I felt so happy seeing this ridiculous clip because it reminded me of mom. Since her death I have been shedding tears in her memory but today I laughed remembering the times in childhood when she would tell me something funny and I would be like, "Ma wait wait hold your thought, let me go to the next room to laugh and come back." To this day I am not sure if the boyz were really that stupid or was it a clever move by Louis Walsh to make their introduction through humor so that one day 'That Dance' become some sort of an urban legend. Maybe he had thought through the whole thing. 20 years later, this band would become one of Ireland's greatest pop music export, having sold over 30 million records, with 16 consecutive UK No.1 Singles and the world be like, "Remember that dance before they were famous?" Walsh must have had a future telling parrot because otherwise it seems like a managerial-entrepreneurial suicide to pick these silly boys as Ireland's answer to Take That or anything for that matter. Imagine if they never became anything, this would have remained their only public appearance, and people would be looking for Louis Walsh, the man responsible for this catastrophe.
I can understand the crowd, a country famous of producing great musicians and composers , and of course the band U2 , and then this shows up on stage. If it wasn't for the songs that someone else wrote Boyzone would go now where.

As much as i disliked Boyzone, i LOVE how this group had the last laugh over that vile, pompous host who stoked the audience in to laughing at the band. I HATE cheap comedy and people taking the p*** out of people who are genuinely trying to get somewhere in life. And the fact that Boyzone achieved success a million times over what the host ever achieved is oddly satisfying. Although Mark Walton dropped out of Boyzone shortly after this, he did find major success later on. Sadly he also faced a dark period where a psychotic ex partner made his life hell, who eventually went on to kill the au pair who his ex employed because she thought the au pair had links to Mark. How truly awful. The story was just covered by Coffee House Crime here on YT. Glad to see Mark remain a positive and inspiring person. I hope he continues to see success.
