This video is so helpful because my grandparents have about 30 chickens but they only get 2 eggs a day so this helped them a lot 😇😊
Haha 30 chickens need a lot of food! ☀️❤️☀️
Nice job with 'break shots' Scott! It was cute to cut to the animals on the farm, while 'Mother Hen' = Becky, was explaining. MY YOU EXPLAIN WELL AND THOROUGHLY ! Mother Hen/Becky! = Juuuust a NATURAL! Scott, I was sooOOOOooo happy that the vid cut away to a different visual other than Becky holding those 'Chicky-Babes'! WHEW! One chicken, next shot; Two chickens, next shot; Three chickens...Dear Lord! How was she going to manage 4?! Together, you are quite the TALENTED TEAM! Your chickens are soOOOoo chill with you Becky...It proves your 'genuineness' and love of all things in nature. God's blessings on you and Scott and fam. You come along as a 'treat' in this crazed world!
Thank you so much☀️❤️☀️
One of your best vids Becky. Straightforward excellent info. I bet this has come about as a result of lots of your own observations. One for the library! Thanks.
Good morning Becky. Your chicken's are beautiful so are all your other animal's. I can tell how much you love and take care of them. Thank you for sharing this information with us.
💗🐓💗🐎💗🐈💗🐕
Your so welcome☀️❤️☀️
@@BeckysHomestead 💗xox hugs Becky. Love ALL your video's !
That type of oats are not available to us here in Trinidad and Tobago. I add flax seeds and rolled oats to their feed. I also ferment alot and they go crazy for moringa leaves.
Thx this video was so helpful
She slowly started holding more chickens
🤣
Hello Becky, I always watch your videos and the advice you give are so helpful, sending you love and a lot of support all the way from Africa,Algeria. Xo
Hahaha thank you☀️❤️☀️
Thanks for the advice 👍
Thanks Becky, you're the best!!!
Great information, thank you
Great videos as always. My chickens eat around the oats and won’t touch them.
Try putting a coating on them but still healthy for them
Love your videos Becky Thank You
I'm so glad you like them☀️❤️☀️
We rarely fed our chickens grit. Instead, we feed them crushed oyster shells(acts just like grit), and we crushed up their eggshells after we used the egg. Both have lots of calcium. I like that you went through and showed a break down of what you feed them. Happy chicken, happy kitchen!
I do feed both crushed oyster shells and grit. I think it benefits them and keeps them laying lots of eggs☀️❤️☀️
My 9 Rhode Island Red chickens plucked the rear end feathers of 4 chickens. It was bare skin!
I started feeding them 2 (now 3, cuz the tuna cans are now 1/2 water) cans of tuna, twice a week and dried meal worms everyday. VIOLA!
Chickens stopped plucking others feathers.
AND I get bigger, cleaner, and heavier eggs.
Soooo, my chickens needed PROTEIN.
I'm a city girl now in small town, learning country ways. ❤️ It!
❤️🇨🇱🇺🇸✝️🙏
Hey Becky thanks for this video very educational
Your welcome☀️❤️☀️
Another awesome video
Hello becky i am dakota turner i love your videos an thank you
when Becky went to. Chicken 🐓to 🐓🐓🐓 I really felt that
This saved my life fresh eggs again!!!!
My chickens we were given from a chicken meat farm since they were to big for the truck load they were to go on but we have had them for a while but they have laid no eggs yet also they are pretty young only a few months old so I was wondering if you could tell me if it where they come from that makes them bad layers or just to young or is it something else
Great advise! Does heat play a part if they've stopped laying? Central Florida has been so hot these past weeks, I wonder if that is a contributing factor. Mine are also molting quite a bit these past weeks. Should I add something to their diet? Thank you for all your help with chickens! You're the BEST!! ❤🐔🐓🐣🐤🐥
They usually won't lay eggs when they're molting. Energy is going into making new feathers. Dry cat food is good for extra protein. I will provide it in the winter when bugs are scarce or when they are molting.
Yes, many hens will stop laying or lay less often when it is really hot or when they are molting. Try to keep them as cool as possible and up their protein intake.
Chickens don't lay eggs when they molt. This is a strange time for them to molt. I live in FL and my hens lay all summer. They need dark shade and just let them chill, don't let anything chase them around.☀️❤️☀️
Hi Becky! Another great informative video. Thank you! My chickens are loosing a lot of feathers, they’re about 17 weeks. Any idea?
Just feed them some kind of meat every day to grow new feathers☀️❤️☀️
Becky's Homestead Thanks!!
I have been subscribed from the beginning

