We loved our September stay at the Schéhérazade (or however you pronounce it 😀) where our stay happened to overlap with yours, my better half may have mentioned that I had recognised the two of you 👋 The staff were lovely, always helpful and friendly, whether at the restaurant, pool or beach. As you've highlighted the beach was great and the weather great as we missed the rain that came in your second week. TBF the entertainment was fairly low key and a little repetitive over two weeks but as an adult only resort that was ok by us, the entertainment staff were great. The coffee lounge was a special spot and we managed to get two bookings at the Culinarium (just ask Dave). We had a swim up room but were in the middle and would suggest you request either end to allow easy access for getting to the beach if you are looking to book the Swim up room. We visited both Sousse Medina and Port El Kantaoui (Had a great meal at Restaurant Le Mediterranee) where there was the general feeling tourists are being targeted so don't fall for the chat :) Our arrival and departure from Enfidha-Hammamet airport was stress free particularly on the way back where we'd booked the Primeclass lounge, complete with red carpet
Great to hear all of this! Nice to know you were watching before hand too. 👋 We also booked the vip lounge. Just editing that one now. How exciting. Where are you off to next?
I’m still a fan of Egypt but they aren’t as chilled as the Tunisians and in my experience, the airport was less pleasant too. But I hear multiple stories. I’m trying Morocco soon, hopefully.
Just got back from Sousse. Lovely people, Lovely clean beach, food is Mid, airport staff not so good just trouble makers. Would i go back, yes already hoped and planned for next trip but not looking forward to going through the airport again, if we didn't have british embassy to hand we'd be screwed! I was held in the airport for close to 6 hours until i had enough and got in touch with british embassy! I also missed my transfer to my hotel, good i had cash with me (£) so i could pay the taxi, wasn't cheap was 40 quid but i gave 30 as it was my first time in Tunisia and wasn't sure what the prices are and because of my experience at the airport it ruined my experience and i started suspecting others of scamming me but on my return to the airport to go back to the UK i realised that is the actual price so now i kind of feel bad on the taxi guy as he was not lying or trying to scam me, unfortunately i didn't meet him again and i took a different taxi back so if i ever return again and i see him i hope to apologize to him and give him the remaining £10. It seems i was going to experience the same thing at the airport on my departure until i told them i was held for many hours on arrival and after i mentioned british embassy they let me go through. The police staff member who i was kept with in the room i was detained in asked me to give him £20! I said jog on mate!
@@LouiseUsher Not at all, it would be silly to let the airport experience ruin my complete experience of the holiday and country and to let it make me not want to come back although for many others this would become the case as it isn't a minor thing, it's a major thing, no one wants to experience such a thing and be held at an airport for so many hours not knowing whats going to happen next and to not be told why you've been held, imagine if i didn't have money, a phone with any form of internet connection etc as i had to message my sister on social media to tell her to contact british embassy for me because i had no credit left on my sim, i didn't feel safe at all, the airport was literally empty everyone had gone and there was just me and one police, lights were all turned down in the airport, the airport is a shambles not helpful at all really and the facilities are crap. The first man who questioned me asked me so many strange questions and after he left the police guy i was left with was all so nice he even offered me his food etc but when he asked for the £20 quid i lost all respect for him. If i ever go again i'm going to make sure i give a heads up to the british embassy in advance! I have been to so many countries and never ever in my life have i had such an experience at an airport, up until this Tunisia trip and i've never ever been detained too! Sorry for such big comments but i am telling my experience so if any one else reads this they know it could be them it happens to and that they should be prepared in such events. I have to say from my experience the people are slightly wary of tourists, since the 2015 shootings and since the country went down due to that event and it lost a lot of it's tourist industry in the country which of course brings money in to the country, sad really and unfortunate. Regardless, i had a good holiday there and i loved my hotel, i stayed at Iberostar Selection Kantaoui Bay and the staff and service were amazing they were so helpful, apart from the fact there has been new owners who have taken over and you can only get food at the set times through the day and there's no room service for food due to the season.
@@Jiha96 Yes when i got detained there was another man before me who was originally from Tunisia and he was also being held for ages, he was telling me things which were not so good but bless him he helped me at the beginning with translating until he left.
I went to a barber shop for a haircut just nearby Sousse i think it was in a different area not so sure, he was telling me how since the tourist side of Tunisia has declined and since the past events in the country how Tunisian's mindset has changed and it's just mainly about money now which i can understand, it affects a lot of things in many ways, it's happening in many countries now to be honest not just Tunisia but hey it is what it is, have to be positive and never let negatives out weigh the positives, it's all apart of the experience, no country is perfect and there's good bad every where, especially now the world economy in many countries has gone down hill, the experience and people have also changed. Life.
May 7, 2023 I will return to this fantastic hotel for the 6th time

@@LouiseUsher Nothing planned right now, maybe you could suggest somewhere that might live up to this?

Hi Louise, what room number was you staying in? I absolutely love that view
I think it was 803. But I forgot to be honest. Must keep a track in future.

That sounds terrible. Glad you aren’t judging on that though.
