Love this!! Eric was always my favorite Roller. Ok ladies, I have a confession to make.....When I was a very young lass do you know how many times my pillow got kissed because of Eric!! Come on...admit it! LOL Also; not to mention the many times my older brother would sneak into my room & draw faces on my BCR posters. My dear Mom would make him go buy me another 16' magazine to make up for it. Those were the days!!!!!!
I really love this video. It shows us Eric thru' all his phases in the band from the early days, looking so youthful on Shang-A-Lang in his Rollers' gear, and maturing into the rock star he wanted to be. I particularly like his and Alan's guitar work together on 'Back on the street' on American TV, later in his career. Eric was truly the heart throb of the seventies and Janny has included some fantastic shots of his famous blue eyes fringed by black lashes! So, do not miss this clip -- it's for keeps. Thanks again Janny! from Jo.
Thank you so much for this janny. I love listening to this. Eric has such a beautiful voice! Love to hear more from him. Such a handsome man he is : )xx
I love this song--listen to it everyday! The lyrics mean so much to me--really describes how it must have felt to him being a Roller. They (He) gave so much of themselves for the fans and didn't get squat for it (financially wise)--not fair at all! All my love to Eric forever-- ❤❤❤--He's one of the main reasons I started playing guitar. (thanks for the inspiration, Eric)🎸 To Mrs. MOPPET...I wrote out the lyrics to this song on your post from about two months ago.
Here you go (anybody who's interested)... At 17, I had a dream that I could be a rock 'n roll star I could be making my name out of headline blues I could really take it far In '72, it was all for you that I gave it all away With only 19 years gone I'm singing this song God, the future starts today... Yet it all seemed ohhh... oh, so easy then And there was a time yeah when the world would sing And the jive would cling And though the changes won't pass without the feelings That it won't ever be the same, somehow the story still remains With every end, I must believe in new beginnings In all the story books it's told The moral of the toad is to try... At 21, I was on the run So I thought I'd make the move And the tax man cried and the government sighed There's always someone else to groove After 23 years, I was kicking my heels And the dust got in my eyes And as the heads fall down, will they lose their crown God, it's nearly 25... Yet, it all seemed ohhh...so, so easy then And there was a time, time it could never end Hey, who's your friend... And, though the changes won't pass, without the feelings That it won't ever be the same, somehow the story still remains With every end, I must believe in new beginnings In all the story books, it's told The moral of the toad is to try... Lovin' his lyrics...love to Eric forever!🥰🎸 Now, I've just got to find the chords on the guitar so I can play it.
@@michelerosevear7466 Wow, it's like a dream! Thank you so much for uploading the lyrics to this song! The toad in these lyrics is from a Grimm's story, isn't it, The frog king or Iron Henry? I wonder if Eric has read the Grimm's fairy tales? I love this song so much! I love it even more when i understand the lyrics! Now I can always find Eric back then on youtube. And thank you so much for sharing the lyrics of this song!
@@nekoneko8207 That's cool....It's one of my absolute favorite songs by Eric!!! I seriously listen to it every single day. I assumed the toad was from a Grimm story; yes, the lyrics are awesome, aren't they! He always seems to put so much of his personal feelings into his songs...makes me feel like I know just what he was thinking or going through at the time. I'm working on learning to play this on guitar; it's got some quick chord changes though so might take a while to get it down. All my love to Eric and the rest of the BCR forever!!!❤❤❤🔥🎸
@@michelerosevear7466 Eric's songs have been wonderful since his BCR days, but I first heard this song on UA-cam. And it has become one of my favorites. Eric is still making great songs and bringing us love. I'm Japanese and it's hard for me to understand English, but now that you shared the lyrics with us, I can understand a little bit. And I also love the Grimm's story "The frog king or Iron Henry". Good luck with your guitar practice. I hope my poor English can reach you. Thanks to you and Eric and everyone at BCR.

Is this on a bay city rollers cd or one of erics
From the soundtrack of "Burning Rubber" even though he was not in this movie.
Sounds like Rick Springfield.
誰かのカバーだっけ⁉️
