Threw poor Nate right under the bus there 😂
Such an awesome video! Thanks for the detail!
I actually use the TX660 on the bride. Depending on the dress, I usually ask the bride if she’s comfortable placing the recorder between her chest or one side of her bosom, and 99% of the time, she’s OK with it. Audio sounds clean. No ruffles, no noise.
Yeah I see this done a lot too! Such a good way to use it and way easier than the thigh strap 🎉
@@JakeWeisler way easier. Which reminds me to get one more. LOL!!
Wish they made it in white for this purpose 😢
Do you need some kind of tape to fix it?
Great info. Thanks for sharing!
Really helpful thankyou so muuuuch
Good stuff!! Huge fan!
I love the balanced approach y’all have when it comes to weddings. I think far too often we see people fighting hard against timecode for absolutely no good reason, but you aren’t Justin Porter as well with 36 mics (even tho I am a huge supporter of him and member). Balance has helped me in my personal life and thank you for encouraging this balance while still prioritizing quality and couple experience!
There are so many RIGHT ways to film weddings - you need to draw inspiration from those around you - but ultimately decide on what works best for YOU and your style
I bought this Sony TX660 a few weeks ago and it is a game changer for me
right?? Such a necessity
I've been using a tentacle track e for audio for awhile. glad to see this being adapted more by people.
What a great video... thank you . Saludos desde España!
Thanks, for this video.
Thank you! Wind is my freakin nemesis
I use the Sony TX660 for other reasons Lol. For getting important speech notes when writing reports, for recording someone in a criminal evidence set-up and for recording lectures and note taking later🔥
My TX660 saves me more than my F3, and TASCAM Pros on almost every wedding 👍 and the Bumblebee concealers make the wireless lava actually usable. Wish this video existed about 2 years ago, very valuable info here 👏🙂
Thanks my man!
@@JakeWeisler Jake you mention the bubblebee lav concealer but which one fits the dr10L lavmic? Their website doesn't seem to list one that fits the tascam lavs.
Great video as usual! I'm using Rode GO II's as stand alone recorders for speeches and sometimes the officiant since they have dual track recording😊 I've bought two of those Sony 660s in the last 12 years of filming Weddings and I've lost both of them. They are so nice and small to hide but they hide from me when I'm leaving the wedding too😢
Love my TX660!
Best $100 I’ve ever spent 🎉
In Portugal its Over 170$@@JakeWeisler
Great video Jake! We have pretty much the same kit haha! Does the bubblebee lav concealer work with the Tentacle lav mic? Cause I can see it's made for Sennheiser ME 2-II 🤔
Thanks for the info on audio. I don’t have any of that in my equipment but like you said everything will be like a slideshow with out audio…
Agreed! Worth investing a few hundred bucks!
I LOVE the versatility of the tx660 and ease of use compared to my dr10l, just throw it on someone and go, even though the drl10l sounds just a smidge better.
What do you think about using Hollyland's Lark M2, attached to the main microphone?
Would love to see anyones experience with micing the bride with either the hollyland lark m2 or shure movewmic, and what their experience was
Reference the lav concealer the link is for a senheiser ME 2 - II lav mic. Is this compatible with the tascam lav?
Your lav mic choice? Defaults from dr10L or Track E? or rode lav or anything else?
❤❤
I subscribed
How do you use F3 with the Tentacle Sync? From what I was aware of they aren’t compatible?
❤❤❤❤❤
And on the camera, what mic?
uh oh, we might have to replace our ursa foamies?!
"Nate lost one of ours" Dang Jake, you having no mercy
which font did you use to write jake Weisler
big flaw of current market now is hard to find any good and small audio preamp to have a clear audio at your camera ...
Do you use any shotgun mics on camera?
I can't get the links work
In my case, the Dj's give me more RCA to XLR than any other. But just in case, I have all 3 of them
I bought a wireless microphone, Lark M2, do you think I should switch to the Sony TX660? I use the Zoom H1N on the soundboard. What basic kit would you recommend for beginners?
In our experience, we've always had SOME issues with the wireless transmitters. Sometimes if they get separated too far they freak out, or sometimes the transmission interferes with the DJ's feed. I feel like they're better vlogging audio devices than live event recorders! But that's just my take. As for a beginner setup, the H1N is excellent, the Sony Tx660 as a backup, and then some Tascam DR-10Ls as lav mics!
Im here to ask font name in ur thumbnail please
Whats your take on wireless audio kits? Like dji mic 2, hollyland lark max etc etc
Yeah excellent option as well. In our experience, we've always had SOME issues with the wireless transmitters. Sometimes if they get super separated they freak out, or sometimes the transmission interferes with the DJ's feed. I feel like they're better vlogging audio devices than live event recorders! But that's just my take.
What is your take on using rode wireless pro or dji mic 2 transmitter alone as replacement for sony tx660. They both can be used as standalone recorder and are also very small if not smaller and record higher bit depth.

Like Jake said, for wedding days, we want the safest possible option. Wireless isn’t it for us :)
@@JakeWeisler this answer worked for me
What I really mean is not connect to receiver. Only the transmitter turned on and has the internal recording on. So use it as standalone recorder. Both rode and dji can do this.
@@nightdonutstudio I have used the DJI the same way you want to use it for over 30 weddings already with no problem. Press record and leave the receiver in the case and you will have no problem. The only issue is setting up the gain but after a few weddings you can dial it, or buy the new one which does 32bit float. I hope this helps.
What settings do you suggest for the TX 660 & Zoom F3? And overall audio settings for that matter 🙌🏼
TX660 we actually just turn it on and hit record! Same with the F3. The principal is you want your audio to be PEAKING around -12db or -6db.
For the Sony TX660, I would recommend
- LPCM 44Khz 16bit option
-Mic sensitivity (low/medium)
-Noise Cut Filter on
- Scene mode off
Love this gadget.
What do you rate the new SHURE movemic wireless?
Have'n't used them! But I kinda just group them into the same categories as all those wireless vlogging mics. Not insanely reliable for live event filmmaking for me personally!
@@JakeWeisler thanks, I’ll just stick with the ones you showed.
7:07 You say male to two female, but the screenshot is female to two male. Which do you use more often? Thanks!
I use the one in the screenshot!
I think your audio sounds a little too cleanup from some noise reduction or something
Thanks for the feedback 🔥
I requested the audio of the votes due to the poor quality soundboard :(
Hi thank you for video, but at time 7ish you said male cable splitter to two females but in Picture in Picture you showed xls female! to male patch Y cable and it's confusing, with respect to LGBT! community still there are lot of difference! between male and female cables :))
