Been playing JP where this has been a thing for a while and don't worry, the note speed changes are multiplicative to your set speed only, your speed still matters as most of the time, it's still at 1.0x and it doesn't go past that often Edit: like you demonstrated, the speed doesn't change often, it only does it in a few parts and most of the time, it's to follow the music, such as having the notes stop when the music pauses
I LOVED THIS VIDEO!! howeeverr - note speed does matter, since speed changes are sometimes based on your note speed. also, building onto the part involving faster notes, i agree! most pros play at around 9-10+ speed. however, for people watching this video for tips, most people don’t recommend going above 11.5 as notes end up becoming too fast and can make yourself more prone to damaging your hands if you come across a difficult chart - for those disappointed with the update, don’t worry! the update itself at the time is underwhelming, but as we get into the future of the global server there will be more songs with this speed change (yaminabe, kirapipi☆kirapika, snow white princess (i forget the full name), jinsei and more)! there will also be a new feature involving a stop mechanic where the chart will pause itself briefly to try and throw you off. the first chart to have this feature will be shanti master - finally, for those excited about this game now involving charts that require 3+ fingers, you guys will love the future updates! as of now as ensekai changes, there will not be many more songs with this feature. the only ones we’ll get are yaminabe and jinsei. this will stay this way until late september, the game’s anniversary, where a new difficulty will be added to the game involving 3+ finger charts. the difficulty is called append, and there is no skill barrier to unlock this (ex. you do not need to get a certain amount of good/bad/misses to unlock these, you simply just need to purchase the song) hope this helped! again, loved the video!
I played the chart and a little before the hold note (right after 1st chorus) i think the notespeed went down slightly there too. And even if it’s just during a hold note, it can still be more jarring for when other songs have note changes (like yaminabe and gekokujo). You should keep in mind that the note speed changes depend on what your normal note speed is too, so it’s still very important.
I honestly thought the change would be significant (like how it is for yaminabe) but it likes slows down for like a single part of the song and then goes back to regular speed. Also the rate the notes speed up and slow down depend on the note speed that u use normally, so ur note speed does matter
Personally, hate the fact they are adding songs that REQUIRE more than two fingers. I play with thumbs. I tried playing with fingers once and hated how it felt. They really should have like either two versions of the charts or not have charts requiring more than two fingers. :/
I was wondering when they were adding speed changes and gimmicks, when the song was released on en I was confused as to why there wasn't a speed change 😭I'm used to playing on jp
