Nice work bagger, my late uncle taught me the Domhoff knot many years ago, I-used to tie down to size 28’s but seem to have developed sausage fingers now and can’t do hooks smaller than a 20, I have noticed though that certain lines pigtail with the best line (Pro Micron) being the only consistent line, a lot of the pre-stretched lines nowadays are just not up to the job, I have even had batches of n-gauge line pigtail on me or snap especially the 0.09 which was really brittle
Andy can to let me know where you got the hook box. Your video showing the tying is well filmed and easy to follow. Brilliant.
Great video well presented and youve got a work shop I could only dream of take care Paul Roberts cheadle
Never seen the type of knot that you use on your loops. The loops are so tiny it’s not easy to see exactly how you are doing them. Could you please do a video to show just this in more detail. Thanks
The hook length box looks good
Great video! Can I ask where that rig board you have is from please?
Hi mate I have one it's called the RIG MATE PRO. Google it it will come right up . Best thing to do your rigs. It's has a bit of weight to it too so it don't slide everywhere. You only have to buy one once. They was designed by Jordon Holloway .
I'm coming back in to the sport after a while, how come you don't use a hook tier?
No hook tyer can do as good a job as your fingers.
If you learn to do it ,you will tie perfect hooklengths everytime, even with thick fingers, like mine.
The key is to have the line spool fixed by a method of your choice.
Just asking should you not whip down the shank?
Yes it's a stronger hold that way, this way is only held by the first 2 or 3 whippings. Pigs tails can happen here
Quality!
Hi I just got the new hooklink box I put 4inch hook links both sides of box but when I closed it the box didn’t shut properly help please
It's not for me to question someone of your brilliance 🤣😂 BUT. If you look at the loops that have been in the box any length of time you'll notice the line has got a flat spot on the inside of the loops. I adjusted my lengths a bit so they aren't so tight in the boxes. 😉
Wow you do it ALL by hand 😮. No hook tyer or loop tyer in sight. no way i could do that. And i have small hands.
I used to tie spades like that no problem, then my eyes meant I had to use a tier, now I can't tie them at all!
I hope you find a way to continue fishing.
I myself, found out recently that i have some vision problems, and i am worried that in the future,i might not be capable to go out.
Best wishes of health!
@@andreipetrescu603 Thanks. It's sometimes difficult to see the float, but it's no so bad that it prevents me going yet. I have to use a float with the thick bristle and one that seems bright, like on Drennan Crystal floats. I also take some strong glasses with me, just in case I have to tie something or use a disgorger.
@@andreipetrescu603 I never tried a black tip, I will have to try that. The drinking straw idea is brilliant, you should make a YT vid of it.
@@andygrove285Not my ideea by any streach of imagination, probably a decades old trick that i found on the internet.
Look for Mark Wintle channel here(and i encourage you to subscribe ,like, and share his clips,he deserves that much for taking the time to share these tricks),where he describes in his float videos, this trick and many more!
🤝
Edit:Try the black tips, when the water surface is white/silvery!!!
It s all about contrast...
