We've been using the Alpicool 50 for over two years now, and we can confidently say that it has become an indispensable companion for our outdoor adventures. The first thing that impressed us was its portability. Weighing just [mention weight], it's easy to carry around, and its compact design fits perfectly in our car or camper van.

I've had my Alpicool CX50 since 2018 and it is still working strong. Some things I've changed/added to make the cooler more efficient. 1. Made a coozy out of reflectix (mylar bubble wrap insulation). I use mine at the beach so this also keeps the sun off the cooler. 2. Put a towel on your food to trap the cold air and separate it from the air right under the lid. The area right under the lid is not actively cooled by the compressor and the lid doesn't insulate very well. You get a lot off loss there. Also covering the top of the cooler with a large towel also helps with the overall insulation. 3. Lastly, I replaced the cigarette plug with an aftermarket one. The cigarette plug is very poorly designed and always slips out.

Agreed! It's made cheaper but it does exactly the same as the one that costs 3 x the price. And I can vouch for the durability 👍 I've not been kind to the cooler 😈

It actually does have a non-documented bluetooth feature. It's not on the website or even in the manual but I am using it. Got mine from Princess Auto for $288 as well.

The box is Chinese made but the compressor is German. I have an Alpicool C30 but it has a Bluetooth app and a back-up battery to keep it cool between the home and the vehicle or at the beach or anytime you are away from a power source. The BT app can calibrate the readout to the actual temps for best accuracy.

Good on ya Michael. A little jealous at this point. Another burglary suffered, and they cleaned me out of ALL of my camping gear. Easily $5K worth of good/solid gear. Pretty bummed about it. Hoping your gear remains safe and sound. I'll enjoy watching you get some good use out of it all.

@@story1234 Yes they are insulated. On eco mode it works very well keeping things cold. I set mine for 3c and it keeps produce there no problem. If possible keep it out of the sun so it’s not having to over cool 👍
Hey folks, got the 50CX from PA, has Bluetooth and battery backup (299cdn), it’s saweeeet, but what have you found for the battery backup (waiting for the 2L of salt ice water to freeze to do the test). How long has it ran on battery??
Honestly if PA advertised it properly I never would have got one.
I can run it for about 3 days with a 600wh Power Station - In moderate weather conditions. Warmer weather it might consume more. 👍

Ya know, I’ve always wanted one of these… but realistically,regular ice, dry ice, a cooler and some extra insulation gives me a good 5 days of cooling
I hear you - but not dealing with flooded butter and bacon in ice water is worth it. It doesn't cool any better than ice your right, but its 100% consistent on the set temperature 👍
