THANK YOU! I laughed like hell the night this aired and I’ve wanted to see it again ever since. I appreciate this!
One of those things that, when it happened, one was just astonished-and glad to be taping and be able to watch it again. Thank you, Don.
Two of my most favorite comedians. What a sweet great sketch. Hilarious.
Thanks Don. This is a classic
Steve&Dave should have got Emmys because it's so believable. Talk about great acting.
Thank you.
this is the first time i see the build up to this and its even better like this
Thanks again Don. I am fascinated by the contrast between one of the driest interviews I've seen on Dave and one of the funniest remotes.
I remember..This One..i Saw It In Sweden..👍 We Miss You..David..letterman 💖👍
Dave: Well I'll be darnedSteve: You will?
This particular _Late Show_ was repeated the following July. Saw this bit when it was reran when I was eight.
Fantastic! I would love to see a Steve Martin compilation (and Bill Murray).
Lots of digitizing to go before I can begin setting them up, but great idea.
Steve Martin has been gray haired longer than i've been alive
There's white hair too. My hair is turning white and I'm just happy it isn't gray. I'm not a grayist, just a personal preference.
Don Giller - do you have the Steve Martin bit where he claimed he was too sick to be on the show and asked to go lie down in Dave's office, only to throw a party? One of the funniest bits on Late Night ever.
October 1, 1984. I have it, but someone's already put it up. -- ua-cam.com/video/bmavj4w2INY/v-deo.html

9:07 is that Michael Rapaport?
Late Show stagehand Gene Syzmanski.
@@dongiller Thank you for the clarification, Don! Love the channel!
Where can I find more 98-08 episodes/clips? David is especially angry in this period but they don’t let those clips out too often.
Very funny!
Wasnt expecting Brokeback Martin
