@@khalidrajabov7998 You are talking about The Lord of the Rings, The Battle for Middle Earth 2 - The Rise of the Witch-King, Expansion Pack; I play it everyday my friend
I agree with you. I like Game of Thrones and the Night King. It is blatantly obvious that the Night King is a revamped version of the Witch King. Only Darth Vader has more presence than the Witch King. The scene after the Fell Beasts head is cut off, and we see the Witch King rise with mace and sword. . . wow that is/was impressive.
I always thought the Witch-King was killed on a technicality, that no MAN could kill him, based on Glorfindels prophecy over 1000 years earlier, but what was left out of the movie was that Merry was carrying a magical blade, sort of an anti-morgul blade, the kind that Frodo was stabbed with causing him to be pulled into the wraith realm. The Nazgul exist in the wraith realm, so when Merry stabbed him in the back of the knee, the Witch-King was instantly made mortal and no longer a wraith, making him vulnerable to being stabbed in the face by Eowyn.
Watching it, I was thinking, 'that line was pretty cheesy and that's how their going to kill off such a cool character?' But the way he went out collapsing in on himself made it cool, and I have little to no quarrels with his death. Only critique is that she is not tanking a hit from a mace that size and weight. Also her sword had to be enchanted inorder to cut through a dragon neck like that. Human heads don't even get cut off that neatly.
I mean, Glorfindel's prophecy should have been made explicit in the films, because in the film we're lead to believe that the Witch King is immortal, or rather unkillable.
@@abrahamedelstein4806 yeah because not only are we not made aware of the prophecy (especially since they basically removed Glorfindel from the film) but we don't even know that Merry has an enchanted blade in the film either.

@Antun Šturlić how did he have power level of a Maia I mean the ring was close to Mordor but Sauron didn't have it so it didn't increase his power. Sauron was in a very weakened form and could only indirectly influence the fight so he wouldn't be of very much aid to the Witch-king. @Antun Šturlić The movie version of Sauron found out the One Ring was in mount Doom, yet he wasn't capable of doing anything about it so I'm going to guess and say he couldn't do much on a distance and Minas Tirith is pretty far from Barad Dur The book version DID have a weak physical form so it doesn't exactly explain how the Witch-king defeat Gandalf

Arguably, yes, since Sauron prefers to stay in the shadow (and lacks the strength to come out into the opening without the One Ring), it is only natural for him to make the Witch King his proxy, his "hand" in directing his army. The Witch King is like the Vader to Sauron's Palpatine.
No justice is made for Sauron in the Movies, he is a lot more terrifying than the Witch King, Tolkien said that not even Aragorn could stand the presence of Sauron, the WK is a child near Sauron.

A beautiful heavenly force reduced to a terrifying darkness in the eyes of those blinded by its light. Something which is unable to portray itself properly due to the severe language barrier across the dimensions.
Kind of wish they had gone with book version of the confrontation between Gandalf and the Witch King. In the book the orcs aren't able to break the gates of the city so when the bring out the big ram, the Witch King magically enhances it to shatter the gate. Gandalf has his, 'no matter what comes through that gate.' moment, and its the Witch King that rides through on just a horse and that alone has everyone scared to death. He breaks Gandalf staff but then is called away because the Rohiram have arrived. I love that they displayed the Witch Kings power in some way when he confronted Gandalf.
@GreenWithers Hubris comes before nemesis, as they say.
@@johns1625 Fun Fact: The Witch King is actually the Darth Vader of The Lord of The Rings.

He is more than capable of beating him without his staff, since he defeated the Balrog (much more powerful than the Witch King) without it
@Antun Šturlić how did he have power level of a Maia
I mean the ring was close to Mordor but Sauron didn't have it so it didn't increase his power.
Sauron was in a very weakened form and could only indirectly influence the fight so he wouldn't be of very much aid to the Witch-king.
And even if he was on the level of a Maia Gandalf is a very powerful Maia and he had the elven Ring of Fire which is much more powerful than the witch-king's Ring of Power

He's all looks and no substance. Literally, the witch King was a void. His physical body had basically ceased to exist by this point. It was a ghost with a form bound to the armour by dark magic.

