When it hit I remember the weather guy saying that was literally the first rainfall of over a quarter of an inch here in west WI in 10 weeks. Your trail name has apparently brought you a level of karma that none of us can comprehend
OMG I am shocked! You actually stopped early once and didn't push on until 9pm hoping a perfectly dry secure quiet patch of non-private sand would appear LOL (great video. Great trip! You guys rock!)
Award to you both ! You know l never saw a canoe go thru a lock before...it kinda reminds me of the flippers on an old time pinball machine when the gates opened... Thanks a live teaching moment for us on the Eàst coast. Be safe, be bugless, eat freely
Wow, I admire your commitment and the both of you seem to get along so well having a lot of fun. I live in St Louis not too far from downtown and the river. Will be looking forward to you making it here.
I used to live in Dubuque, Iowa. I remember the Mayflies being so bad that the build up of dead bugs on the road would become a driving hazard. I'm currently in the Kentucky Lake/Barkley lake area and have seen more this year than I can remember since Iowa in the early 80s.

Indian burial ground cathole strikes again…
Sounds like the thunderstorm I sat through today at the farm. Paddle On!
Cool lightening, from inside the tent. Seems like fun with wine and pasta.
Wine makes miserable tent conditions so much more pleasant
Helluva storm! "Destiny is all" as Uthred would doubtless say. Keeping positive and keeping paddling. Paddle on! Tortoise
Ah the joy of shad flies. Thanks again for the great coverage.

Oh, well, tomorrow's another day. Don't think I would eat anything out of that river.

MNDOT would get the plows out periodically on the old Wakota bridge in South St. Paul to clear the freeway of them.
And there's the storm...and lightening.
Mayflies a sign of a healthy river.

Shrimp are bugs! How dare they not have danish for you.
Mayflies! The insect with the short adult lifespan. No mouth, so all they do is reproduce.
Destiny Is All!
I saw a review call him Legolas crossed with Jon Snow and now I can’t unsee it
Oh yea i remember those storms
Were you still tired in the morning on that island?
I’ve been pretty tired every morning. Short nights, long days, and no breaks

Good morning!
Hopefully they had grits to offer with the shrimp?
Now grits I might have gone for. Particularly if there was some black coffee along for the ride
Tell me YOU DIDN'T turn down free shrimp.
Taters is generally against eating things with cute little faces
