It's very annoying when TSN insists on having 2 people take opposing views when the truth is so obvious. This quiz makes Cheryl Pounder look like an idiot. Obviously, Habs rebuild is miles ahead of Buffalo who just keep floundering every year, year in and year out. Habs are making slow but sure progress. They got younger this year but they are learning what it takes to win and they have a great prospect pool. Montreal demolished Sabres yesterday as if anyone would doubt it. Message to TSN: Cease and desist!! When something is obvious dont put one of your panelists in the unenviable position of trying to defend the indenfensible. Truth are hinesty are always best. Let 2 people give honest assessments even if they both agree. Creating an argument is silly. I refuse to believe that Cheryl Pounder truly thinks the nonsense she spouted here is true and it makes TSN look like Mickey Mouse outfit.
Wow I can't beleive she said Buffalo. Sabres have done nothing the last decade ..Habs have gone on a cup run and they have the youngest team in the league..or one of them.
The issue with the Sabres is that outside of the 2 #1 overall picks they haven’t hit on a single prospect. They have failed to draft and develops a single difference maker.
Ask any Habs fan, it’s felt like a regression this year. Laine, Hutson have done great to maybe tease what the team could be… we’ll see what happens when Ivan crosses the pond, and we move out 1-2 contracts.
Buffalo is in better shape short term but the habs are better long term. With that said, they both could be completely failed rebuilds and we wont know for years if not a decade for montreals case.
@ Michkov ONLY wanted to play for Philadelphia. So why on earth would any team draft him then? As for embarrassing, Buffalo is the poster child for that. I’m not defending Montreal, but if anyone actually thinks that Buffalo has a “future”, you are highly delusional and most likely, inbred.
@@justinwillness3162 can’t be embarrassed about this right now nobody knows what reinbacher will end up like. I’ll be happy if he is a solid shutdown D you need those type of players in playoff we have enough small forwards
The Habs’ front office seems to know what it’s been doing even if this season looks like that team will finish nowhere close to a playoff spot. Time will tell if the Habs have truly turned things around. The Sabres are the only NHL team with an active playoff appearance drought of at least 10 seasons, with ownership and management groups that don’t seem to know how to fix the many problems they’ve created. Yes the Sens also are under pressure to see playoff action this season but you’re in the past couple weeks have turned things around sufficiently they’re still very much in the mix for a playoff spot. The NYR also are although have fallen off so much they may end up finishing out of a playoff spot for the first time since the 2020-21 season. Over in the Western Conference, they likely will be at least one team that last season saw playoff action, but won’t be doing so this season: the Nashville Predators, with this regular season a 9-17-6-0 win-regulation loss-OT loss-shootout loss record that puts them in a tie for ninth in that conference’s wildcard race with the Blackhawks with 24 points over 32 games (the Hawks with more regulation wins), an astonishing 12 points back of the Flames and Avs for the second wildcard spot. The MN Wild, eight points up on the Avs for a top-three Central Division spot despite over US$14 million of so-called “dead money“ as part of their roster cap hits due to buyouts of Ryan Suter and Zach Parise, look likely to see payoff action this season instead of those Preds. Going into this regular season, I had predicted, in no particular order, the Jets, Avs, Stars, Preds and maybe the Utah Hockey Club would finish in the Central Division’s top-5. The only substitution so far among that division’s top-5 is the MN Wild for the Preds although the Blues are still very much of the mix to finish in that division as high as fourth.
What a joke of a question, it's not even a discussion. The Sabres we're supposed to be pushing for a playoff spot for the last 3 years, meanwhile Montreal has been rebuilding and stocking up assets during that time, and 3 years later they are neck and neck. Insert Demidov into this lineup and add some free agents after the dead weight old guys are gone and this team leapfrogs Detroit, Buffalo, and Ottawa. Keep doubting them though, they'll prove you wrong.
Buffalo is the American farm team 😂😅😢 . Anyhow it is nice how the got a ditzy female that has hope for Buffalo. No male reporter would want to do that . TO further his career .
Both teams really suck. The Habs are no further ahead of the Sabres. Thinking otherwise is delusional. Habs have better goaltending. That's about it. They suck up the middle after Suzuki. Their blue line is young and improving but haven't proven themselves. In theory, Sabres should be better because of Thompson, Cozens and Krebs up the middle and Dahlin, Power and Byram on the blue line but they aren't playing well.
Buffalo has been rebuilding for the last 13 years
However none of those players were on the team 5 years ago.
@@ozzydo2314 Dahln, Cozens, Joker, Thompson, were here 5 yrs ago
Good lord the Habs have only been rebuilding for 3 years. Why are they being compared at all to a team that has been mired at the bottom for 13 years?
Yes it's 3rd year from SC finale how they can be even comparable
I feel like Buffalo basically need to rebuild their rebuild.
Haha wow
arent they on their like 3rd rebuild

@vic5721 2nd youngest next to Buffalo I believe.
How the hell do you compare a 3 year rebuild with a 13 year rebuild? Wtf
Most of the players on the sabres werent there more than 3 years ago
@ that’s actually a lie, and also barely indicative of when a rebuild starts, but okay
Lmaooooo 6-1 final 😂 buffalo is ass
