I could write a list of writers and shows that we produce here in the UK that is always so ahead of its time in both technique and material it makes me proud to British too. Well done lads.
They have to move it forward a few years each time there's a new load of middle-aged men. They moved me in recently and it was an Ultravox tribute band. And they only did the Midge Ure years.
I like this sketch, I think it describes the increasing marginalisation of older people in this country. You see ads from insurance companies like LV, talking about life insurance covers for people nearing 50. 50 for christ sake, people haven't retired by then!
Its actually the youth whom atmre marginalised. The commercialosation of college and forgoimg of marriage. Amd the ceiminalisation of yputh sexuality. And the excessive age restrictions.
Middle age is scond puberty for men. Theyre easily irate and always comparing everything to their childhood days. Wlderly men are different. More calm and humble.
Yeah, The Armando Iannucci Shows. Honestly one of the best things in British comedy in the 2000s - the first one was broadcast the week after 9/11 so it kind of fell below the radar
The little “alright” n “ok” after every devastating statement is amazing.
I've watched this so many times 🤣🤣🤣 her delivery is amazing!!
I'm 45 and I'd sign up for this in a heartbeat.
2 days after my 42nd birthday, I HAD to dig this one out and watch it......😂
"Possibility is a private party to which you are no longer invited"
Absolutely brilliant delivery by the nun (by the way pol) - the way she says that astronaut line, great stuff.
“What you haven’t done now, you’ll never get done” absolutely haunting 😂
I remember watching this originally and finding it funny, now it's more like a documentary.

Well done lads.
Just had my barber ask for the first time if I want him to do my eyebrows. Immediately came here.
utterly hilarious and also terrifying
Even more now 3 years on 😳😳
This is both hilarious and tragic. And yet, so true.
I like how it takes a few hours to prepare a chair.
I don’t get that joke
@@SandrineAnterrion It needs time to dry.
Heavy shitting session
His solemn arrival and then the offer of a small beer, perks up for half a second 😂😂. BTW i’m 56.
"Perhaps you'd like a small beer" is a go to line of mine.
"perhaps you would like a Small beer" ha ha hahah
They should Remake this sketch with 80s kid reaching their 40s and just playing video games all day long, as they always wanted to . 🤣
😂 this rings so true, I watched this when it first came out and turn 42 this year 😂😂😢

"You have reared....but now you are spent!" ---- Genius :)
Thanks for uploading this! Genius!
You sit in a sports car, but you look like a worm on a diamond
The actor sitting in the group called Steve on his name tage was the dude that played pinhead in Hellraiser.
And in the back at 1:48 is the man who played David Beckham in Time Trumpet. Of course Glenn Cullen and Cliff Lawton are present as well.
And actually, a very VERY good cast was another reason this show was so bloody brilliant.
Doug Bradley
So it is!
Funny yet so depressing, simply brilliant.
I’m 42 and I feel ready for this home.
"You look like a worm on a diamond"
What you haven't done now, you will never get done.
I know a few people who hit that point in their early twenties!
Is that Glenn?
Yes it is
He's gone Glental.
Hello. A middle aged man just pissed himself.
As I am tired of all the happy Birthday memes - this will be my next handout to my friends. My few remaining friends. 🤩🦄😎
Actually sounds quite relaxing to be honest. . .
Nurse Ratched has some serious competition here!
"a small beer" already regulating his intake.
Is that Jonathan Pye at 2:03?
I'm only 26 but I know that THIS IS COMING. :-(
I always find myself better as I get older lol I can concentrate more and better at things than I ever was
you sure?
Early onset dementia - an early symptom.
I love the random radio chatter wtf 🤣
It was a recording of communications with an astronaut I believe.
Classic. Although having just turned 40 also somewhat dispiriting.
49 now. How's the home?
I've just turned 48, is the fear biting yet?
I'm 42 this year - I wonder if I'll get WiFi access in my home for middle aged men?
I'm not sure the Abba thing hit home. Pink Floyd tribute for sure!
They have to move it forward a few years each time there's a new load of middle-aged men. They moved me in recently and it was an Ultravox tribute band. And they only did the Midge Ure years.
Yes, middle aged women is abba. Prog rock, Genesis etc for men.
@@slacknhash unforgivable!
I mean you can’t really ever go wrong with abba
@@themadplotter agreed. If it's good enough for Alan Partridge...!

My dad was almost the exact same age when he bought his MX5 😂
Where do I sign up?
What comedy sketch show is this? I'd love to watch more of this hilarious actress.
I would have uploaded this if you hadn't!
Hilarious, as are most of the Armando Iannucci Shows!
Thanks!
What's that music? I heard it so often, but I never knew who composed it.
'Aquarium', from Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Säens.
Sod this I'm joining the astronaut programme! Raaaah!
Just as long as they provide 'space nappies'!
I need the address of this home for wayward men of a certain age