Becky
Thanks Becky! My chickens are over two months old so they should be laying right? I haven't seen a single egg. I will change their diet to this and see what happens!
Gaideness Chickens 24 weeks old is when they'll start some even later.
You are wonderful lady
I got 5 chickens as 1 day old chicks in mid-april, when will they lay their first eggs?
Hi becky, thanks to you, I have 6 new chickens in my backyard, they are 5 month old, because i lived in the city, they are not free range, only 2 hrs, every day. How much corn for those 6 hems? 1/2 cup, 1 cup,? bread 1 slice 3 o 4 sliced, what is your recommendation?
and they like so much the scratch, how much and how often ?
and also can offer fruits and vegetables every day? because is my first time raising chicken (only 5 months), i don't know if i feed them to much?
You can feed them all vegetables and fruits are the best for fresh and healthy eggs, and make sure they all have food yes feed them a cane or more if you feel that they're hungry
They sure can be finicky little ladies 😊
hi becky i got chickns seeing 1 uv your vid
Hello Becky, I have a question. I have a dozen layers, they're 4months old and 5 of them have started laying eggs already. Do I give them layers feed now or should I wait for the others to start laying first?
I would switch them onto layers as soon as they start laying as layers has more calcium in it
@@mingmong1231 thank you, I went out and got them the feed before everything closed.
Can layer pellets work like layer mash?
What kind of bread would you recommend feed8ng them?
.
Rio Zeta Bread is spelt correctly it was my mistake on feeding
Ima try with my rode island red she lay the lest eggs. Or confuse that the orange hens layed it.
Or free range and save on that feed bill
Hey Becky, my hens have been laying for two weeks now. When I let them out to free range and walk behind them I notice that sometimes they'll stop and lay down. What's reason for that.
Are they squatting because they think your a rooster? Your triggering the responce☀️❤️☀️
@@BeckysHomestead I'm not sure. I only have 4 hens and they just started doing this. They'll lie down and shake for a brief moment. I'll pet them then walk away then they get up as if nothing happened.
@@brianganstine2137 they start digging in earth?
@@thenightlight7232 no
@@brianganstine2137 mmm i don't know because some of them do a dust bath anyway why dont you bring a rooster
I have a blue Andalusian chicken how do I take care of it make a video on that please
Great info. PS, your hens are so stressed they fell asleep in your arms. All three of them. I'm thinking they may be a bit spoiled. And that is OK.
No if they're stressed they won't sit peacefuly without noise or flapping
Hi mamm.
Nice one.

Pakistan.
stop flirting

Thanks☀️❤️☀️
How old is To old
I have 8 chickens. They are 12 weeks old. We live next to a train. Hopefully they get used to it and lay eggs.
I thought bread was bad for chickens? I have a move in rooster and I love him to bits. I've thought about getting 2 hens for the fresh eggs but confused about the bread thing.
A little bread is fine, don't over do it☀️❤️☀️
@@BeckysHomestead awesome! Thank you so much! :)
My father had 40 chickens and 12 roosters and now I have 4 chickens and 3 roosters but not laying eggs
Is the light golden one your holding is a rooster?
They are all hens☀️❤️☀️
good morning sweetie hope you have a great day
Thanks, you too☀️❤️☀️
good morning
☀️❤️☀️
Can you please give me that list of 5 things again please
Hello leay I am from Pakistan and I can talk to you can you hen me about this
🐓🐓🐓👍👌☺️
Becky I'm from india
I need to know how many days we are harvest fertilized eggs for hatch
Make harvest video toooo
mine won't eat corn
mine no corn i even germinate it nop
😃🙏❤️🙏👍
if you handle chickens regularly and let dogs around from a young age then you don't have 99% of these issues. It's only when you get chickens from other flocks that were ignored entire baby/teenage life.
Point of lay for one month but one is not laying
That hen has spurs
Wait this is a reupload from a video 2 years ago no more ideas becky???
Joboy Manubag she’s just updating her content , think of it as an updated version
Lots of ideas, but I'm super busy lining things up☀️❤️☀️
One of my chickens are eating the eggs
Last year our new young hens were breaking and eating their eggs. I bought a couple fake, ceramic eggs from the farm store and put those in their nest boxes. Also, i gave them more protein in the form of dried meal worms and scrambled eggs. And I collected the eggs earlier. That stopped them. No problems since.
Feed them more animal protein. ☀️❤️☀️
Why do you put in videos of chickens when you say this is what it looks like?
Damn Becky;) need a man
High protein is what a hen needs to lay eggs. Corn and bread are NOT high protein.
@@Strait_fan it still isn't high protein and a hen needs it to replenish her body.
Yes, hens need meat, but a well rounded diet keeps the healthy and happy☀️❤️☀️
@@BeckysHomestead how long have you raised chickens
