places that has more than one in Pensacola. Like Cactus Flower has one on my side of town (West side) and I believe you went to the other one. Otherwise, great job and thanks for the videos.
I remember La Hacienda being a Shoney's lol still feel like it's a "new" restaurant. Yay Cactus Flower!! I miss it so much =_= the burrito that's today's dinner and tomorrow's lunch.
I used to go to Taco Town almost every day when I worked at WFCCC. I also lived in Holt for a bit and went the one out there from time to time too. Great prices and a lot of bang for your buck. I love you guys.
Dang watched ur videos a while back with ur buddy Matt reacting to all that stuff then ur videos never showed up on my TL I just got to Pensacola for Navy training and ur videos popped up again damn I have a lot to catch up on 😂
I know, I know, it's Pensacola. But you messed up doing ground beef. Commercial tacos and actual Mexican tacos are two different playing fields. And hard shell isn't even really a thing when you go to a actual taqueria.
I actually dislike when restaurants advertise 'authentic'. The word authentic is pretty ambiguous on quality. I could go to Italy and cook Italians some frozen Bubba hamburgers, and it'd be their most authentic burger ever, but it definitely won't be a Tops burger.
Looks like I need to try out some new places for Mexican food. There's another place that's been my go to in Robertsdale, Alabama that's called El Rodeo.
Holden Hardman ok. I was just wondering because it won the poll. But I’m assuming that it’s because there’s a lot more movie that you decided to do this on the side
The food trucks have the more authentic tacos, corn tortilla, meat, onions, cilantro, verde sauce. While the restaurants have the Americanized versions, with the hard shells & shredded cheeses, lettuce & tomatoes. I love all tacos, but i prefer the food truck style more.
Love Mexican food, good Mexican food not a number blah blah. I was wondering if one of these restaurants were the one on 9 mile behind or near the gas station next to the last chance bar. Familiar? I went buy there and haven’t seen it. Just a note if you would thanks!
We have a lot of food-trucks here in Tallahassee, and they're actually far better than the Mexican restaurants. Personally though, I've never really liked Mexican food or Tex-Mex all that much. Cuban food is really good though, we use to have a lot of places for Cuban food, but now we're down to only a few authentic Cuban restaurants. It's been a while since I've been but *Habana's Boardwalk* is really good, if you're ever in Tallahassee.
Dude by far the Best Tacos Place in Pensacola at the Tacos Mexicanos Home | Tacos Mexicanos East Hill 2:52 as she turns around and goes to Taco Bell!! lol
I went to La Ha once. so freakin cheezy with their fake decorations food was AWFUL. CACTUS flower in Pensacola is the best. But their other locations suck! and the top three I have never tried. Thanks for your reviews!! I reposted your video for my friends
