Germany's last place wast the most WTF in the whole competition. It was not the worst song of this year and the live show was great. The should definitely have been in top 15.
Unpopular opinion, but Iceland's song was just way too shouty and strained. Beautiful song, but sometimes it just felt like she was screaming and losing her voice
@@sollig_75 It's a shame because she's got a great voice. Her song 'Shadows' is beautiful and it's lower pitched so her voice is fully supported. All they had to do was bring 'Power' just a little lower pitched and I think she would have qualified
I'm always so pleasantly surprised to see how well Noa Kirel is doing on these lists!!! Like honestly, she won the secondary contest after Loreen and Kaarija, she owns that 3rd place and we shouldn't forget that.

Käärijä has a relatively weak singing voice but displayed vocal versatility beyond just "good" singing. I think Käärijä should've won, I like that song/performance best but I accept that by the stated jury criteria he would probably never be ranked no.1 by them however I don't really see why some of the other more commercial, musically straightforward, well sung entries were ignored or low ranked by the juries
@@Hepsvljn We can agree to differ but I must point out that if the juries had treated all the other "well sung" acts even- handedly then "Tattoo" would not have had such a massive lead prior to the televote. I also think though that maybe if it hadn't been so widely believed that the juries were going to fall heavily behind that song then maybe some of the other rockier acts might have picked up more televotes instead of the more informed televoters feeling they had to get squarely behind "Cha Cha Cha"

In late 2022 there was the decision of introducing the ROW because of viewers area reduction and eliminated juries from the semifinals because of the six corrupted juries that altered the result, now let's see what they'll bring on (I think nothing because EBU likes too much to decide the winner and eliminating the juries would be brutal for both the integrity of the contest and for EBU who likes Sweden
Guys Kaarija coming 4th was even more than he could have hoped for. The actual system is perfect and the way its presented as well (before 2016 it was so bad and not that intense)

It’s also showing staying power with almost two million streams every day which is exceptional a month after the contest. People want to listen to it. So it is both better and more successful.
Not with THAT performance she didnt. And that is something you must remember. The songs themselves are one element, but the act must perform it optimally in order to really "Deserve" high placement. She didnt execute well at all.
@HealsPls sorry but Finland's song is a karaoke song, everybody can sing it literally, loreen's actually a structured song with a MEANING. It was the best song this year, at the end it's Eurovision SONG Contest.
Getting 2nd place isn't anything to sneeze at. Think of all those artists who were in national finals only to not even GET to Eurovision, and he got SECOND in the WHOLE dang thing!
Many second place songs are better remembered than the 1st place songs. Verka Serducha for example is Eurovision legend and not many people remember who was the 1st that year... So I believe that also Käärijä will be one of those crazy performances that will be remembered better than the winner. :)