The Witch King shatters his staff, he breaks his rod in a physical display which simply meant in fullness and truth.
'Look; I did not even have to wave my hand and I knocked you off of your feet.' Gandalf certainly could have taken the Witch King in his fetal-form at his beginnings. Long before this encounter, but the Witch King has perverted himself and done such. Heinous unspeakable evils that even a wizard is now in peril against that which was once a mere sorcerer. A sorcerer who serves a very willing and capable master which fueled all of his endeavors and made new dark spells. Beyond any human or even Maiar comprehension, Gandalf is shocked but I'm sure none of this happened in the books.
Finally...someone said it.. indeed, never happened!
@@pantelisliakos2481 Yeah it's just dope to cross some of the cool lore into these awesome scenes. The Witch King was definitely the stuff of nightmares both in the book and in the movies
"The Nazgûl were they, the Ringwraiths, the Enemy's most terrible servants; darkness went with them, and they cried with the voices of death."
01:05- they cried with the voices of death.
he is stabbed from the back. unfaithful hobbits.
Hobbits save the world this agent .
The witch king would never be damaged or well.. sort of petrified as he is in the movie by a simple stab to his leg
@@siddharthshivhare8090 it is not a simple stab tho. It's by a dagger specifically enchanted to harm witch-king
@@anubis9692 still, a being of his power brought down so easit
Bagginsses we hates you!
That Eowyn kills the Witch King is fantastic. Considering the actress playing Eowyn had to play the sceme with extreme fear in character as Eowyn was really unskilled in warfare. Basicaliy she was lucky to destroy the beast
She was unskilled in warfare, but very skilled in duel. Most persons facing the Witch King would have died in the first seconds of the fight.
@@Specoups She, um, actually does nearly die. In the novel, the wraith-king breaks her arm and shield the instant he fights her; she only wins because Merry stabs him with a sword designed to slay creatures like him.
"So passed the sword of the Barrow-downs, work of Westernesse. But glad would he have been to know its fate who wrought it slowly long ago in the North-kingdom when the Dúnedain were young, and chief among their foes was the dread realm of Angmar and its sorcerer king. No other blade, not though mightier hands had wielded it, would have dealt that foe a wound so bitter, cleaving the undead flesh, breaking the spell that knit his unseen sinews to his will."
@@LordMortanius Alright.
I'll take the part of your comment addressing my point, the one saying that the Witch King almost killed her in the first few seconds of the fight. I can say that sadly while this would be contradicting what I said before *if* I was talking about the books.
But I am talking about the movies. I have nothing to back up my arguments but personal feeling. I just say that the Witch King would probably have killed a warrior not as skilled as Eowin was in duel in the movies, in the first few seconds of the fight.
She wasn't completely unskilled, Aragorn himself compliments her swordsmanship in the second film.
5:43 that one scene almost ruined the whole movie for me, either that dragon is really stupid and has no idea how to catch hes food, how old are these dragons, wyverns?? 500 years old, look at the battle scars on that beast, and this 1 weak woman kills it??, she can hardly hold up that sword!. this whole scene was just a way to make a (feminist) woman look good in a fighting scene!.. cant remember this from any other lotr movie/cartoon or book!.
6:58 "iam not a man" yes only the all powerful feminist woman can destroy evil man!. and they had to add SJW bullshit into the movie.. so sad! again cant remember this from any other lotr movie/cartoon or book!.
“DO YOU NOT KNOW DEATH WHEN YOU SEE IT, OLD MAN?”
when the witch king is looking out after hearing the horn of rohan and the mens choir is playing along with that, its not in the actual movie but i wish it was it makes that part 1000x more epic...great touch!
Around 0:07 you can see that before the Witch King puts his gauntlets on all there is is an arm bone. And that means he uses his dark magic to move his armor while being rooted in an undead corpse. That's kind of metal.
One of the iconic villains ever
He is trash in fighting tho
Making the nazguls and espically witch king of angmar so mysterious was a really great decision makes them more terryfying and making the witch king more awesome.
Hope the amazon series doesn’t go full on to explain their background and how everything works, only little but still keep the mystery.
Just dont watch it, modern films are crap
@@The_Natalist yeah I sadly watched only 4 episodes of rings of power but I still regret it
3:12 I will fight any person who tries to tell me that's not the coolest thing they have ever seen.
Nasty lady killed his puppy, make Witch King mad.
XD
I’m gonna get my revenge someday, just not now.
Objectively the greatest costume in the trilogy, fantastic stuff
3:04 This fear on his face. Great acting, sir Ian!
There's a lot of things i can accept in this film as they belong in the realm of fantasy. However. Eowyn decapitating the Fell Beast with such ease is ridiculous. Unless she had a light saber or some special elvish weapon there's no way!
That s because this movie is so incredible - you easily accept a few mistakes, you even like them a bit !
That's because the flying creatures in the book are different from the films. In the books, they are described more like birds (maybe pterodactyles), as opposed to these dragons from the films. A bird neck is much thinner than a dragon's.
My favorite character. Always.
One flaw of the movie: this guy didn't have enough screentime
Probably one of, if not the best introduction of a villain in cinema
