Need to train on Concealment vs, Cover. Have the feeling that even our NSman in SPF and SAF don't even really understand those concepts.

ICA still using revolvers when SPF gone with pistols?

As a foreigner, it was really surprising to me that any security service was using revolvers still, especially Singapore considering the reputation for being so modern and technologically advanced. I’m sure there is a reason for using revolvers, but I can’t think of a valid one.

@@mqxogames Unlike many countries with high gun crimes Singapore is fortunate to have few if any. So revolvers for street cops more than suffices. Of course tactical units use pistols. However even street cops have moved to pistols now, probably more for logistical purposes so the entire force uses 9mm pistols rather than some still using 0.38 revolvers.

@MQXO Cause firearms crimes haven't been happening for decades, is as good as zero. That's how safe SG is. Therefore, a revolver will be enough. Moreover, pistol are heavier than revolver,, this means our officer don't need to add extra weight to their body. Welfare for our offiers. 😉

@@timothywoo7994 The extra weight is worth it for the higher rate of fire, more rounds & faster reload. Yes gun crime practically zero which is great but other risks like terrorism still exist. That’s why even GRF cars by default carry ballistic helmets & body armour in the boot. Some GRF cars also carry “extra” firepower but let’s not go into that 😉

Don't think ICA is budgeted to carry newer weapons as they only carry batons during ops and their emergency team would take up arms such as MP5 and Gurkhas armed with ACR are stationed on-site as well (you can see them out on patrol during super peak period.
I would say the Taurus revolver is a PDW (personal defense weapon) to protect yourself against threat, to hold, assess the situation and call for backup (ICA Emergency Response Team), Gurkhas or if its beyond their control they would eventually call in STAR to eliminate the threat.

The PAP showed that all the talk about change and reinvention was just talk. It cannot bring itself to ditch the playbook that it has relied on for decades - preying on insecurity, vulnerability and division, and promulgating how indispensable the PAP is to a glorious one-party system.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was in his element. The world has “turned much more troubling, even dangerous,” he said. That’s why the 4G leaders need support from every Singaporean in an increasingly troubled world.

WP’s response to such accusations differ markedly from that of the PAP.
The WP has chosen to, basically, let the people decide, and has not directly responded to Mr Lee’s or Dr Balakrishnan’s allegations.
To be sure, the WP - and indeed the opposition political parties, and especially the Singapore Democratic Party - has always met with similar accusations from the PAP.
